I've been working on a space-sim game with an Oculus DK2, and I was pretty mind blown.

It was cool, because the ship's movement component and UI were detached from the camera, so you could look around and not affect anything.  I was able to look around my cockpit and watch ships zip past me outside.

And that's all with an outdated headset.
are you talking about elite

im really considering getting an OSVR this summer for it

anyone play this, im pretty bad and i come like 5th place average in career mode but i play with helmet/head cam and all assists off using a ffb wheel

i love it cause its such a pure experience, the game looks great and is by far the best rally game to come out next to rbr

i like the art direction and new UI redesign (looks similar to destiny, one of the few aspects i liked about that), also im hoping it will have VR support and meaningful interaction with the environment, the cave thing was cool

i hope those arent the max graphics settings, but ill play if its fun, just seems like the shadows have that weird pixelly effect

seems like a very scripted video, but nice to hear about some stuff, if you could maybe update this thread with the videos theyll release further about this for this month that would be cool

nah youre rendering a couple spheres and a skybox plus your own ship 99% of the time

as long as you have a dedicated gpu made in the last 3 years you should be able to run it on low at least

I wouldn't know personally, but I think Falcon 4.0: Allied Force is regarded as one of the top modern aircraft simulators. Graphics are clearly over ten years old and it's only an F-16 sim, but it's cheap on the secondary market and easily... "obtainable though questionable means".

Did Ace Combat really get to simulator levels though? I remember Zero being still on the arcadey side of things.
i said simcade
