Let's use Game of Thrones as an example. Some people watch it later than others.
A new episode airs, and most of Steve's friends have seen it. Steve has to wait a few more hours to watch it because he's in work. On his lunch break Steves decides to browse Facebook on his phone and to his horror, scrolls past a major spoiler from the episode. Steven then proceeds to make a post on Facebook complaining about said spoilers. Should he have realized by that point that if most of your friends watch it, it's highly likely that someone is going to be talking about it?
Posting spoilers is still a scummy thing to do, but if you go onto social media in the aftermath of an episode that most people except you have seen, you're risking it. Shouldn't people know that by now?

i really appreciate when movie trailers don't show too much and spoil everything in the movie, but TLJ's trailer honestly feels like they're just stringing us along like mindless sheep, because they KNOW people are gonna see this movie regardless of what kind of trailer they put out
they may as well have just given us a release date
People lose their shit over a title reveal. People lose their shit over a fucking still image of Snoke's head. They know exactly what they're doing. They could make one of the shittiest trailers ever made and people would still flock to it. I haven't seen the TLJ trailer since it first got released and it did nothing for me at all.

Why make less episodes if you're just going to rush it
From what I've heard, they want to just be done with GOT at this stage to focus on their new project. They've been working on it for 10 years now and have been forced to write the plot themselves, which is something I'm sure they didn't think they'd be doing when they started.
The hack frauds should be grateful, they have created something truly special in this show for better or worse
