The amount of commercials is making this unwatchable. The whole point of this should be about the game, not shitty and cringey commercials.
American Football is all about commercials. Every break they try to fit one in.

Prediction: Commercials this year are even less funny than last year.
Commercials during the Super Bowl haven't been funny in years
Yeah, I don't know why I'm still watching.
It's very sad that people legit look forward to advertisements during a sports game.

That's why American Football has been becoming less and less appealing to me the older I get. I shouldn't have to wait 4 hours for a game to finish with over 50 commercials every game.
Probably for the people who don't like sports but are still hanging out with their friends anyway.
Probably

Just beat the game. Holy shit that ending, I cannot wait for the free DLC to answer some shit. That's a really great treat, rather than waiting an indefinite amount of time for a sequel to answer it.

Serious spoiler. Don't click if you haven't beaten it.
I need to know if that was Chris Redfield. Many are speculating it's Hulk due to Umbrella. But holy fuck I'm glad both Umbrella is back (possibly, though idk how after the world figured their shit out), and Chris got a makeover, if it is him. I liked his design in 5/6, but this one seems to be going back to his more grounded look of the original.

I just realized you never kill Lucas either. The son of the Bakers that pulls that Saw tier stuff? Unless I'm forgetting, he's still around.
Spoiler
You didn't kill Zoe either. But I think with Evelyn gone. It doesn't matter. They're dead now. At least it seemed that way. Jack said his family could be at peace with her dead.
Spoiler
I felt sorry for Jack. It didn't help he was a Marine and my father was too so I empathized more, if that makes sense.

Either way, yeah, I think you're right? But idk.

Edit: Lucas was in the lab though, feeding Chris and Umbrella info on Evelyn, so I don't think he's gone.

Spoiler
There's a file in the salt mines that implies that Lucas was cured and got away. Depending on who you choose to save you get to see Zoe die so I think it's canon either either way.

Also I think they're implying that umbrella Corp has been reformed and is now more of an anti BOW organization. The switching of the logo and the blue instead of the red, not to mention Chris's involvement, all heavily implies that it's not the same evil corporation.

Naming a gun after one of the main antagonists in the game is kinda weird tho. That and the name of the dlc also throws some shade Chris's way, maybe he's a double agent or maybe he's being controlled?

I'm really interested to see where they take this.
Spoiler
Pretty sure the gun is just a call back to Wesker, but the Umbrella thing is interesting. You'd think Umbrella's name alone wouldn't make them wanna come back, but the world was, ironically, safer when they were around, then when they collapsed and all their experiments got out.

Spoiler
Really It's just Chris's involvement that has me confused. I can see how umbrella is necessary and it wouldn't be the first time they've reformed or emerged again.

Doesn't look like a cover up, looks more like a new corporation is picking up where umbrella left off and umbrella is being rebranded as the good guys.

I wonder if this is going to change the canon, what with Chris being human sized and the BSAA being nowhere to be found.
Spoiler
Well they made him smaller in RE6 as well, so him getting another makeover isn't too far a stretch. I guess the DLC will answer a lot of it for us, but I'm pretty sure the BSAA is still a thing.

And thanks for the tips.

Really loved this game, beaten it three times already. Fastest run is 2:23, gearing up for a madhouse run. Next is the completionist run on easy and then it's on to get my shit pushed in on madhouse.
Any tips for the speed run?

I really liked Gervais' rebuttal of the "science is just a different god" argument - that if you destroyed all religious texts they'd never resurface, but that if you destroyed all scientific texts, they'd eventually start to be rediscovered.
It's already happened once with the Medieval times to the Renaissance in Europe.

Is this referring to the popular conception of the dark ages? Because the idea that knowledge was somehow lost and then found again later is historically inaccurate. The supposed dark age didn't experience a decline in scholarship and rationality; the existence and characterization of the "dark age" is itself considered a popular myth.
In the Medieval period in Western Europe, technology was indeed lost that the Western Romans had, that later moved over to the East with Constantinople. That technology was reintroduced into the West at a much later date.

I'm not saying technology didn't advance, because obviously one only look at warfare to see that's not true. But it's silly to act like nothing was lost, especially something as simple as basic hygiene, and sewer systems. Obviously this is a problem when a massive empire collapses rapidly, and thus all trade, infrastructure, institutions and population declined rapidly. That led to fractured governments, and no one could really make the effort to do what Rome did for a long time.

We had to wait for Charlameme to actually promote schools and universities again, and promote education, as the only record keeping since Rome fell was Monks in churches.

You're right in regards to me knowing already. I'm always aware in public tbh, regardless of where I am. I've gotten in a habit since around middle school that when I enter a building, to find the quickest ways out if shit goes down. Idk why, might be because of my older brother.

Because of that too, I like my back against a wall in public restaurants and such.

Anyway, I do get where you're coming from with stereotyping and all that, and while it's not true for everyone, there are reasons some stereotypes do exist (though some are downright silly, let's be honest).

It also depends on location heavily.

There are a couple billion Muslims. A vast amount are not terrorists. That's just statistical fact. I do agree it needs major reform though, but that entire region is backwards in general.

don't let anyone poopoo you for enjoying awakening, the game is fine even if it's on the easier side. none of the fire emblem stories are particularly good anyway so the only thing that matters is if you personally find it entertaining or not. i personally enjoyed the story to awakening because i like it when stories monkey around with time and parallel worlds.
My issue with it was it didn't know where it was going until the very end. Well, that and Walhart. His battle theme is fantastic. Funny enough though, I think I enjoyed Awakening more than Fates simply because of the characters, music, and... idk. General production of it. It gives me the old FE games feel with the map. Something about it. Fates is just really not that amazing to me.

I think the core cast just isn't as interesting to me as Awakening's were.

Spoiler
i thought it was kind of obvious that the point of the story was to avoid Lucinas future. the whole grima thing takes everyone by surprise in her timeline so she slides into yours to prevent it from happening. there are several events throughout the game that go differently because lucina is there to alter them and because of this the scene you see at the start of the game ends up playing out differently and grimas chapter ends shortly after it begins instead of progressing into the Future Past timeline where the 1st generation of characters is dead and the children have to survive in a doomed world.

walhart is one of those road to hell is paved with good intentions characters. his goal is to unite mankind behind him so he can take on grima, but he's going about it entirely the wrong way. this leads to chrom being heavily injured in lucinas timeline and it's a key reason as to why grima is able to rise virtually unopposed.

well awakening was pretty much everything IS wanted to do in a fire emblem game. they were told that it was probably going to be the last game in the franchise so it really became a passion project for them as they were under the impression that they'd never get another chance to do some of the stuff they had always wanted to do
Probably. I just felt like it was three different archs to an anime series where you have a mad king you gotta beat, then suddenly another nation out of nowhere is there just because you need to bridge the gap between that and the final act, which is what you mentioned in the spoilers.

It felt like since it might be their last game, they just threw in the three generic plots they've used from Fire Emblem games into one, without really any real reason for them to be connected, and were simply there just to be there. I usually like a grand overarching plot, and Fates does it better. It's just that the characters aren't nearly as interesting to me. Though honestly, only one character from Birthright (Setsuna) is the only interesting one to me for that faction. The rest come from Nohr, so that's probably why I don't enjoy it as much.

I'm currently going through Revelations, and it's okay I guess.

"hate speech" is very needed in today's society.
Not really. Whites shouldn't be going around saying blacks and jews are the devil and need to be taken care of. Promoting a race above another and advocating for bigotry isn't a very good thing to do.
well duh saying kill a whole race  isn't good. but we should be able to recognize when certain demographics of people do bad things. unfortunately labeling people by race is "hateful" when it at times can be legitimate.
Really? Not all muslims are terrorists, not all mexicans steal jobs, not all blacks are hooligans, and not all white people shoot up schools.

There is no such thing as being "legitimate" when you throw a blanket over an entire race and unanimously apply it to each and every single person.

Well I heard it was Baby's First FE title which was perfect for me since I'm a massive shitlord that can't into tactical gameplay despite being pretty good at RTS's.

Also Lucina is a QT.

It's not that great. The story doesn't even have an overarching plot until the last act which feels rushed. Only reason I liked it was for the music and core characters.

Everyone loves Lucina cuz broody character with the voice actress everyone knows.

Yeah it is babby's first technically, but it's gonna make the earlier ones rougher for you since you can't casual.

i don't think you know what broody is if you think lucina is broody

Your ideology in politics and views doesn't dictate how you do a job like this. If that was the case, all the mods would ban people who disagree with them. Regardless of what your side is, as long as you don't let your emotions dictate your actions as mod, you're fine.

Politics doesn't apply to everything in life :/

Idk why I gave this a serious reply. But it seems this site has had a run of mods kinda freaking out and then they lose the power. At least from what I heard, this was all before I came here. It's fine now though it seems.

Evolution is making things more convenient for us while further advancing in technology. It's always been like that. For example back in ancient days we had to hunt for food. Then we had animal husbandry.

Before we had to drag things around and it was an effort. Then we invented the wheel.

We're still evolving, but maybe not in as basic a way as you're thinking. Though modern medicine might disagree with that.

I still have a save file in Awakening I need to work on though.

If you were to start a Fire Emblem, I'd highly recommend Path of Radiance anyway, and it's sequel Radiant Dawn after. Characters and a story that isn't actually a yawn fest.

Or if you want a more simple one, Sacred Stones.
