You're going to hate me for it but: Final Fantasy IX
Gameplay felt really slow and the story just couldn't keep me hooked. All the while I really didn't enjoy it visually, the art style wasn't very appealing. If it looked more like what the fanart portrays it as I might have been able to get behind it but it just felt like a step back for the series TBH.
 The art style took a while to grow on me, I fucking hated it at first. The game took a while to really get going for me but once it did, fucking hell I loved it. Probably my favorite Final Fantasy story tbh. The music was top notch too. I agree with you on the gameplay aspect though, to an extent. Battles take forever to load and characters are often left standing around doing nothing for a few seconds, despite all their timers being full...

STATUS UPDATE:
Have made my way to the first bell with relative ease, under 10 deaths so far. Decided that only 1 plunge attack would suffice for the Taurus Demon, and my rusty ass nearly got myself killed right near the end. That thin wall is the only thing that makes the fight have anything remotely resembling a challenge, it's easy to get stuck on a bit of rubble or roll right into it.
Grabbed the Claymore as soon as I could, and began pumping all of my souls into improving it with Andre. Got my shit handed to me multiple times by that asshole with the UGS up on the tower before I called it quits. I'll return to kick his ass later. Managed to backstab the boar twice in a row, lucky me.
The +4 Claymore absolutely demolished everyone in the Undead Parish. 2-shotting Balder Knights is always good, and the Gargoyles didn't fare much better either. I picked up Havel's ring after getting to Darkroot, so know I'm rocking the full Elite Knight set with the Grass Crest shield. I'm pretty much sorted for the rest of the game now, I think. Next stop is Pinwheel.
Does the game feel like a challenge any more? I love it to bits but I know the game inside and out. Just feels each time I boot it up I just write out a shopping list and then we're good.
Yeah it definitely does, there's still some enemies that can wipe their ass with you if you get cocky or fuck up a timing.

Okay, I never even went anywhere near Lautrec, I have not kiled the Gargoyles and yet my firekeeper is just dead now somehow. What the fuck? This didn't happen in my first run through.
He gets out by himself at some point. Did you do Blighttown first?

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi- I really hate how on-rails everything feels. It all looks wonderful, but goddamn it sucks to play.

My main gripe is the way Vegeta looked in that reveal shot. He just looks really blandly placed right in the middle of the frame like that. Maybe some angles or a different view would have been cool, because he's just kinda plonked there.

wanderer clothes/eastern armor, depending on whether i want fast rolls or more defense
winged spear/butterfly horn + grass crest or eagle shield (still trying to find a stronger greatshield that suits me)
power within, fire orb, combustion, cast light, aural decoy
wolf/cloranthy ring with havel's
black bow of pharis for aggroing grouped enemies individually (is that considered cheesy too? idc)
emphasis on VIT, END, and DEX
i shortly discovered that dark souls is a game that rewards patience and defensive play, and being able to attack while shielding is sexy as hell, so it wasn't long before i decided to exploit that—power within might be a strange spell to use, but it's carried me through some of the tougher bosses in the game, and i feel like a badass kaio-ken warrior using it, so that's a thing
i also have a boner for stamina regen, and it would be dope if there was a greatshield with that effect
when i get back to playing, i still have to fight nito who i only have a single attempt on
he seems pretty tough though, so i'm actually considering putting on the ring of fap, which i've been saving

I was just starting on my character to 100% Dark Souls 1 to have 100% in all 3, but maybe I'll just wait til this comes out. Although once this comes out I'll probably never play the original so maybe I should.
100% as in all trophies, or 100% as in EVERYTHING?
Just trophies, and I usually keep 1 of every item if it drops
Don't make the same mistake I did and accidentally get 2 of the same Abyss Greatswords. Made my 3rd playthrough pointless haha

Favourite armor set and weapon loadout
And none of that going nude shit, put some clothes on you filthy animal
-Mask of the Child -Elite Knight Set -2 Handing Claymore -Grass Crest Shield on my back -Havel's Ring -Chloranthy Ring I'm a simple man, really. I like swinging my claymore around with all the force two-handing it can muster, especially if I can get that sick sprinting R1 attack in. The Mask, Shield and Ring combo are all there for that delicious Stamina regen and the Elite Knight set is just sexy. I don't bother with magic or fancy shmancy weapons or builds, I just like getting in as close as possible and hitting people with my sword
