Something like Mass Effect. Didn't like KOTOR's gameplay.

Why does everyone think DS2 was so hard? Shrine of Amana unpatched and the snowstorm area in the DLC were terrible, but other than that?
it wasn't that it was hard, it was that rather than making interesting boss mechanics they just did stuff like "here fight multiple bosses at once "

Dark souls 2 is much easier than dark souls 1 imo
Yeah, boss design is definitely lacking in most of DS2. There still are certain gems though, like Darklurker.
I really liked the Pursuer fight. It was what taught me to roll. I just wish 80% of the other bosses weren't just his knight mates.

It's a lot more fast paced. Having played the previous Souls games really seems to have helped with my reflexes because I've got the dodging pretty spot on for the most part.

Ran out of blood phials. He was like Manus on crack....
I am shocked people did not know that trick with the guns. And I am a total noob with these games.
Practicing the stun against basic enemies. Feels so good when you pull it off.

The 2nd boss is tearing me a new asshole
Stagger him with your firearm!
Wait what, does it work like a parry or something?
Wait until he starts his swing, right when he is about to swing at you, shoot him. It will stagger him long enough for you to kick his shit in.
Damnit this is gonna take some practice. I miss parrying ._.

So, I actually already genned everyone's Pokemon. I haven't put them all in my game yet, but I should have them by tomorrow. They should all be legitimate and should all work, although I have doubts about whether or not the Diancie I genned for CK97 will go through (hopefully it will, because I used a file that someone else made that apparently works). If you don't already have me added, my friend code is 0318-7808-0693 (I'm also adding it to the OP). If I don't have you added, please post your friend code.
Not sure if I have you added from back when Pokemon Central was up and running

I like being heavily defensive with a few gimmicks to whittle my opponents down while healing myself. Occasionally hitting the opponent like a fucking truck then getting back behind my defenses. Pretty much how I play Pokemon and Dark Souls. Like I mainly use Pokemon like Goodra and Gliscor to poison my enemy while healing myself in the rain, then jab at them from behind my wall with something hard hitting like a Scizor. I guess you could call it an offensive turtle?

Sent you a PM last night, but like I said, no rush because I don't play much.
What do you use for rotating avatars?

My favorite show as a kid. Still watch it from time to time. The stuff with scrap was really interesting I thought, the trains were being mutilated and chopped up, then probably dumped somewhere or had their body parts sold. That's why Escape! Was such a great episode. Seeing Oliver get rescued from death was awesome.

Tyrantrum and Slurpuff. Slurpuff for Belly Drum + Unburden sweeps, and Tyrantrum for NO RECOIL HEAD SMASHES 5EVER.
I think Tyrantrum rose a tier because of that (could be wrong). I wanna try it, but I can't be bothered to breed for a shiny one.
Got any Rock Head Tyrunts spare?
I could breed one for you.
Want anything in return?
Nah, thanks though. Are you wanting it IV bred or do you just want a plain Rock Head one?
I'll take one with both IVs and Rock Head if you have any
I more than likely won't have it ready until tomorrow, I'm busy today.
Sure thing, I'm working on filling my dex anyway.

The biggest problem is its too easy to hack. You can edit your Save file and be done with the game in an instant.
Then there's no point buying it if you're just going to do that.

Just got past Spectre Knight. Holy shit that boss caused me more grief than Ornstein and Smough. I couldn't beat him  last night so I put the 3DS down, then got him on my 3rd try when I woke up this morning. Felt good brah.

So yeah, anyone here play it? Any tips?

I don't attempt speedruns, but I like watching the weirder ones.

YouTube

I like to take my time enjoying the game
I've never understood this irrational objection to speedrunning.
Chances are they've already done that... a lot of times. A lot of times. You see stuff like the video above? He's literally memorized the entire game.

Here's an excerpt from his comments on the run:
Quote
I've loved this game ever since its release in 2002, both the single-player and the multi-player versions. Although I pretty much stopped playing single-player after I completed it the first few times and then switched to the very brilliant and addictive multi-player game, I revisited the single-player version again in recent time – this time as a quite experienced strafe jumper and Jedi slayer thanks to extensive multi-player adventures. I believe it was in April 2012 that I first started looking for shortcuts and tricks for completing the levels faster. The first one I found was the canyon jump in kejim_post which shortened the level by a huge factor. I started becoming curious about how fast this game could be completed, and I suddenly came to think of some of the impressive speedruns I had seen previously, especially runs of Half-Life. I wondered if a run of JK2 had been made, and to my excitement a search quickly led to LLCoolDave's Padawan run on SDA from 2005.
[...]
Thanks also to IsraeliRD for timing the run. Last but not least, thanks to LucasArts and Raven Software for creating the best pc game I've ever played.
Speedrunning it wasn't the first thing he thought of when he bought the game. That's just silly. It's probably not even worthwhile to do that because incorporating the best routes and pickups into a run takes a lot of practice and a lot of patience, and beating the game hundreds if not thousands of time.
ah
