Gaming / Re: worst platform thread« on: August 08, 2017, 12:44:16 PM »I thought high DPI is good just like high FPS?Yes, the 200k was a joke. For now at least. Do they make non-rgb or space-ship looking mice n KBs for 'gaming'?i dont know why you care for the word "gaming" very few people play well using high dpi, that is also a marketing buzzword, or number high-level fps players prefer larger mousepads and lower dpis so they use their whole arm for large movements and use fingertips for precise aiming, if you play with high dpi, youll have less room to work with because any tiny movement will make it much easier to overshoot, but you have the option of both with low dpi. all it is, is essentially halving the precision of your mouse whenever you double the dpi my mouse goes upto something stupid like 12k, even 1000 is not usable for me, im at 400dpi, but i still like the mouse because of the build quality and the sensor is actually pretty good. dpi is mostly preference but anything over 2000 is probably unusable for everyone, most people will probably be between 600-1200 dpi and as for keeping up with the technology youre just interested in the tech so you follow the news around it, like if youre interested in a game or anything else really, you'll just look for it, you'll follow tech channels or tech news sites and read reviews, and you dont really feel it consume your time because if you like it enough it just becomes your hobby it doesnt take much effort to keep up with it if its just what you do without thinking, and its what you enjoy doing and most motherboards wont be compatible with most components, most people just make sure it's compatible before they build 64

i borrowed 8gb of my sister's ram so i could actually see if this thing works, just to really see if i installed it wrong or if the pumps not working properly, etc Spoiler so the custom rgb stuff i made for it works, yeah great whatever blah blah blah but the real star of the show is how well the AIO cools this thing i played forza horizon 3 for about an hour so that it would sustain a load that would eventually reach the cooling capacity of the liquid, and wow, it smacked 20 degrees of this mf and stayed that way 99-100% load for an hour, and it would max out at around 50c ofc this isnt the beefiest card, it's still just a 1060, but this thing runs near silent now, at 50c the fan speed percentage only goes at around 37%, and never really spins faster, because it doesnt need to at 50c, and since it doesnt really get warmer than 50c, it just stays put this aio g12 setup is definitely overkill for the 1060, but it's worth it since ill be able to use this on other cards later on its also silent as a whisper with these new double-ball bearing fans from arctic, designed for 24/7 continuous operation, and i love the shiny grey finish on them, these fans are really cheap too and very high quality if you want to know what they sound like at max, theres no mechanical noise - it just sounds like the wind blowing through your windows, and i much prefer it over the humming of the previous fans that said, they won't ever each max under my use cases, as ive said, at most the gpu will make the fan spin at 36% 68

Gaming / Re: Good gaming mouse?« on: July 12, 2017, 07:33:52 PM »most mice dont need to be gaming to have side buttons since those are mostly for browser navigationWhat makes a mouse a gaming mouse?High (or variable DPI), side button(s) and a good sensor. RGB lighting and others are a bonus, I'd say. anyone who plays over 1200 dpi needs to die anyway 82
Gaming / Re: Good gaming mouse?« on: July 10, 2017, 11:09:48 AM »I'm pretty sure the g502 sensor is a bit better (higher inch per sec, higher possible CPI), but at a level that I don't find necessary. Ex: You wouldn't want to play past around 800-1200 CPI, because you get to a point where the sensor is subdividing the pixels used for that calculation; it ends up adding more error than playing low CPI + high game sensitivity. it doesnt have a coiled cable and its still on the taller side of the mouses compared to the rival 100 im not sure any kind of mouse has a coiled cable sure it has 12000 dpi but i just play 500 and have it as the only setting on my g502 so it doesnt matter anyway 83

high sensitivity or low sensitivity and what kind of games
if accuracy is your concern you cant really go wrong with anything on this list http://on-winning.com/flawless-sensor-mouse-list-perfect/ check out the shapes of the mice and the weight though, some might be more comfortable depending on the kind of grip you use 88
