I'll just put this as its own post, I thought FF9 had great final boss(es). I thought Kuja was a great villain, I actually felt kinda bad for him in the end. While Seph and Kefka were cool in their own right, I found Kuja to be much more interesting as a character. I mean how would you feel if you were created as a weapon, then your creator basically trashed you in favor of a newer model? I'd be pissed too, and then on top of that, finding out that you have been packaged with an expiration date just so you'll die quicker? Nah, FUCK THAT MATE, I'm taking you all out with me.

Plus his theme was cool too. Not as grand or as epic finale sounding as One Winged Angel or Dancing Mad, but still awesome as it is.
YouTube

Now Necron... I mean yeah he just kind of showed up, but I guess he was always there, with death itself being an ever present theme throughout. I got such a rush fighting him, from his habit of inflicting every fucking status effect on you to his bizarre and ominous appearance, it all just added up to climactic final boss that was enjoyable as hell. Plus his music was awesome, I usually find myself listening to it.

Gwyn from Dark Souls 1, not because of how hard he was (he wasn't), but just the kinda sadness that goes with it

Wind Waker Ganondorf. Guy had a backstory that actually developed and I legit felt for him, and he simply lost all that kept him going at the end (Verb understands~)

Cynthia from Pokemon D/P. One of the few highlights in an otherwise meh game. Amazing music, and one of the hardest, if not the hardest champion in the entire series.

YouTube

Kefka and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 6 and 7 respectively. Easily the two best final boss themes in the entire game and the buildup to fighting them feels so great.

I dunno, I thought Necron had the best final boss theme out of them to be honest. Had this really eerie otherwordly feel to it that also gets me pumped up for the final battle against death itself.

Also Kuja >>>

Gaming / Anyone else like reversing their game covers?
« on: September 04, 2017, 04:27:22 PM »
So I was going through my Spider-Man trilogy box set the other day and noticed that the front covers for them looked like shit. I opened them up and saw that the inside covers looked way better so I swapped them around, and it gave me the idea of doing the same for games. I've actually found that some of them look nicer than the main cover, although there is a distinct lack of logos on the side of the box, but I can recognize them anyway so no big deal.

Here's the ones I've swapped so far:

The Flood / Went out for a nice little walk today.
« on: September 02, 2017, 04:51:32 PM »
Felt like going for a walk. Near where I live there's an area that's recently been developed as a golf course with new housing. It used to be a whole community that just sort of died out over time, leaving not much left.

Little history on Machynys Peninsula here from Wiki:

Quote
Machynys translates from the Welsh as "Monk's Island", and thus, local legend holds that the area was home to a monastery built by Saint Pyr in 513, although there is no concrete evidence of its existence. Another meaning of the name's origin is that it was Calle "Bach ynys" meaning "small island", and the "b" turned into an "m" (Bachynys-Machynys). It is further assumed from its name that Machynys was once an island, at least at high tide. It was shown as an island on a map of the Stepney Estate as late as 1761.

Until the mid-nineteenth century a single farm occupied the site, but after the Enclosure Acts enabled common land to be developed, industrial development began at Machynys with the digging of clay and the opening of the first of three brickworks. The row of cottages known as "Brick Row" was probably built then. After the tinplate industry got underway at Kidwelly and Llanelli, a tinplate works was built at Machynys in 1872 that became known as the "South Wales Works". Two other tinplate works opened on the peninsular in 1910 and 1912 and workers housing was built. The tinplate was mostly exported to America.

In 1951, a huge new tinplate factory was opened at Trostre on the other side of Llanelli. The Machynys factories could not compete and closed by 1961. Many of the workers moved to Trostre, their houses and the tinplate works were demolished. For many years the site remained largely derelict awaiting abortive regeneration plans.

The site has been transformed beyond recognition since 1960. It is now home to the Machynys Peninsula Golf Country Club which hosted the Wales Ladies Championship of Europe from 2005-2008. To the west of the golf course lies a recent development, Nicklaus Village (Welsh: Pentre Nicklaus), that consists of 175 New England style homes.Machynys is part of the Welsh Assembly Government's Llanelli Waterside regeneration plan.

The Llanelli Millennium Coastal Park, which includes National Cycle Network route 4, runs along the coast of Machynys. There are scenic views of the Gower Peninsula and the Bury Estuary from along the coast. Machynys Ponds, a Site of Special Scientific Interest notable for its dragonfly population, is immediately to the east of the village of Machynys.

Let's see those e-peens waving. What videogames have you completed on the highest available difficulty? Out of all them, what would you consider the easiest hardest?

From memory:
Call of Duty WaW
Call of Duty MW2
Call of Duty Black Ops+ Black Ops 2
Halo Reach
Mass Effect 2+3
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Batman Arkham Asylum/City/Knight
inFamous Second Son

All I can remember atm. Call of Duty WaW or The Force Unleashed were probably the hardest, with inFamous being the easiest.

I don't force myself to play games I don't really like, but if I had to make a top 100 list and I only actually enjoyed about 60 of them I'd have to fill the rest of the spots with 40 games I haven't beat but still played to some degree

Great games on that list. But I can't say I agree with the list.

Yeah, it doesn't even include the greatest game of the generation, The Witcher 3. With an expansive world, dripping with atmosphere, a game hasn't told as exquisite a story as this before. Never before have I seen such attention to detail in every aspect. CD Projekt Red really needs to be commended for every artistic decision within this godsend of a game. The DLC alone should be on this list, and in the top 10 if you ask me. I've bought the game 3 times on the PS4 just to show my support for this developer, who deserves nothing but absolute praise for this fantastic instalment in The Witcher series. Historians will look back at this game as the first true reappearance of God in the modern age.

I feel like you've been holding that one in for a while

lol what do you mean

I mean we all know Gator loves TW3, and that response had so much effort and detail put into it that I suspiciously believe that you've had that typed up for a while and have just been looking for an excuse to finally post it

No I just typed it now lmao

if it was premeditated I would have put a lot more effort and refinement into it

Oh

Dunno, just sounded like you've been wanting to say it for a while lol

I didn't even notice that. Being completely serious here, all jokes aside... How the fuck is The Witcher 3 not at the least, SOMEWHERE on this list?

I really have no clue, I don't even like the game and I'm baffled it's not on there, especially with its obvious preference for newer games.

yeah, i hate anime
This is the only sensible opinion to have tbh. I'm keeping up with Dragonball because it's Dragonball and so what, and even though I'm enjoying it, every single episode I have this "fuck anime sucks" moment like 3 times at least.
Dragonball is one of those things where it's an anime but black people and little kids like it so it's almost normal cartoon trash, but then the nips do weird shit.

Why do black people seem to love Dragon Ball and Naruto so much
