Smh the rest of my folder contains my yearly class reports by teachers. In every year there seems to be a pattern of:

-Me being creative and talkative

-Being shit at PE

-Having terrible handwriting

I thought they were in Gen 2 already but this gen just improved on it
Nah, all Gen II did was split the Special stat into Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense. The exp system remained the same.

From Bulbapedia:

The EV and IV systems were refined in Ruby and Sapphire, the maximum IV a stat could have was boosted from 15 to 31, and a Pokémon's gender was no longer determined by the IV of its attack stat, which made it possible to have female Pokémon with maximum attack IVs, something that hadn't been possible before. The EV system is altered from the former stat experience system, with all Pokémon giving 1, 2, or 3 effort points in one or more of the six stats after their defeat in battle, with a cap of 255 per stat and 510 overall. A Pokémon with 510 EVs will be awarded with the Effort Ribbon if it is shown to a girl in Slateport City.

I took that to mean the IV system already existed before but RSE  altered it

you must have been stacked as a kid to rip up your toys

I didn't actually do it, we had to come up with a fictional worst week. I didn't actually beat up JK Rowling

I'll archive this. Nice review; covered all the bases.

I probably would've brought up the revamped experience system, because this is the generation that introduced EVs and IVs. I also would've cited the inability to transfer Pokémon from previous generations to be a major con. I understand that it was because of the technological limitations of the time, but it was still kind of a huge bummer.

I thought they were in Gen 2 already but this gen just improved on it

From what I can gather, we had to write fictional diary entries for a 'worst week' and 'best week'. My answers are... questionable. My handwriting was fucking terrible so I'll do my best to translate.

WORST WEEK

Sunday: Beating up JK Rowling and stealing all her books

Monday: Ripping up all my toys

Tuesday: Ripping up my maths book into tiny pieces

Wednesday:  Destroying my 99 year old Grannys house

Thursday: Pushing an old lady off Niagra Falls

Friday: Ripping all my grandfathers hair off

Saturday: Finding out my teacher has a wig

BEST WEEK

Sunday: Putting ice cream down my friends pants

Monday: Raising money for charity

Tuesday: Being happy with what we got!

Wednesday: ?????

Thursday: Going to Africa and making huts for the poor

Friday: Helping frustrated teachers

The only complaint I have is more to do with how spaced out the islands on the right are. I think Pacifidlog and Ever Grande could have been brought in closer together a bit more.

Yeah. My complaints could be remedied by faster surfing speed and shorter distances. It wouldn't necessarily "fix" the problem, but it would certainly help.

*cough*
Alternate music would be nice as well.

You don't like the music? I find it quite peaceful.

Depends if it's voice or text. I wouldn't complain if Link spoke in Zelda because there's no voice acting anyway.

So... In conclusion, it's the best game of all time? Yeah I agree. Fuck MM. Also, before anyone say it, TP is good, but not as good as OoT. Or Wind Waker. Or A Link to the Past. Just saying.

Wind Waker > Ocarina > Twilight Princess
You almost had it.  ;)

I tried so hard to get into the first two, but I couldn't. I just can't. That's colorless one that was on the gameboy or whatever is even worse. Don't like Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks. And haven't tried the others. But man is A Link To The Past Good. In Fact, I'd put it as the third best Zelda game. Maybe second.

I'll probably get around to ALTT at some point but I'm not a fan of the top down view games, I actually got about halfway through Spirit Tracks
I like some games with a top down view, not all. Like The original Zeldas. Couldn't get into it. ALTT is great. You just might like it if you try it. But yeah, I wasn't trying to be a douche. But I really do consider OoT to be the best game of all time. It's the best reviewed game of all time too. After all these years. If that means anything to you.

I do see your point, if multiple sources give something a perfect score than it's got to be some indictation to its quality, there's no denying OoT is a fantastic game. I just enjoy other games more heh.

What do you do when you pick a character, then someone else picks the same character but starts clicking on it furiously in an attempt to make you change?

I just laugh and play them anyway, I got them first motherfucker

My first video game ever was Ruby, and so Gen 3 holds a unique place in my heart. The music in those games was some of the best game music in general. Great review, by the way! I'm glad you didn't revert to the usual "too much water" criticism. The huge sea that you could explore was one of my favorite parts of the game.

Thanks, I didn't think there was too much water at all. It even kinda makes sense since it's a tropical region and all...
