It's not CG. It's rendered in engine. Take Uncharted for example. Cutscene and gameplay graphics are nearly identical. Now. We still have to see if the game will stay looking like this. Doubtful though.

Who knows. A lot of this could end up in the books. I'm sure all the major plot points are written down. The show creators have been given them by GRRM. And with it only being 13 episodes left I doubt there's much room for padding. If anything it should follow the last 2 books closely with the material it actually has in the show. But the books will have much more once they're actually out obviously.

I still haven't watch a single episode of this show.
I definitely recommend it. Also. This thread was posted 12 minutes before the other one and you're the first comment. The fuck...

I was right, what a surprise. And yeah, it may have been insensitive to the victims to post that. Just sharing my thoughts. It is not a religion of peace, even though most are peaceful and it's a shame these morons keep doing these things.

Any word on if the PC version is being developed by Bungie or contracted to another studio?
Vicarious Visions is developing it. It will only be on the Blizzard App(Battle.net) and they're not committed to releasing it alongside PS4/X1 yet.

The Cabal are bad. Their sole mission is to expand and conquer. They've been fleeing "something" though. The Eliksni(Fallen) are just scavengers now. They had the Traveler a long time ago but then he Darkness destroyed their world. And of course the Hive are bad. Their slaves to the Darkness and have been wiping out entire species for billions of years.

The Cabal didn't do a single bad thing in the game though. They occupied Mars -- after it was deserted by humans -- and all we did as players was hang out and murder them in their homes. Then they attacked the Taken dreadnought to stop the Hive, and we killed them too. Grimoire cards don't count for anything; in the game, there's zero reason for killing them. The guardians are the antagonists against a species hellbent on stopping the Hive and Vex.
It's speculated they've fled from Oryx. So that could be why they crashed into his ship. They want to learn about Vex Technology and have been wanting to attack us but never did because Guardians don't die. The Cabal Scouting party(which is all they were on Mars) sent a distress signal so now The Empire sent combat units and they figured out a way to defeat us. And they want our power. I get what you're saying though.

So is anyone else happy or excited  that that faggot kike Kushner is a POI for this counsel?
I'm happy more so about Michael Flynn and Paul Manafort. And that one bald headed fuck who was on about some fascist tier rants.
Flynn did nothing wrong you mongoloid. He was a threat to the deep state but with Zog on their side they got rid of him before he could do any damage.
This post confused me
He's saying the Zionists that run the world got rid of them. Always bringing the tinfoil huh?

This still does not explain to what warrents this as a sequel and not yet another expansion to Destiny like the one's we have been getting.

I honestly wanted to see alot of revamps. I like current Destiny but it needs SO much refinement. This just feels like every other DLC we have gotten

PvP is still Mario Party with guns and a Frostbite Engine tier netcode fueled by Peer to Peer.
The Mobile game tactics they use to artificialy inflate playtime instead of giving real reasons to replay in a way a game like Dark Souls does.
PvP seems to be more Halo-ish now. Word is only one player can have heavy ammo at a time. And it's also 4v4 now across all modes. There's some other stuff I forgot too. And I'm hoping with this game, the new things we're doing which is one of their pillars they said. "Always something to do" That we won't be needlessly grinding or just playing through padded out material.

There are new additions. Read my post above.

I suppose "significant" is subjective, but no new classes, enemies, weapon types, or missions (distinct from raids or strikes) were announced. PVP had only a single gametype added. For a series whose biggest fault is a lack of diversity in the content it provides, this is a really disappointing announcement. Maybe all that will come later, but you'd think they'd lead with that stuff.
There is that demon looking dog thing. And some of the enemies look different, like the Vex. And the Red Legion look like they fight a little different. But yeah, I hope there's more. As for missions I was referring to the "Adventures" they talked about. They're side missions. No details on it. And they have Lost Sectors. Which they said are basically dungeons with loot and a boss at the end holding the key to it. So there's that. It seems reasonable enough so far. But what will make or break it will be how much of this stuff there is. There better be a lot of strikes, a lot of missions and adventures and lost sectors. If there is and they're good quality this could be a great game maybe. I still enjoyed D1, but as you said, what's hurting it is lack of diversity.

It legit sounds like an improvement, though. The gunplay, animations, and interface were never the issue. Even the repeated enemy types were varied and fun. It was the completely bullshit story structure of 1. fight through waves 2. press button, and the lack of endgame content beyond grinding for pointless gear. Hopefully this is treated as a soft reboot, though the apparent lack of any significant additions is kind of weird. No announcement of new classes or weapon types is disappointing. I'm glad it's finally on PC.

Um..
There are new additions. Read my post above. And yeah, Earth isn't new, it's just a new area on Earth. I was also hoping for a new class. Just new subclasses though. I'm sure there will be new weapons too, hopefully.

All that stuff sounds good to me. You can't be serious.

How much changed from Halo 1 to Halo 2? Less than this game. Dark Souls? Nearly every game franchise really....

Summary please. I'm not giving Kotaku clicks
Today at an event in Los Angeles, Bungie gave us our first look at Destiny 2, a video game about the crazy antics of Peter Dinklage. It’ll be out on September 8 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Destiny 2 is going to be “a new beginning” for everyone, both new players and old, director Luke Smith said at the start of the presentation. “There have been three things rattling around in our heads,” he said before listing the pillars Bungie used to envision their Destiny sequel. The first: “A world that pulls you in.” The second: “Amazing things to do.” The third: “Always someone to play with.”

They’ve changed Crucible to 4v4 for all modes.

They’re going to make Trials, raids, and the Nightfall “available to all players,” which they’re doing with a brand new system called Guided Games that will allow in-game Clans to sherpa players through that tougher endgame content.

The PC version of Destiny 2 will be on Blizzard’s Battle.net rather than Steam or another platform. Although the console versions will run at 30FPS, Destiny 2 will have an uncapped framerate on PC.

Bungie showed off Homecoming, the first mission of Destiny 2, which depicts a massive force of Cabal attacking the Tower. It looks a whole lot like Destiny 1.
At the end of this mission, Smith said, the forces of good will be defeated. Players will lose their city, their powers, and their vaults to the Cabal’s Red Legion and their big baddy, Commander Ghaul. The goal of Destiny 2 is to go out, get your stuff back, and take down Ghaul.

Bungie’s saying Destiny 2 will launch with new strikes, PVP modes, and (sadly) just one raid.

You’ll get three weapon slots that are more flexible than Destiny 1's, called Kinetic, Energy, and Power. It sounds like you’ll be able to shuffle your weapons around and use the same types of weapons in multiple spots this time around.

New classes include the Warlock’s Dawnblade, complete with flaming sword, the Titan’s Sentinel, with a void Captain America shield, and the Hunter’s Arcstrider, with an electric staff.

Bungie introduced a new PVP mode called Countdown in which players will have to place a bomb in their opponents’ base and then guard it.

Destiny 2 will allow players to launch activities from within anywhere in the world, without having to go to orbit (thank goodness). Rather than solely letting you wander around and do patrol missions, Destiny 2's maps will have treasure hunts, activities, and dungeons called Lost Sectors that sure sound a lot like Diablo.

The new planets are Earth, Titan, Io, and Nessus

Destiny 2 will have a more robust clan system, with in-game rosters, customizable banners, and other tools that’ll make it easier to show everyone that you’re part of Team Kotaku.

Bungie also announced a system called “Guided Games” that will allow players to join up with clans—even if those players aren’t members—for Destiny 2's more complex end-game content, like raids and Nightfalls. This is Destiny 2's version of matchmaking. It’s basically an in-game LFG system. If you’re raiding and need an extra slot, you can open up your group to a player looking for a raid.

Most of my friends are renting right now. And even then, they can only afford it because they have a buddy or girlfriend living with them to split the bills. One friend in particular, his rent is $700 a month. And there's places in my country that costs $2000+ a month to rent. Houses seem to be $150K+ Just a regular house. So yeah, unless you and the person living with you make decent money, it's hard. I can't live on my own.

259
He can declassify stuff, but like you said there's a process. He can't just go spouting off shit. I hope this is true and gets him gone.

Yeah, lots of places need to get working on upgrading the OS. All the computers at my job still use XP, as do all the ones at my school. And they did the entire time I was at school for fourteen years. Except those first 2 years they may have been using Windows 95 or something.

They could make a clone of AC4 with a different story and I'd buy it. They're not saying less story. Just not as tied to progression as it was. No idea about how the combat will be. I didn't like the changes Unity brought to combat. Story also wasn't good. And it lagged and was so buggy. Syndicate wasn't too bad, but still didn't care for the combat. Punching and stuff instead of swords. If this one has a decent story with some good gameplay, it could be good. They've had quite awhile to be working on it now.

Gameplay and this snippet of info.

YouTube

Similar to the way Zelda expanded on its own core concepts in Breath of the Wild, if a puzzle exists in Darksiders 3, it should make sense in an environment rather than being a trap some unseen character inexplicably laid out for the player for no logical reason. Don’t expect any gated combat, and enemies (some of which existed in previous games, some of which are brand new) should feel a lot more like they belong in the world natively, rather than just popping up inconveniently to fight you. Yes, there’ll still be collectibles creatively scattered throughout the world, but no out-of-place chests, and, ultimately, every inch of the world should feel more contextualized if all goes according to Gunfire’s plan. That same ideology seems to echo throughout each level, in a world that is supposed to be fully connected and realized, without any hard loads. If you take an elevator down to a different environment, the one you came from really is the height of that elevator away from you. It’s supposed to be a physically, logically connected open-world, and in part because of that, it’ll also have a whole lot of ‘swiss cheese game design’ - basically, the idea that you should be able to see glimpses of environments you’ve already been to, or ones you’ve yet to go to as you traverse, like through the holes in swiss cheese. Based on the tiny chunk that I played, it made me want to explore everything so much more than I would have otherwise, because you can always see the next thing, just out of reach.

Dungeons are supposed to be much more inter-connected, too, with the whole game world almost acting as one giant dungeon. It is still linear in terms of story progression, though less so in terms of the actual timeline. Darksiders 3 will take place around the same time as Darksiders 2, with Death very far away, War still locked up by the Charred Council, and Fury sent to Earth to take down the physical embodiment of the Seven Deadly Sins who broke out of their prisons during the apocalypse. We only saw one of the Seven, Sloth, who appeared as a giant, grotesque bug with a posse of smaller ones carrying him around on a chair, fitting with the sin’s inherent laziness. Each of the environments is set to be shaped by each unique boss, too, like their own versions of terraforming. As I delved further into Sloth’s section of the map, things got murkier, and bugs started showing up more and more often. In that, each environment is intended to be reflective of the Sin that inhabits it, or the character that does. One particular area, called Haven, is entirely shaped by the gorgeous, enormous tree that sits perched and glowing in the middle. It’s a relatively safe area, and the roots that tendril their way through the city slowly get thicker towards the center, which presents it’s own creative navigation tool.

It’s also just pretty overall, though it still maintains that unique, classic Darksiders art style, and with an immediately noticeable increase in verticality versus previous games. Darksiders 3 is the first in the series to run on Unreal rather than an internally built engine, and subtleties like water, lava and lighting particularly had noticeably improved. I didn’t get to explore the world anywhere near as much as I’d have liked, but did get to see what looked like a series of skyscrapers floating on clouds in the sky, a damp-looking, swampy area, and a fiery hollow - each of which seemed to exist exactly where it should in terms of verticality, with the hollow being far below the rest.

So are the kid and the alternate world not in the book series as at all?
There's a kid in the novels called Jake but he exists within the Dark Tower universe. There is no dumb dimension jumping.

Although it's not firmly established, King has hinted throughout the novels that the DTverse is essentially a post apocalyptic version of our world.
That's the impression the trailer gave. That the world the black guy is from is Earth in the future, or just Earth that somehow was destroyed.

267
I saw that there were a lot of books. Like the last one came out in 2012. Through the Keyhole or something. Is it over, or has he not written another yet?

I'm not sure, last one I read came out before 2009. I wasn't aware he was still writing them.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Tower:_The_Wind_Through_the_Keyhole

Including that one there's 9 books. It says this one takes place between books 4 and 5. So I guess for now, it is done. But he had a little more story to tell. I'll have to read them one day.

Yeah, they said it's a sequel to the books instead of an adaption. Stephen King is cool with it. I've never read them so if it's good I might watch it.
