Speaking of things like that, I always felt Resident Evil 3: Nemesis did an amazing job at the whole hunter stalking his prey. You just got nervous when that music played and you knew he was either gonna be in the next door, or break down some wall. You knew he was near but you didn't know how he'd pop up and get you and he hits HARD.

That music. Just randomly walking then you enter a room and hear it and just stop.

The SA-X from Metroid: Fusion is this terrifying presence you know is lurking around the BSL station. It gives you player incentive to better yourself by collecting upgrades and contemplate Samus' agency in the series.

Those footsteps were the thing of nightmares
The SA-X taught me that monsters didn't have to be horrendously disfigured to be frightening.
This was also a good reveal of it because players learn how powerful it is and that it looks human but just not enough to be horrifying... It captures the ambiguity of the uncanny valley, I think.
And just thinking of those footsteps makes my heart race a little.
I always found that things that are monsters but look VERY human (or lifelike) but have just enough differences to notice they're not, are scary to me.

It's why I find lifelike dolls so unsettling. The fact things can look human and we see and identify it, but then realize it's "off" and doesn't have life to it, is what makes it unnerving I think.

Kefka from FFIV.
You mean VI.

Hated that character, btw. Easily one of the worst Final Fantasy games, too.
That's not how you say FF 2. 6 is right around 7 in terms of popularity.

Makarov
General Shepard
Both of their characters and motives were poorly written as hell and Makarov had 2 games to develop. Manendez was a much better villain in BO1 and had only 1 game to do it. MUCH better of a character.

Well, the main story mission can take an hour or two if you take your time.

Or just over two minutes if you know the objectives.
I was assuming he didn't.
Yep, I don't. Never played any of the games before and I haven't even seen any footage of Ground Zeroes.
You should probably play the older ones. They're better.
Maybe if I like this one. I really don't care much about the series and only downloaded this because it was free.
The other ones play nothing like this, but alright.

How da HELL is Handsome Jack overrated? He's great!
I think it's associated more with the writing in general and the lead writer of Borderlands. The guy is a clown.

Not really, you can see how he became Handsome Jack in The Pre-Sequel, it actually shows that he WAS the good guy trying to save people.
And in Borderlands 2, he is the GOOD GUY trying to reform Pandora. However him going insane definitely made it impossible for him to truly be the hero, no matter how much he believes it.
This is how he is well written, and remember.

Spoiler
He is capable of tricking you in the games, look at Sanctuary pre-flight. He killed Roman and took control over Lilith, and did get to and took control of The Warrior. If it wasn't for the player, he would have taken over Pandora easily.
No, I meant the actual lead writer himself of Gearbox, not Handsome Jack. The actual guy scared his wife away because he was so adamant about an open relationship and wouldn't shut up about it on social media, along with a lot of other things.

This guy too, considering he influenced so much in that universe and the ripple effects are still being dealt with some 120 years later.

I shouldn't have to explain who this is if you've been around for the last 15 years.

Yeah, that's that Sora guy's theme, right? From Fire Emblem?

It has a better story than the full game lol.

It makes a ton of references to Peace Walker, so if you don't watch the youtube movie on that or something, you'll be lost.

In terms of gameplay, it is arguably one of the best stealth games around. Just be careful, deliberate, and if you get spotted, running away helps.

There is almost always more than one path too. Last tip would aim in fps when shooting stealthy. Way more accurate and reliable.

If you're new to mgs, you'll miss some stuff in this, but nothing insane. Still, maybe ready a sinopsis or watch the youtube movies of MGS and Peacewalker to get a full view of it.

I love your username

Let's be honest though here, everyone in this thread that HAS conservative value's is probably moderate at best. The american republican party has gone faaaaaaaaar right. So far right that my father seems isolated from it, and this is a gun loving, 24 year marine serving American.

CNN is a joke anyway. Did you see how they handled the Republican debate? Now I know we all don't like Trump, but I want debates to be fair but it was literally Trump and friends. EVERY SINGLE CANDIDATE that wasn't Trump when they talked, somehow got in a split screen to show Trumps reaction.

It was a joke. That should have been obvious with the pre-fight style hype of it, and then them singing the national anthem for.... whatever reason.

Isn't declaring PO non canon enough to fix it?

Portable Ops is still canon, though. There are just parts of the game that... aren't.

Tbh I thought MGSV was going to utilise that but they never did. I thought Jaeger would surely show up at some point.
We thought Jaeger, Wolf, and a handful of other characters would pop up.

Nope.
