Highest DPI on any mouse I'm aware of is 12,000.did both of you forget what hyperbole is at the same time or what Quote Is there a 200k+ DPI mouse that doesn't have the obnoxious "Super rad dope dank LEDs ZOMG take my 399.99 now pls" lights? it implies he wants a high dpi mouse without "gamer" design if the 200k was a hyperbole that is not how i would phrase it 97

also if you dont want hardware with aggressive edgy design just buy regular keyboards and mice that doesnt say "gaming" on it because thats just marketing babble

Same goes for mice. Is there a 200k+ DPI mouse that doesn't have the obnoxious "Super rad dope dank LEDs ZOMG take my 399.99 now pls" lights?Does PC gaming hardware always have to look like an LGBT flag or a Christmas tree? Is there one manufacturer that has that minimalistic aesthetic rather than putting baby-toy lights on everything? You can change the lights fool or even turn them off shut the fuck up and uhh 200000 dpi??? 99

Gaming / Re: Forza 7 requires 100GB of free space at launch« on: June 24, 2017, 09:31:49 AM »If the Xbone and the PS4 had decent hardware from the start, would we be needing to install every game? I'm thinking if the systems where released a year or so latter, then there might have been a disc drive which would have been able to read Bly-ray dics at a fast enough speed if not, they could have made their own. The money MS wasted on the Kinect could have went towards that and the same with Sony for their pointless VR.the problem with disc based media is that its read speed always going to be tied down to the mechanism, a disc can only spin so fast, and blu ray is about as good as it gets for the compact disc format whereas ssds are pretty much only limited by bandwidth and how big you want to make the floodgates 102

Gaming / Re: Forza 7 requires 100GB of free space at launch« on: June 24, 2017, 09:24:14 AM »assets are just big sometimes, there is no getting around thatPeople are gonna have to start asking themselves how much graphics REALLY matter within the next decade.I don't think it necessarily has to do with textures or the like; D44M looks phenomenal and it's half the size of this. It's bad optimization, short and simple. think about the polycount of the cars in forza, which also models the interiors and engine bays sometimes even texture compression can help a bit but then it also has to decompress it in runtime and that will impact performance, which is why it isn't used often, OR you have the alternative which is pop-in when there's a game with a photo mode that lets you zoom into like 3 inches of the car without losing visual fidelity, it probably has ridiculously huge 8k textures think about the 500 odd cars forza has, 8k textures for all of them, several million polygons each car, not to mention the uncompressed audio files they probably have recorded for each and every engine im not saying it cant be reduced further but i dont think this is an optimization issue, assets are just whatever size they are, and considering the fidelity of racing simulation games these days, it's sort of expected assets are often made using third party tools too, and most asset creators in the industry will be using the same tools - photoshop, maya, 3Ds max, and will all save the files the same way 104
Gaming / Re: Since it deserves its own thread, new Ace Combat 7 trailer from E3« on: June 17, 2017, 03:20:55 PM »So when's the next Armored Core game the format could be perfect for vr tbh any game that would work entirely with a cockpit view would be, like elite dangerous or dirt rally, arguably the best examples of VR integration that fits within the context without sacrificing gameplay elements both of those games were also made with gameplay in mind before vr implementation 105

Gaming / Re: Since it deserves its own thread, new Ace Combat 7 trailer from E3« on: June 16, 2017, 03:28:05 AM »It's a mechanic that was introduced in Assault Horizon. Once you get near a jet, you press the QTE to activate DFM and your jet in engaged in a on-rails shooter scenario where your jet is directly behind the jet you targeted with DFM. It's cool to see because you get to see the jets up close in battle which wasn't really done before so you can see the pieces of metal and destruction you cause on the enemy jet and see it fall apart in great detail. We got our first official gameplay! And the best part? NO DOGFIGHT MODE HELL YESwhat is dogfight mode and why is it bad i hated it and the worst part was the mechanics for it were different in the final boss fight so you had to unlearn what you learnt from dfm to fight the final boss because otherwise you wouldve run out of missiles and made it impossible for yourself to kill him the most efficient method was to do a horribly scripted sequence for what felt like years, at least dfm before that rewarded efficiency with somewhat decent aim, the last boss threw that out the window by making you wait 5 minutes between every sequence before you pop another shot otherwise he wouldnt take damage and your missiles are sponged; like, dfm was already shit, but they managed to make a shitty unrealistic mechanic play differently at the end of the game in an even shittier, more unrealistic way QTE isnt a problem if its initiated by the player and they expect it, its a problem when its in the middle of a cutscene youre watching and suddenly you have to press a button and it becomes the worlds worst rhythm game whereas player initiated QTEs are predictable to a degree and wont pop up in the middle of a cutscene youre supposed to be watching; i dont hate QTEs as much as i hate where they end up being used 112

The Flood / Re: How to deal with stupid customer« on: June 12, 2017, 11:12:14 PM »When I had to deal with bad/rude customers, I work with them to find a solution to their problems and I'd say 95% of the time they came to reason and we found a way to fix what their problem was. If they continue to be a nuisance and refuse to accept any of the help that I offer then that's when you hit up your manager to deal with them because clearly there is something wrong with them.likewise getting angry at customer support isnt going to help me fix my problem faster though sometimes its necessary if youve gotten nowhere in the past 20 minutes on the phone then theyll usually transfer me to someone who speaks with perfect english or just send me a new whatever for free 116
