I enjoyed the story. It's not trash.

It is trash, though.

I had freezing and framerate problems, the graphics were downgraded compared to City, and even Asylum.
>PC
Arkham Knight on PC is even worse than Origins.
On consoles, Origins is the best looking of the 3.

Quote
They also had a different look. Like almost a more cartoonish art style. The story was shorter. The tacked on MP was awful. Just not that good of a game compared to the others.
Origins has a more realistic art style that I enjoyed, as well as a more serious and better-performed story than the other 2. The MP was tolerable with friends but for the most part, yeah. It was shit. Kind of sucks because those trophies are the only ones holding me back from a Platinum /:

Also keep in mind. It doesn't matter if Knight has the best story in the series, or the worst. Story isn't the deciding factor, or end all.
But... it is, in this sense.
Knight doesn't do much to deviate from stuff that City already established, gameplay-wise. And the stuff it does (batmobile) sucks.
So, what we have essentially is Arkham City, with worse gameplay, and a worse story. I can deal with the Batmobile, but the story is god-awful.
Ok, fuck quoting each individual line. Sorry about that.

Anyways. I enjoyed the story. I did. If you think it's trash, that's fine. But I disagree. I know the PC port is shit. And that's a shame. But I'm not playing on PC so I don't really care, as it doesn't affect me. I can agree Origins had a more serious story than Asylum or City. Not sure about it being better though. And a realistic art style? I've been looking at pictures. It looks toned down. Not more realistic. The snow looks like a plastic texture covering the ground. Gone are the pools of water collecting light from Arkham City. At least in the pictures I saw. Heck, even Batman's suit looks plastic. The Batmobile I enjoyed. I don't think it sucks. I think it's overused. So there you have it.

I agree with most of what you said. I still love the game though. Best game this year so far IMO, right behind TW3. I also think it's the best game in the series. Right behind Arkham City.
I don't even... the story is trash. How can it be second best to you?

I'm just at a loss for words, really.

Also. Is that Pyg Man side mission not the creepiest thing ever?
Yeah, but I didn't really like it all that much, to be honest.
Also, cool fact. If you didn't know. If you set the date to 12-13-14 on your console and go to Calendar Man in Arkham City he has some new dialogue. Ending it with... "I was there at your beginning and I will be there at your end"

In the Knightfall Protocol ending, you can see him standing in the crowd in front of Wayne Manor.

I enjoyed the story. It's not trash. But not amazing. Asylum had a good story, but it was much more focused than the other 3 games. Origins just screamed cash grab all around. I enjoyed it, but it was sub-par all around. I had freezing and framerate problems, the graphics were downgraded compared to City, and even Asylum. They also had a different look. Like almost a more cartoonish art style. The story was shorter. The tacked on MP was awful. Just not that good of a game compared to the others.

Totally did not notice that. Pretty cool too. There was an easter egg found late last year in Arkham City. By setting the date to December something 2004, Calendar Man had new dialogue. Said something like the end of days is coming. I was there at your beginning, and I'll be there at your end. And he's there. Now that's cool.

Cool but they'll be very restricted on consoles.  They'll have to be approved. And plenty of them just won't work on consoles because of they're out dated hardware.

Yes. Amy Hennig, who was the writer at ND is writing it. Supposedly she was forced out by Neil and Bruce, but there's no proof. They had to scrap 8 months of work on Uncharted 4 though. The new Star Wars will be a bit like Star Wars 1313 if you remember that.

I'm kinda mad about TLOU. It's story ended so perfectly that a sequel to those characters would ruin it, IMO.

The only way it would work is if they
had new characters, and at that point, the chances of them having the same level of chemistry as Joel and Ellie is
extremely low. The game's selling point is the character interaction, but if that isn't done right, all you have is a mediocre TPS with survival aspects tacked on. It can't work in any way.
I could see them doing an older ellie and more grey joel. It was a good ending, but there's plenty to explore there if they wanted. It'd be hard to start over and get attached to
completely different characters.
We need a prequel covering the 20 year gap. That has a chance to be full of amazing dark stories.

He was at some convention today. Casually confirmed TLOU 2 is in the works. Said Visceral's Star Wars game would be like Uncharted, and said UC4 would be his last project with ND.

eso is the problem with eso
This. I cannot play ESO when there are so many better alternatives. MMOs in general are time consuming, so free or not, I can't spend my time playing multiple MMOs.
we all know you love your weeb cat girl simulator mmo now leave our western cat-man simulator mmo alone

That being said I think 7/10 is a fair rating for the game but I think several other big mmos are ridiculously over rated. The mmo genre as a whole could learn a thing or 2 from eso
Eww, please no. The problem with most new MMOs is they're all themeparks and not sandboxes.
have you ever actually plays the game? And I was referring to the way classes and weapons work and the way combat is more than just tab and use your abilities.
I have. Another problem I have is content, without the sub, you won't be seeing much of it. Save for expansions. If those are even any decent. Every MMO I've seen gone F2P either turned to trash, turned to trash even more, or just remained decent with low amounts of new content coming in.
oh I certainly don't see it having the longevity of final fantasy 14 or wow. They should have designed the game to be buy to play from the start with paid expansions. That's what elder scrolls fans are used to and that's the model they ended up with anyway...
I think they planned on updating it frequently, but when the subs dropped, they stopped with that plan.
well it went about a year with subs and the only new content I believe they added was one endgame zone and their version of raids  and thievery that I know of. I don't think that justifies the sub
It doesn't. They've literally added barely anything in.
its certainly far from perfect but just little things about it makes it enjoyable to me
That's fine. As much as I hate to admit it. I could maybe possibly kinda sorta maybe enjoy it somewhat too. Just a little. It's sitting in my Steam library. But that shit is like 60 gigs. Lolno

It was the first link that I saw when I typed "Dragon Age" in Google.

It seems like it should be bigger than Jaws of Hakkon, but maybe not another Awakening size unfortunately.

I'm missing some. How do I get "On Burning Wings" I assumed it was a main story one that I couldn't miss, but I don't have it. Still have some side stuff to do. And I started another file.
it was a missable story one. Without being spoilery You personally have to drink from the well
I gotcha. I'll have to do so on my second file. None of the trophies look too hard. Not sure about Hard or Nightmare though. I played on Nightmare at the beginning I think. But said, fuck it. I'm just gonna play on Easy, or casual or whatever it's called and enjoy the story. Nightmare sounds like it will be a bitch to complete.

Wait... isn't that game a piece of shit?

That depends.

Are you a poor kid that was upset that you had to pay a subscription fee at launch and called it shit without ever playing it? Were you one of those people who nut gobbles Raging Rodriguez and took his uneducated word as fact despite the fact that this was clearly one of his first MMO games? Or did you actually play the game when it came out/know people that did?

The PC launch was actually one of the better MMO launches in history. However the game did have a lot of bugs and Zenimax wasn't able to pump out good content fast enough to justify the continued subscription fee which is why it eventually became buy to play like Guild Wars.

If you jump into it expecting Skyrim with friends you'll be disappointed as the game is an MMO first and an TES game second. The good news is that it adopts a more TES style leveling up system (although it does also include MMO like things such as a skill bar and traditional xp leveling up in addition to other levels such as two handed, bows, destruction, et cetera).

If you don't have friends to play with or aren't into MMOs I would either wait for it to go on sale or not get it at all.
My understanding is that the game was greatly flawed at launch, and it has taken a lot of work to get it where it is now.

I don't know who raging rodriguez is, I'm just going off of articles I read about it and what friends who played it told me.

Those are the bugs I was talking about. There were often problems with quests that would make it so they couldn't be completed which would force you to restart the quest and continuously relog until a quest npc showed up. However people don't seem to remember that WoW was literally unplayable when it launched (and had worse endgame content). In comparison ESO was basically perfect.

Was it great at launch? No, but it wasn't the disaster that the hate bandwagon decried it to be. It was simply slightly above average.
I can't speak for WoW's launch, but Vanilla WoW has a 93 on Metacritic. ESO has a 70. Bugs aren't the only problem with ESO. If ESO had launched bug free, it would still be a mediocre game.

Also how far are you into the game? The end of the game, beginning of the game?

I'm pretty early, but I wanted to see where everyone is about the game. I don't care about spoilers.
I just got to the point of Haven being attacked and coming to Skyhold, becoming Inquisitor, etc.
You got quite awhile left then. Story gets kinda slow, but picks up later.

DAI is awesome. I do wish the side quests were more substantial though. And the combat is kinda meh.

Point still stands though. I played Destiny yesterday, and a few minutes after I got on, 2 of my friends sent a message. "LOL"

Bastards...
why aren't you playing heavensward? I hear it's amazing
I have been playing FFXIV but since the expansion content is gated, I can't play it until I finish up some stuff. Almost there. Almost. I would be finished already, but I got distracted by Arkham Knight.
