I decided to put my old story on hold until I can think of what to do with it, so I started writing a short story instead, ideas and critique welcome. It's gonna be a about a treasure hunter who warps around the galaxy to find treasure and shit. I don't think it'll be too long, maybe.


Here's the first bit

The crystalline mounds of icy snow crunched beneath the footfalls of heavy boots as the lone traveller made its way across the desolate frozen tundra. A shrill squawking sound occasionally screeched across the sky as a distant Icediver bird swooped low in a determined attempt to spear its waiting prey with its long, hooked beak. The air was cool and still, not even a whisper of wind dared to blow across the icy landscape that so few creatures called home. The sky above was a pale blue color that was stained with grim clouds, the planets and moons above vaguely visible, shrouded slightly by the thin canvas of clouds that veiled the looming worlds.

  The traveller continued to make his way across the frozen waste, paying no notice to the far off screeches and cries of the planet’s indigenous inhabitants, his mind focused on a singular goal. The traveller was a tall figure, encased in a suit of grey-blue armor that was coated with a thick layer of frost, though it was of no bother to him as the armor’s internal heat processors kept him at a comfortably warm temperature that refused to be overruled by the frozen planet’s glacial atmosphere. Wiping away a chunk of ice that had settled on his wrist-mounted Information pad with a gloved finger, the traveller keyed in a series of commands and a column of small panels appeared on the digital blue screen. Touching it lightly with his finger, he enlarged one of the panels to full-screen size and studied it closely, examining the display to carefully take in the information once more. Once content with what he was required to do, he switched the Info pad into standby mode and continued with his journey.

Do you have to add 'EDIT' before the edited part? I've seen a lot of people doing it and I don't really know why. It says edited underneath anyway.

Mine's Gangs of New York, with Shutter Island following at a close second.

Wow man, that was really good. Had a really nice story and characters, I didn't hate Tidus at all. Sure some of the lines felt a bit weird but for the most part it was really good. I think I actually preferred the new OST over the old one too, especially the new version of the battle theme, best battle music ever imo.

Here's me beating the final boss with a finisher timed pretty well with the music, heh.

So ya, what did you think of FFX? Is the sequel any good?

Anyone remember this? One of the coolest games I ever did play, shame we didn't really have any sequels :/

After finishing the anime last year I started reading the manga, it's pretty grim but I like the art. How long is the Golden Age arc exactly? I wanna get to the good stuff where he's killing demons and shit.

I...guess it could be good. Wish they'd have picked a better series like In Space or Time Force, but MMPR has the nostalgiafags foaming at the mouth so it makes sense. I'm not really looking forward to it but it'll be interesting to see how they do with it.

When Ian Lucas, a Welsh Labour MP, suggested the Union flag be redrawn to incorporate the Welsh dragon, he could not have imagined that this would be the "popular" choice.

Even at the height of Cool Britannia surely Tony Blair would have baulked at adopting this sunglasses-wearing, flame-haired cartoon dragon as our national emblem.


And to make matters worse it was designed not by a patriotic Briton, but a Norwegian.

But the internet has spoken. After Mr Lucas issued his appeal for new flag, the Telegraph was deluged with designs sent in by readers.
Some were serious, some scurrilous, some frankly ridiculous. Many came from Japan, where our competition sparked a national craze after it was picked up by a popular online forum.
We selected 20 of the best submissions and after a week-long online poll the sunglasses-dragon has emerged as the overwhelming favourite, with 55 per cent of the vote.
Even when we factor in questionable voting patterns (the winning design came from the back of the field with a surge of votes in the last few days) and the cynical wit of online readers, the choice seems a bizarre one.
The Norwegian designer, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he intended the flag to represent the union of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in a modern, cool light.

The dragon itself was inspired by a Japanese anime television series.
"It represents shouting "UNION!" and joining together; kicking reason to the curb and doing the impossible; fighting the power, and piercing the heavens," he said.

And what impact does he think the new flag would have on foreigners like himself?
"That the UK is awesome. I just hope they don't think it's a pirate flag.
"Actually, if this design is rejected as a common flag perhaps the Crown might file it for future use as a privateer ensign on the high seas or in outer space."

I know the article is old, but... still. As both a Welshman and a TTGL fan this would have been amazing.

I found some in the kitchen and I've been drinking it straight from the bottle, it tastes great. Got a nice bit of kick to it but I love the flavor. Does anyone else like it?
