depends on the kind of experience you want, I mean you did say you wanted a sim and no racing game probably does that as well as AC
And in your opinion, is it only "meh" with a controller?
The thing is, I'm not really sure why people play simulators without sim controls, again it's definitely playable, but people are playing with things like assists off, traction control off, etc and still using a gamepad I mean, fine if you want a challenge, but you're still pressing your fingers against a trigger to accelerate and brake over a few degrees of articulation over a tiny axis, and the same goes for steering; you're trying to steer cars with which in real life have steering degree "axis" over like, 360, 540, 900 and even 1080 degrees of steering lock, with the added "feel" of the force feedback motors With a FFB wheel, you can actually feel when the motors are at their strongest, it will be harder to turn a wheel when you are at speed and trying to make a corner your tires can barely keep straight on - you can just about feel the limits of your car, and when you push past the "tightness", your wheel suddenly goes loose and you've lost grip, and your car spins out. Assetto Corsa probably also has the best FFB modelling out there too, nearly every car I pick in the game, I'm able to drive at speed and brake effectively because it does such an amazing job of transferring the feel and response the car's tires against the road. It's not impossible to enjoy this game on a gamepad, and the rumble is quite well done, but I feel like to truly enjoy a simulator and to bring yourself closer to the real-life scenario you're trying to simulate, you need some sort of setup that enables you to get as close to the real thing as possible. Again, I do have a few friends who do play this on a gamepad and enjoy it, mostly cause they want a challenging game; I'm just wondering what the point of expressly wanting a "simulator" for being a simulator is if you're still holding on to a gamepad, especially people who compare the "feel" of a car without being able to feel how the road affects the steering directly, and using a small handheld controller vs a setup similar to an actual car

>arcade racer
it's not that bad, the controls kinda suck but there's some good settings for it and I don't use a controller anyway I have a feeling it would be do much bette if they actually marketed it as an exploration and cruising game

the story is awful yeah I rushed through it, skipped all the cutscenes so I could cruise around I'd just cruise around for hours, it's not a very good racing game, but it's great for relaxing I'd just start the game and cruise for hours on random roads

it has the most advanced physics simulation out of any racing sim out, it takes ages for them to makes tracks and cars because they have to model the physics based on how the actual car in a stock setup feels, and they laser scan every real track they put into the game
pretty much all other racing sims don't completely simulate the physics of every car, the AI has their own version of the physics because it bogs down the CPU
not with assetto corsa, every car is fully simulated, tyres, suspension, down to the condition of the track (dusty, optimal, cars driven over the track affect how it reacts over long periods of time)
Maybe I'll check it out once the comp is built. Is it on sale now?
Yes, but when I say sim, I really do mean it targets a very niche audience, not just GT where you can play with a controller, this game expects you to have a force feedback wheel at the very least, and for you to be able to do races for hours and hours, this is like the track-driving version of Flight Sim X
It's possible to play with an xbox controller, but this game actually made me go out and buy a wheel
nvm

I've always loved the visuals of Gran Turismo, even since the original on PS1.
But oh my god, the simulator aspect of the game just kills me. It's like trying to play a game from a painting.
I get this is why people enjoy Forza more. This seems to be for people who are truly passionate about cars.
well..then you'd probably get assetto corsa instead
never heard of it

I don't like these games because I can't drive like a cracked out retard and crash everyone and still win
Honestly, that's why I never play online. That shit ain't racing.
The car behind you uses you as the brakes on every corner
youre just a puss who brakes early

Mighty No. 9 has been getting bad reviews, so in comes Team Sonic with this banter, the very same franchise which has launched a continuous stream of shit for the past 25 years.
they weren't all bad just mostly bad

Kind of surprised no one has come in here with their CM3D2 maids yet.
Been meaning to try it.
The translation work on it is minimal so outside of the UI you won't understand shit.
maybe thats why people havent tried it

What's the difference between infinite money and infinite pocket money?
technically none
but the way turkey read into it, "infinite pocket money" means that you can buy stuff at a $50 cap that replenishes daily
i guess
ikr but technically that wouldnt be infinite maybe you can only buy things under $50

a nuclear wasteland
A nuclear meltdown is worse than an air bursting nuke and Chernobyl has recovered just fine in a quarter of the time.
Also the Sky in Chernobyl didn't turn green.
this is the chernobyl exclusion zone
in fallout, as far as i'm aware, the entire country was ravaged by nukes
whether that would have any effect on the color of the atmosphere, i dunno, but i personally think the green tint adds a little gravitas to the idea that america was absolutely FUCKED by china
chernobyl was green in a different way

In other news: I FUCKING HATE THE WIPING CITY OF MHACH.
"Just wait after the first week" they said, "Give time for video guides to come out" they said. Everyone is still hog shit at it!! 66 minutes and we finally get to Ozma and after everyone just dicks around and eats three meteors I just fucking leave. I love content of this difficulty but I don't want to play it if everyone is going to be so shit at it.
actually bodyline http://bodyline.jp/en/costume311.html

I wish Bethesda did a real remaster instead of dumping in a filter and god rays cause it still looks worse than the original PC release.
hey its fallout 3

If anything, nvidia's are worse because they are constantly updating them (more space for error).
I wouldn't say that, software is unpredictable, other than that neither are as bad as the other, AMD drivers have had their problems as NVidia have, and both have only improved but yes the RX 480 is one of the best value cards to have been announced in a long time

Are AMD cards more of a hassle? People keep saying they have more issues and produce more heat. Is this a good alternative for a first build?
sure there are charts and stuff out there saying X or Y runs like 2 degrees cooler and X has 3% performance over Y on this game and 5% over on the other game that's really just nitpicking though it hasn't been a real problem for the past couple generations and it's only going to get better, neither AMD or NVidia really make "bad" cards

Personally I'd pass on the SSD and use that to get an i5. Good build tho.
you can always upgrade to an i5 moving OS isnt as easy, unless you want another new install, and this is the thing your OS runs on so if you're upgrading from a PC using a HDD as a boot drive it's still going to take the same amount of time to start up as any PC on a HDD
