But Destiny is actually a decent game now.
Run while you can.

You absolutely should.
How much replayability does it have?
Well, there's 36 endings. There's many choices throughout the game too.
Quote
How much content does it have compared to something like TES or Fallout?
Significantly more. They have nothing on TW3.
The main questline alone is 50+ hours. Then there's literally a shit ton of side quests and Witcher contracts, and they're not just your average fetch quests and shit; a significant amount of them are narrative driven to some degree.
Quote
How open worlded is it?
It's enormous. It dwarfs Skyrim's open world, and entering buildings is completely seamless.
Speaking of the story, I was kind of disappointed recently. I just finished all the quests on Skellige(Main Quests), and well, looking at the titles of the next few quests I have, and what I'm preparing for. It sounds like the ending. However I kinda did look at some spoilers, though I barely know anything. Too my surprise there's an entire Act 3. So It looks like I actually have quite a lot longer to go. Thank God.

Definitely. Watching that video from PS Access at the moment. Mouth is foaming.

Oh I know. But that's not my point. It's the engine itself, and other things. There are plenty of games on the PS4 and X1 that look better than Unity and run just fine.
Major difference is that pretty much all of them are either linear or much smaller open worlds.
Pretty much? I thought so. Means Ubisoft needs to get to work.

That would imply that Unity looked too good for current consoles. I'd like to think that it was a combination of things like poor optimization, and just being rushed in general.

Sweet. Must watch now.

Edit: Is it just me, or do these graphics look worse than Unity?
It explicitly states that it's pre-alpha footage.
That's not saying much since it's Ubisoft, but y'know.
Yeah true. Just saying. Doesn't look that bad though.

« on: May 11, 2015, 09:49:31 PM »
It's a good game. So if FFXIV.

GW2 is also good, but there's no sub, which means hardly no new content. So once you finish, it's kinda boring. That said, it would take awhile to finish it all. FFXIV releases new patches every 3 months. And they're huge. Blizzard has been slacking on WoW patches for awhile, but still more than GW2.

WoW is very old, so you'd have plenty of stuff to do.

Yeah, it's all very interesting and written well. But another problem with it, is a lot of it's cryptic, only offering hints. A lot of them are more maybe this is it, instead of confirming stuff.

I read all my Grimmoire Cards recently. First of all, why aren't they viewable in-game? And some of them are written pretty well. Have a nice story to them.

I am Pujari. These are the visions I have had of the Black Garden.
The Traveler moved across the face of the iron world. It opened the earth and stitched shut the sky. It made life possible. In these things there is always symmetry. Do you understand? This is not the beginning but it is the reason.

The Garden grows in both directions. It grows into tomorrow and yesterday. The red flowers bloom forever.

There are gardeners now. They came into the garden in vessels of bronze and they move through the groves in rivers of thought.

This is the vision I had when I leapt from the Shores of Time and let myself sink:

I walked beneath the blossoms. The light came from ahead and the shadows of the flowers were words. They said things but I will not write them here.

At the end of the path grew a flower in the shape of a Ghost. I reached out to pluck it and it cut me with a thorn. I bled and the blood was Light.

The Ghost said to me: You are a dead thing made by a dead power in the shape of the dead. All you will ever do is kill. You do not belong here. This is a place of life.

The Traveler is life, I said. You are a creature of Darkness. You seek to deceive me.

But I looked behind me, down the long slope where the blossoms tumbled in the warm wind and the great trees wept sap like blood or wine, and I felt doubt.

When my Ghost raised me from the sea there was a thorn-cut in my left hand and it has not healed since.

I like that one. If they can think up this, then why can't they make a story? I just don't understand. Bungie just doesn't make story I guess. I swear, Halo 3 had no story. Until the end at least, I barely remember anything before the cutscene with The Prophet killing Johnson and stuff.

Yeah I'm not going to leave the game just to read it's supposed story. It's stupid. That shit should have been in the game.

None of those are even story. It's just lore. Everything you read there, happened before Destiny.

No one is surprised by this right? They said HoW would not have a raid quite a long time ago. And of course, any new content released isn't going to be free. I try not to defend Destiny. But I will say this. The game was a disappointment. I don't buy the whole cut content BS. And that Bungie and other developers are evil entities out to get your money. There is no disc locked content, other than empty areas, that weren't even finished. You can even see the locked off areas have changed a lot after a patch we downloaded. And another patch we'll download this month. Now, is everything they're offering in these DLCs worth the price? Not really. And to suggest, that content that is coming out later this year, and even next year, is content that's already finished right now, is laughable. The game was a disappointment. For whatever reason, they released it with a poor story, and not much content. Even though we have no idea, if the story was much different than it is now. Bungie has further brought down their reputation with the release of Destiny. Hopefully, in the future they can redeem themselves.

My first Exotic was from my first VoG run. Objectively the best part of the game. Now that was fun. All the others I got randomly or bought them. Not many stories to tell. I still do play Destiny from time to time. Not sure why. After the next "expansion" I should be done though. My fault for buying the Season Pass before the game was even out.

Deus Ex
FFXIV
Star Ocean
KH3

I'm pretty sure MS will have Tomb Raider, although perhaps not.
I think you mean FFXV
No, the expansion for FFXIV comes out on the 23rd, so I guarantee you FFXIV will be there.

Gaming / Re: What reason do you think Battlefront is at 40 players?
« on: April 23, 2015, 07:42:15 PM »
Maybe the graphics? BF4 is like 900P on PS4, and mostly 60FPS. So if SWBF actually looks like that trailer, that's a HUGE leap up from BF4. The more they push the hardware, the more they'll have to scale down. I wouldn't be surprised if near the end of the consoles lives, some games are 720P and 30FPS just because of the graphics/physics, etc.. In fact, isn't BF4 720P on X1? Or is it 1080P on PS4 and 900P on X1?

Is anyone hoping they reveal this at E3? GG is a good developer really. They messed up with KZSF, but KZ2 was a great time on PS3 back when it came out. I know there's not many KZ fans here. But this is a completely different game. Supposedly open-world. They technically "announced" this game in 2010. So I've been waiting, anyone else? This has got to be the year. 5+ years of dev time and no reveal even?

Maybe Destiny 2 will actually have engaging gameplay now.

Bruh, the gameplay is the one thing that just about everyone agrees is pretty damn solid. It's the lack of content that has people bored to tears of Destiny.

PVE is just you replaying the same uninspired missions over and over again (save for the raids that you need 6 other friends to play and you can only complete once a week) and the multiplayer is a casual catering cluster
fuck.

Raids are also a broken mess, and Bungie has not done shit to fix them.
The next update will fix Raids. Among other things. Only took them 8 months lol.  Seriously. I think they fucked up big time with the engine or something. Simple fixes like this should be simple fixes. If making a simple fix is hard, or leads to more bugs, then there is something wrong with their engine. They need to gut it for the sequel.

Just beat the first boss. First try too. What's funny is, one of my notes was rated good, so it gave me health. Whoever rated it, I thank you. That's the only reason I didn't die when I fought the Cleric.
