The Flood / Re: Formality of Being Here« on: April 13, 2017, 05:01:33 AM »he's completely right thoughTengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - I actually finished this series. Like a trainwreck, it was just difficult to look away. I don't think I need to go into my thoughts on this show, because my thoughts on it have been on record for ages. Simply put, it is the perfect amalgam of everything I detest about not only anime--not only Japan--but the human race and life itself. It truly has it all. The good news is, I will likely never see a more vomit-inducing show for the rest of my life, and that's honestly quite comforting to know. 1/10 307

Gaming / Re: Crafting systems pls go« on: April 11, 2017, 03:42:43 PM »Crafting systems are fine. Just don't make them super complicated and irritating.variety can be good also the crime is the UI/gameplay loop is forced the user into A crafting system isn't fun if the grind to obtain the crafted item is not fun, and especially if the crafted item is required to progress there is no inherent gameplay disadvantage to crafting, only bad implementation it's possible to have a game where the variety of craftable items supplements the gameplay rather than stopping the "fun" part, and this includes searching for the materials up until the crafting process if you just put a component from some npc with a super low drop rate because it has to be somewhere in the game for you to get the item, that's not a game built with crafting in mind, it's a game with crafting tacked on to tick the feature box 329
Gaming / Re: Crafting systems pls go« on: April 10, 2017, 09:55:21 PM »i wouldnt draw that comparison but i like crafting tooi seem to recall having many arguments about games with people where they would say things like "but verb, just because it's unnecessary doesn't mean it's bad"i don't understand this complaint at all tbhThe majority of crafting systems feel tacked on to fill a checklist than a natural part of the game. It makes sense in say, Far Cry as they focus on survival amd whatnot, but a lot of games have them that don't feel necessary in any way. depends on the implementation really a bad crafting system is bad a good crafting system is good this includes the crafting ui 330
Gaming / Re: Xbox Scorpio revealed (sorta)« on: April 10, 2017, 05:24:57 PM »Well it's got better specs than my current computer, which I haven't upgraded in a few years. I'd like to see a price before I get too excited, but I do like the trend towards more PC-like consoles. Eventually I'd like to see Microsoft just release a home entertainment computer with the ability to be a console (with the typical interface and features) as well as a PC. I think $500 would be a solid price, though I don't intend to buy it. i think theyre just going to go full pc gaming eventually given they realized their strength in the os market will always be games and just ditch the consoles not saying theyll stop making their own hardware but what it might mean is gaming-specific computers by them running the desktop os with some extra features while pushing their windows store |
