Gaming / Re: hardcore gaming tips« on: July 04, 2016, 02:59:48 PM »I didn't have much choice, nobody was selling the FK1 in the UK and the cheapest one was more expensive than the G502g400 is bae, had mine for years.>gaymen mouse I generally went by reviews and it definitely feels like one of the best mouses you can get right now, looks aside despite how clunky it looks, I hold it pretty much exactly how I held the g400 - for all their mice, they've actually kept pretty consistent ergonomics, everywhere you hold other logitech mice is pretty much the same the encasement is also very thick, which is probably part of why it weighs so much Spoiler The scroll wheel is metal, and it's on bearings (which is difficult to get used to at first but it's nice after you get used to it), you can also toggle the notching to have a free-scrolling wheel one last thing is the braided cable is really unlike any other braided cable I've seen before, some razer stuff I've had before or saitek have had braided cable that was tight and rigid, keeping it in any shape will mean it would keep that shape, but for this, it was soft and very very flexible, and doesn't move the whole clump of wires around if you have them in a tie, and flexes just enough so that it doesn't bite when you try to bend too much 1086
Gaming / Re: hardcore gaming tips« on: July 04, 2016, 02:44:53 PM »>gaymen mouse its comparable to zowie fk and has a pretty good sensor I only got it because they stopped making the G400 that looks pretty junky, like it would break easilyit looks like the springs in the buttons would feel ultra fragile tbh its one of the heaviest mouses on the market right now avago sensors pretty much goes by the name pixart now, some people say it's even better than the FK1's sensor as for durability it also gets praise for that, as opposed to the $11 gaming mice with lights you can get on amazon i got it on sale in the UK https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Proteus-Spectrum-Tunable-910-004615/dp/B019OB663A/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1467661649&sr=1-1&keywords=g502 1087

you know us gamers need hardware that can adapt to the situation at any given time
gaming is a fast paced activity that requires demanding hardware and the skill to harness it to secure victory Spoiler this is me overclocking my mouse it gets very hot this way but is perfect for the fast intense action of modern fps games so i need it to be able to keep up with my lightning fast reflexes at all times Spoiler this is "cool" mode, when i can cool down after a hardcore gaming sesh with the squad in this state its not capable of keeping up with me but perfectly fine for normal computer usage and browsing the web, and watching my favourite esports teams 1090

Serious / Re: Unofficial Brexit Thread« on: July 02, 2016, 04:49:59 AM »Sorta related, I find it funny how the Conservatives are "acting on the people's behalf" by carrying out the Brexit plan, while in Labour, everyone's trying to out Corbyn despite having a majority vote in the Labour leadership elections.hes got grassroots support, he's had some of the most consistent votes out of any mp and was also one of the most rebellious mps in history, and it's showing 1098
Serious / Re: Unofficial Brexit Thread« on: July 02, 2016, 04:44:55 AM »well if we got off easy it becomes a no brainer for another big contributor to leave like we didthere will not be any cherry-picking and the UK will have to suck up all EU conditions and responsibilities that come with it.This doesn't make sense, though. There are myriad countries with FTAs with Europe who don't have to accept the free movement of people; not to mention Merkel herself is facing an election next year and heavy lobbying by German industry. 1099

It looks far better and no intelligent individual should care at all.being tall is normally functionally better than being short nobody should care either way in this day and age 1103

Gaming / Re: settled on RX 480« on: July 01, 2016, 12:19:50 PM »So it's just overclocking that pushes it past 150W?160-170 on stock it seems Again with the kind of power supplies available right now, I wouldn't worry about it, especially since it only uses one 6-pin 1106
Gaming / Re: settled on RX 480« on: July 01, 2016, 11:24:28 AM »Or they could just be uneducated, I thought my Sapphire Radeon 200 series card was supposed to run rather hot until I saw a variety of complaints when searching for what is now my current video card. I could have gone with a Fury X nor did I see any legitimate complaints from it, but EVGA's support for Nvidia cards really leaves an impression. A friend of mine had a failed 980 and sent it back to EVGA and they gave him a 980 TI as a replacement, I don't know if AMD gets the same treatment but I've only heard similar instances happening with Nvidia cards, and was one of the smaller reasons I went with the 980. AMDs CPUs are incredibly cheap too, though; I wouldn't recommend them either for any gaming, but for any other family member, it will perform the same just as much on youtube videos, browsing the web, and you can get one for like, what, $40? The PC I build for my mother is on an AMD APU, and it works the same as the day it was built - for what she does on it, it's more than capable of the job. I really wouldn't put it in any gaming build though. As for EVGA's support, EVGA are usually one of the more expensive board partners you could buy cards from. Legally, any board partner should treat you the same way, you should be able to ask for an RMA under warranty and get it replaced for free, OR BETTER if they do not currently have your stock, or they do not produce that card anymore, but is still within warranty from the date of purchase. But yes, there are varying levels of how fast customer service responds, how they deal with your issues, methods of communication (my preferred is online chat), and I've gotten my laptop replaced, my X-55 replaced, a stick of RAM, and almost a motherboard (false positives). Yes, some board partners are better than others when it comes to this, but just as there are good NVidia board partners like Zotac and EVGA, there are good AMD board partners like PowerColor and XFX. 1107
Gaming / Re: RX 480 settled« on: July 01, 2016, 10:48:11 AM »something that can get me 60fps at 1080p right now. The plan was always to upgrade later. The RX 480 is amazing at 1080p, especially on DX12 Those power draw concerns are based around the fact that the card is near the top of it's limits when it comes to clock speed and memory bandwidth; it's simply not designed as a card which overclocks well, and when you do, it would eat up a lot more power None of that should be a concern to you, the people who overclocked this card did it so you know the limits, and the returns are diminishing if the myths were to be believed that it could draw upto 200 watts, that still shouldn't be much of an issue either with the range of offerings corsair, seasonic and evga have for a more than capable power supply for any single-card setup 1108
Gaming / Re: RX 480 settled« on: July 01, 2016, 10:41:23 AM »My brother tells me that, is it shilling for Nvidia when you simply choose to avoid AMD completely? I've had nothing but bad experiences with AMD and as far as benchmarks go, they're either neck and neck or inferior in whatever situation. This isn't even an argument with CPUs. Whenever AMD unveils whatever new line of GPUs they want to showcase, they will always do so with Intel core systems because they know their own CPUs are problematic. Meanwhile Nvidia has never once failed me and they're not ball busting more expensive like people would have you believe. You've probably just been unlucky I've used both AMD and NVidia cards for years without much problems, all in all, cards are always getting more reliable, more power efficient and less hot, this has been true for NVidia and it is also true for AMD Hardware is always a roulette, whether it's drivers that don't work with your specific PC setup or a DOA part, your part could die the first day you have it, or 7 years after constant gaming There's a reason AMD are still selling their cards, and it's because they have a great answer to the mid-low range market - no NVidia card or AMD card is any more reliable than any other piece of hardware in your computer, out of the 6-7 builds I've made for people over the years with either companies, the only issue has been with a broken motherboard If you search "AMD card dies" you're going to get the same results as "Nvidia card dies", people are going to say something if their card doesn't work as intended, and people are going to vouch for the card they have because it's working as intended - simply put, people who have had no problems with their cards wouldn't say anything because it's working as it's supposed to 1109
