Yes, the 200k was a joke. For now at least. Do they make non-rgb or space-ship looking mice n KBs for 'gaming'?
i dont know why you care for the word "gaming"

theyre just mice that look like sports cars, its a marketing buzzword

just get a "normal" looking mouse, itll do the same thing, asking if they make "gaming" mice that look like "normal" mice is just asking if they make normal mice

high dpi is bad for games anyway, and bad for your wrist since it localizes the movement and contributes to risk of RSI
I thought high DPI is good just like high FPS?
Is there like a DPI after which it doesn't benefit the user?

OT: How do you guys keep up with all the tech?
Like how would you know which motherboard is the best today?

How rare is it to have a motherboard that is not compatible with a component?

How do you know which power adapter (Power brick) to get?

very few people play well using high dpi, that is also a marketing buzzword, or number

high-level fps players prefer larger mousepads and lower dpis so they use their whole arm for large movements and use fingertips for precise aiming, if you play with high dpi, youll have less room to work with because any tiny movement will make it much easier to overshoot, but you have the option of both with low dpi. all it is, is essentially halving the precision of your mouse whenever you double the dpi

my mouse goes upto something stupid like 12k, even 1000 is not usable for me, im at 400dpi, but i still like the mouse because of the build quality and the sensor is actually pretty good. dpi is mostly preference but anything over 2000 is probably unusable for everyone, most people will probably be between 600-1200 dpi

and as for keeping up with the technology youre just interested in the tech so you follow the news around it, like if youre interested in a game or anything else really, you'll just look for it, you'll follow tech channels or tech news sites and read reviews, and you dont really feel it consume your time because if you like it enough it just becomes your hobby

it doesnt take much effort to keep up with it if its just what you do without thinking, and its what you enjoy doing

and most motherboards wont be compatible with most components, most people just make sure it's compatible before they build

I'll never get over how quiet my PC is compared to my last one. Just the faintest hum, whereas my old computer sounded like a jet taking off just from opening Firefox.
wat did u name ur pc

reposting from bung

i borrowed 8gb of my sister's ram so i could actually see if this thing works, just to really see if i installed it wrong or if the pumps not working properly, etc

Spoiler

so the custom rgb stuff i made for it works, yeah great whatever blah blah blah

but the real star of the show is how well the AIO cools this thing

i played forza horizon 3 for about an hour so that it would sustain a load that would eventually reach the cooling capacity of the liquid, and wow, it smacked 20 degrees of this mf and stayed that way

99-100% load for an hour, and it would max out at around 50c

ofc this isnt the beefiest card, it's still just a 1060, but this thing runs near silent now, at 50c the fan speed percentage only goes at around 37%, and never really spins faster, because it doesnt need to at 50c, and since it doesnt really get warmer than 50c, it just stays put

this aio g12 setup is definitely overkill for the 1060, but it's worth it since ill be able to use this on other cards later on

its also silent as a whisper with these new double-ball bearing fans from arctic, designed for 24/7 continuous operation, and i love the shiny grey finish on them, these fans are really cheap too and very high quality

if you want to know what they sound like at max, theres no mechanical noise - it just sounds like the wind blowing through your windows, and i much prefer it over the humming of the previous fans

that said, they won't ever each max under my use cases, as ive said, at most the gpu will make the fan spin at 36%

id still rather look at ads for things im interested in

in case theres stuff i want to buy

Advertisements are tied to what YOU are viewing, and it's been this way for several years now.
you can opt out of personalized advertisements and just get random ones not based on your browsing habits

What makes a mouse a gaming mouse?

Hight DPI?

Baby-toy lights?

13+ buttons?

A boob-waifu mouse pad?
High (or variable DPI), side button(s) and a good sensor. RGB lighting and others are a bonus, I'd say.
most mice dont need to be gaming to have side buttons since those are mostly for browser navigation

anyone who plays over 1200 dpi needs to die anyway

I'm pretty sure the g502 sensor is a bit better (higher inch per sec, higher possible CPI), but at a level that I don't find necessary.  Ex: You wouldn't want to play past around 800-1200 CPI, because you get to a point where the sensor is subdividing the pixels used for that calculation; it ends up adding more error than playing low CPI + high game sensitivity.

Other than that, the 502 has a coiled cable and adjustable weights, which are nicer.  But I find the Rival much better ergonomically.  I had a 502 at work, and found the thing kinda low-profile, comparatively, so I was clutching it weird and it was throwing me off.  Plus, I like the software for SteelSeries better.

it doesnt have a coiled cable and its still on the taller side of the mouses compared to the rival 100

im not sure any kind of mouse has a coiled cable

sure it has 12000 dpi but i just play 500 and have it as the only setting on my g502 so it doesnt matter anyway

I kind of want Assetto Corsa, but I dont know how I'd like it
I wanted a racing game but I don't have W10 for Forza. As long as it has car variety, it should be fine

And also it's only $15 rn
most of the car variety will be from mods otherwise there isnt really that much cars in assetto corsa

at least not since i last played

youll need a wheel

its okay with a gamepad but once you play it you think "i need a wheel"

its got the best physics modelling for any racing sim on the market but unless you like doing lonely hotlaps with a controller its probably not going to be that great of a purchase

high sensitivity or low sensitivity and what kind of games

if accuracy is your concern you cant really go wrong with anything on this list

http://on-winning.com/flawless-sensor-mouse-list-perfect/

check out the shapes of the mice and the weight though, some might be more comfortable depending on the kind of grip you use

Hate the G502.  Go for the SteelSeries Rival:
https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Rival-Optical-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B0160USMW6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499306460&sr=8-1&keywords=steelseries+rival
Looks basically the same as my current mouse.

Also, what's wrong with the G502?
nothing besides being the heaviest mouse known to mankind

other than that its pretty good if you dont mind the weight
