Just wanna go off topic a smol bit and say these New Vegas memes are pretty damn great. Always need a little humor that's not just "lol you ded" to make things a bit less shitty.

True. Though if it was a guy with a beard you'd bet people would be freaking out more. Just seems odd when we keep one upping the record for number of Americans killed in mass shootings, we really don't do much except shrug our shoulders and say "oh well" and do nothing.

Only thing I dislike is "ready to die??????"

But I feel that's my stigma from how they marketed Dark Souls 2, missing the entire point of the games.

Gaming / Re: Mass Effect 2 review: The most delicious filler
« on: October 03, 2017, 01:26:06 PM »
Isn't any 2nd movie/game in a trilogy more or less filler/adding to the original to add more substance to the ending of the 3rd?

Also, Mass Effect 2 over 3 all day. In both the music score, and the general direction the art takes. Mass Effect 3 for reasons I understand but am not a fan of, went way too gritty with just everyones looks, along with environment.

2 also had one of the best cliff hanger endings of any game I've ever seen. The way the music just queues it and cuts it off is perfect.

Side of the workers. The decline of labor unions has effectively gutted the Middle Class to almost being non existent. You need to be able to hold your employers accountable.

I get your point, but you forget the lobbying power of the NRA. They'll make sure nothing happens.
Nah. HPA/SHARE act is gonna die on the floor now and I'll expect some new form of the Clinton era AWB to be drafted up for when Democrats take the congressional majority back in the midterm elections.

NRA is still wishy-washy in their leadership on the whole black rifle thing too.
Black rifle thing? What's that? And I'm surprised they're even trying to pass silencers as easier to get. Like why?
Black rifle, scary looking thing, assault gun, you know. The NRA heads are all too willing to let them get the axe as a bargaining chip to keep their fudd rifles and skeet guns.

And because people want silencers. That's why.
Oh right, okay. As for silencers, I haven't done too much research into it, but the governor who introduced it is saying it's to not hurt the ears of hunters. I mean you could always use ear muffs, but.

Hillary really needs to just shut up. She's been running her mouth for a few months now and it's annoying. I mean she has a point, but the way she goes about everything is just ew.

I genuinely do wonder if anything will change about gun control laws now. Probably not, but we'll see.
If 20 school kids dying doesn't change it, don't expect random concert goers will

The best Mass Effect game
Eh, that combat does a hell of a job dragging it down.

I find it strangely endearing.
For me if you're going to review something you need to hold it up objectively for what it is and what the game is trying to accomplish, along with comparing and contrasting with games around that time that did the same thing. No amount of personal love should affect that.

The review is how I personally feel about the game though.
Fair enough

I feel it's important to be honest about this kinda stuff and not come across as a robot. I can see why people would hate it but I enjoy it
No it's fine. It's how you feel about the game personally, I get that perfectly. If someone like me can hate the shitty History Civil War game and love its faults, I can get this. Still think that game has one of the best menu's that captures the feel if the Civil War.

I legitimately don't see that much of a difference in the combat from 1 to 2
the camera typically sits a bit closer to Shepard, but it mostly comes to ME2 having a more developed cover system, a greater variety of weapons (despite having fewer), feedback in the controller and sound design giving weapons more impact, and animations providing more "realistic" movement. The last bit both involves how they move and how long it takes to. Vaulting for instance feels much longer in ME2 than ME1; it's not a bad thing because it fits the pace of combat well, but it loses the charm that ME1 had.
That and when you sprint you don't shoot a thousand miles an hour

Everything just feels tighter and more responsive than Mass Effect 1's combat, especially that cover system.
Yeah, but those are the reasons why I like Mass Effect 1's combat. I like how it feels really fast and loose, even if it isn't spectacular. I really enjoyed it regardless, it just werked.
Eh. I always felt it was unrefined and I just hated how the bullet reticule worked and how nothing felt like it had impact minus maybe the sniper (I love the sound it makes still. Glad they kept it). I felt they tackled dialogue and exploration first obviously, and the combat. I felt after 1, they found their groove and it was much more enjoyable for me.

I'll give money to a company and developers that actually have talent, effort, and thought put into their work.

Check this one. There`s a demo of game, which you can play even in browser. As about early access: the only major thing unfinished in this game is the story, here is post on developer site regarding that, if you`re interested.
Already bought it and patiently am awaiting the story to finish! But thanks for the thought. Va-11 Hall-a got me into a retro/cyberpunky sort of feel, and this art style reminded me of it. Played a bit of it and love the premise, characters, and writing. I just gotta wait.

I'm pretty sure there's dozens of mods out right now that do the exact thing as this
but this time you get to pay and support bethesda, so that automatically makes it the better option
I'd normally agree but they are clearly just ripping from the survival/wet/hunger popular mods that are out there. Sure it's all in one, but I read into it and it's mimicking right down to the wire on some of them, while only introducing like one new thing (which is an icon). It's just helping promote Bethesda's shitty talent stealing without credit and passing it off as their own, as they did for an update around when it was first launched. Lazy developers who pretend they let mods exist because they love the community, when really it's just to steal ideas now.

Fuck Bethesda. I'll give money to a company and developers that actually have talent, effort, and thought put into their work.

That is Soviet Union, I am talking about New Russia not making friends after the union fell through.
Like FAS 'Federation of Allied States' to counter NATO.
Kinda hard to make alliances and friends when your economy, borders, and government falls to ashes. I think they're slowly making allies now, but yeah it's in no way even within breathing distance of what NATO is.
Like I said, should have acted sooner while some nations still liked the idea of having some sort of union in Eastern Europe.
Too late now.
Well China and Russia could form some kinda cooperation like they're doing now, but even then it's not nearly as close as people like to think. And Russia invading Ukraine more or less killed any Eastern nations wanting to be part of them again.

Should have made their own union like NATO and get RU allies to join that and build RU bases on their territories.
