]People did that. Not Islam. In fact, Islam had and has very little to do with science.

As for the poverty bullshit, explain to me why rich Saudis are the ones funding the terrorism?
Bad choice of words. What I meant was people of Islamic faith were the ones making advancements in science and medicine and the hub of it all what an Islamic city. It's just odd how it went entirely backwards.
Uncovering knowledge from looted Greek and Roman documents is not making advancements.
Last I checked, the middle east was doing its own thing as Europe was falling into darkness. The Europeans discovered that shit way later, and I don't think the Roman's did EVERYTHING, despite how much I love them.

Idk why he said skills, but the degradation part is right.
degradation is stupid anyways npnp.
I like it. It fits into the world where scavenging for supplies just fits.
i think its just a needless chore and a bit of a bore is all. removing it doesnt really make anything less complex or dynamic, by my estimation. definitely on the lowest tier of "things i should be concerned about" re: f4 anyway
I agree on the latter point. It's not going to influence my opinion on the game really, but I just felt it fit the world more so. It was a little treat for me basically that helped immerse me more.

It's hilarious to me how some people blame everything BUT the religion. As if it's irrelevant and has no bearing on their actions.

Apparently, my saying that there are other factors to consider on top of the religious beliefs means that the religion is not the problem.

Excuse me for not seeing the world through such a negative lens.
Oh now I'm negative for saying Islam is the problem?

Try attacking my points instead of me.
He's saying you're negative for you seeing it as the ONLY problem.

You guys on Sept seriously need better reading comprehensive skills.

As for poverty, no I'm not arguing that. Poverty is an effect of war, but I'm just arguing about war itself.

Sort of relevant here: every religion has its own shittiness-sanctioned-by-god. Why did plenty of other religions put much of that behind them, except for Islam?

I have an easier time believing that it's because the Middle East (well, to be more specific, most practitioners of the faith) hasn't had the kinds of societal advancement as other parts of the world have experienced, as opposed to it being intrinsic to Islam itself. (Religion and culture are intertwined and influence each other, after all.)

But then, that still doesn't explain why some Westerners will convert and change their views, unless grown adults are more impressionable than I realize.
Islam helped support science for the better part of a couple of centuries before backwards idealists brought it back down. Baghdad used to be the pillar of the scientific world. A hub for knowledge.

The problem is it didn't go through a religious renaissance like Christianity and Judaism did.

Edit: And like others said, it doesn't help that radicalism breeds radicalism. That and wars were constantly waged in those areas which helped stagnate it.

I'm reading over this and loving the arguing, but please no "kid" stuff. It just reminds me of some 14 year old on xbox who keeps saying "kid kid kid!" to sound superior over the fuck he's crying over.

Considering you live in a western nation, you will get highlights of European holidays. He never said it was the ONLY one worth celebrating, only that it contributed a huge amount on the world.

Speaking of which, I'm buying an i5 tomorrow specifically for this and future games.

Yeah I don't understand why they would need a CPU speed of that combined with all the other not quite impressive benchmarks. Doesn't seem right.
For frames and frames alone. An i3 would factually effect your GPU and limit it, so getting something more up to par would just make it handle easier.

Personally, I'm for this. Europeans didn't discover the Americas. People were already here.

Discuss
I figure the purpose of such a holiday as Columbus Day would be to celebrate the achievements of your ancestors, not to twist them into a means of white guilting everyone.

It's not about making you feel guilty. It's about stopping the whitewash of history that paints a monster as a great man. Columbus was as bad as Hitler or Stalin. Read up on what he did. He ordered the rape, murder and enslavement of an entire people. He committed genocide and got a national holiday out of it.
It's celebrated to commemorate the discovery of America in Western civilization. If it absolutely had to be change, "America Day" or "Discovery Day" would be much more accurate than "Indigenous People Day".

Again, America was already discovered by the people here. Indigenous People Day celebrates the ones who actually did it first
...and that's not the point of the holiday. Discovery by Western civilization. Columbus was a terrible man, but his discovery voyage is one of the two most important events of the era, and the most important for the state of the Americas themselves today. History would have played out much differently if it weren't for Columbus, and that's why it's celebrated: he's fundamentally the reason why we are here right now.

Why is Europe so special that it holds primacy over everyone else?
Probably because Europe shaped the modern world as we know it and dominated basically the entire world for centuries. It's the same as asking why the Roman empire shaped much of Europe.

Battlefield has maintained the same multiplayer it always has

It just doesn't have the humor and decent campaign Bad Company 2 had. That and BF4 had many many bugs at launch.

I'm really conflicted on V. Before the end of part I thought it was the best game i'd ever played, but that came with the expectation that the second part would expand the scope of the game but also wrap everything up, and then it just ends. It's like I paid $110 just to be blue balled.
It took you until the end to realize the story was horrible and the repetitiveness was agonizing? Well, better late than never.
For the first several missions in afghanistan there wasn't really anything wrong, it was quite slow but I figured it was building up to something interesting, since I figured interesting story events would progress like how motherbase would. I also thought that the skulls and skullface showing up every now and then was pretty entertaining, and the stuff with Huey and Sahelanthropus also looked promising (I had a rally good chuckle when it was revealed in game that sahelanthropus isn't actually rex like what the trailers had me expecting). With the torture of Huey it looked like Boss and Miller might finally go off the deep end, but that was postponed by the vocal cord parasites. Now when I had first seen the trailer that makes a big point about language I thought that whatever they were going for would be incredibly stupid, but the parasites ended up being a really good kind of stupid that grew on me, a giant robot nuke launching dinosaur kind of stupid. And then as that progressed and the infection started It really looked to me like Kojima was going to pull off something great, but then it quickly jumps back to Afghanistan and you sit through skullface's monologues, fight sahelanthropus, and then it ends.

Up until that point I was really engrossed with it all, all the different story threads just clicked for me, it had all of these things going on yet it I could keep track of it all and really enjoy it, and then it just sputters out and throws the end at you.
Glad you enjoyed it, but I felt the narrative was weak as hell compared to Peace Walker, the game before it on a console far less inferior. Lack of cutscenes made it horrible for me, codec not being there I felt ruined the pacing with the tapes that you basically had to sit inside the helicopter to listen to, character development was just NOT there, everything.

And to make it worse, towards the end of the game we get Peace Walker references such as Strangelove, the theme, etc. It's like it's just a reminder how the previous game was so much better as compared to this open world, horribly paced game with a story that was laughable.

The retcon for Venom was also stupid and ruined almost any vilification OF Big Boss post Peace Walker era, considering Venom is a better person than Boss.

Unless the game presents you with a hard choice, then yes. Like shooting The Boss in the head for MGS3, or... some other games I can't think of right now, but I know have done it.

I still want to know how power ups on the map make it like a CoD clone.
Because even though games have done things before CoD, it is a spin off because of how popular it is.

That's the logic.
