Is this canon to Sep7abowl.

It's Sep7abowl: Shattered Grid.

The events of the last one were so catastrophic that the timeline split itself into multiple canons in order to protect itself.

303
Mfw I get the first kill of the game during my intro and it's a double

I find myself becoming more and more of a lurker as time goes on, but I still appreciate most of the active people here. Still waiting for that super activity day that'll never come...

So... er, what's your perfect setup on a warm summer's day? It's hot as fuck here so I've just been sitting bollock naked in the garden

308
When this is is over, can someone make an Evangelion opening parody featuring key events from the game? I would actually pay to see that turn out well.

309
Also I started Summer Wars like 10 minutes ago. Will update after.

310
Mary and the Witch's Flower was pretty great. Basically a new Ghibli film in everything but name

Sprinted through DMC2 in about 4 hours. DMC3 feels extra good now.

I've never even finished 2. I got to the level with tanks and choppers and just stopped playing.

I watched A Silent Voice last night. It was actually really sweet. It's about a school bully who makes friends with a deaf girl at school. I don't usually watch that sort of thing but I enjoyed it, probably why I liked it more than you did, heh.

Speaking to Famitsu, Michi Okabe explains that the more you increase your style ranking while playing, the more you'll be able to hear from the game's songs (the example of a chorus belting out for hitting a high style rank was used). To break that down into layman's terms for those of you who don't play Devil May Cry, style ranking refers to combo chain ratings, typically codified in "grade school" format.

To use the last main series Devil May Cry game as an example (DMC4), you'll start at D (Deadly), then work your way into Carnage, Brutal, Atomic, and in typical stylish action game style, S, SS, and SSS. By working in different weapons and tricks, similar to the points system in Tony Hawk, you can boost your style even quicker.

A reader of ours noted that it sounds a little like a more involved version of the musical shifts in the incredible (and similarly stylish) Metal Gear Rising (even if that was at set times during a phase shift).

Fucking sick. Dynamic music to hype up the fight even more is always welcome.

I have never once seen something like this being performed in a dmc game, I need to go back and play them.

There's this Japanese player named Donguri who makes AMAZING combo videos. I'm not entirely sure they're human. They had to stop recently due to studies but their final video's pretty great.

I find the whole thing incredibly hard to believe. As in, I know it's happening, but it feels so fucking weird to actually see it that it becomes baffling. It's disgusting.

Are we hoping Vergil is gonna be the villain or a good guy? I'd love to fight him again, but the thought of him teaming up with his brother and son is too enticing.
I'm partial to the theory that Virgil took the devil bringer because Yamato was inside it. If he's anything good to the protagonists, he will probably be trying to accomplish the same thing as them (destroy the tree) but in his special Virgil way that doesn't leave room for friends/allies.

That seems to be the most likely thing. Dude loves his goddamn sword, who wouldn't?

I'm looking forward to trying this series out just before 5 is released.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts. The series' biggest draw is the crazy as fuck combos you're able to pull off. Some of the shit you can do by putting the time and effort into learning the game's mechanics and combos is insane.

I think the prevailing theory is that he's the one who took Nero's arm.

Speaking of Nero, here's some gameplay.

That's a given at this point but if you look closely, he looks like his corrupted form so he's either:

A) Still under some sort of remaining Mundus-ish influence

B) The big bad

I hope he gets restored though

I know id like them except maybe 2? Whatever the deal with that is.
DMC was so successful that Capcom turned an unrelated game into DMC2. Itsuno (mastermind behind DMC3) was brought in 6 months before release to salvage it, but most of the damage had already been done. Dante's emotionless, the levels are too big, melee attacks have too much knockback (making it hard to combo), guns are OP (turning boss fights into 20 minute long "hold square" challenges), and the story is pointless. The game sucked enough that Capcom put it at the very end of the DMC continuity so that they wouldn't have to reference it ever again.

There's a bit of speculation that DMC5 might take place after it, though. Mostly based on Dante getting out of Hell and how rough and dirty he looked in the trailer.
Can safely avoid it then. How rough is the first one? Ive heard its quite difficult.
If you're playing the HD Collection, then it isn't. Just keep in mind that its life started as Resident Evil 4 (3.5 beta style), so it has fixed camera angles and a sp00py mansion. As long as you don't play it like a musou game and learn the movesets then you should be fine.

Underwater combat and that space battle against Mundus still give me conniptions. It's definitely not as fun to play as 3, that's for sure.
