I finished Mass Effect 2 and I just noticed that the game has a orange hue to it. It's not annoying or anything but its just very noticeable and I can't believe it took me this long to see that. However for a game that came out in very early 2010, overall it still looks pretty damn good.
It's also the last game where the composer was outstanding. Music was okay in ME3, but the only standouts were the slower toned piano themes and what not.

Composer for ME1/2 is amazing.

Sorry to say, but I think the Mass Effect magic we all felt honestly left with 3. I don't think Andromeda is gonna hit the right tones, but I could be wrong. The art direction being so wonky though is a red flag for me.

Yeah uh, sanctuary cities is sort of a bad thing. I don't agree with how quickly/brutally the government is kicking them out, but providing a safe haven for illegals in this context and then something like this, is a no no.

CNN is flipping shit they're not allowed in the press room. Other reliable news sources still were such as ABC, NBC, BBC, WSJ etc.

The headline just makes it sound like he ended the First Amendment. Another example of the "sky is falling" thing I mentioned yesterday.

To be fair, CNN really did tip their hand to obvious bias this past election.

Again, that isn't what happened.
What happened?

Eh. I'm still not impressed or consider it a groundbreaking discovery.

Then again, space and such was never really an interest to me.
Just wait for the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to be launched in 2018 (hopefully, they keep pushing the date back). I learned more about that in class today and THAT shit has me excited. It's gonna be able to see so far out into the universe, along with offering an INSANE amount of resolution. Main goal is to see how galaxy's and planets form. Hubble's glass scope is 2.5 (6?) meters I believe. JWST is 6 times that size I think.

It's going much further than Hubble is too. Figured I'd make this post to make you have something to actually look forward to. It's just exciting to me to know we're launching new advanced tech into space so far out, as opposed to Hubble which is almost 30 years old. That's ancient.

I've only ever come across an issue with overpowered gear once. Dude went 17-0 in dominion by camping our spawn and spamming revenge mode.

We ended up winning though because he was too busy going for kills to actually play the gametype. I killed him right before the team broke.
Have you prestige yet with a character? Because once you do you seem to run into level 100+ gear level 3 characters who are OP to the point the game is just not fun.,=

Only one character but I see them all the time, most are pretty bad regardless. Gotta play all the characters to learn counters.
I'm glad you mentioned this, because this is the issue.

In the final product, after playing it for a long time... gear kind of ends up sucking the fun out of it.

Fights go from being a steady back and forth that lasted a while, with both sides able to tip the scales at any given moment, with plenty of opportunity for come backs to being a game of "Who gets the first combo off?/Gets revenge in a 1v1?"

You end up killing or getting killed absurdly fast, sometimes in one or two combos, and just isn't fun to me.

If you're railing on someone and then they pull a revenge out and hit you 3 times and you're dead, that's not fair. I get you could say "just keep blocking", but why should they suddenly get a massive advantage just because they're losing, and now they're SUPER OP to the point it's insanely unbalanced?

For the confused english speaking viewers: This is a japanese tv series based off the real story of a Japanese FFXIV user. He got his dad (in his 60s) to play FFXIV and met him on game without telling his dad that it was him & led him all the way to the binding coils of bahamut. The japanese user told his story on his blog and that got made into a book, which is what this tv series is based of.

I never understand the appeal and public joy in finding such discoveries.
it reinforces the fact we may not be alone in the universe and we can explore new places in space. but i also partially blame nasa for blowing things out of proportion like they did with the mars "discovery" a while back

I mean, is it really a surprise anymore that there are other planets with a similar size and such as Earth? It was cool the first half a dozen times, now it's no more surprising of a discovery than some new fish in the ocean.

Let me know when we actually find something new or get people onto another planet though.
It's more so the fact it is so close. Only 40 light years away. That's basically in our own backyard. It'll allow us to study these planets and see things such as that, and though we speculate through pure statistics that life has to exist on other planets, it's an entirely different factor when you actually have concrete evidence it, along with water on said planets, exists.

I should make a review thread of this game, because I know I easily could, but here is my quick thoughts on something. Keep in mind this is just gameplay from a balancing standpoint. I haven't even began to touch the shitty servers.

I feel like a lot of my gripes would be eased if there was just a 4v4 gamemode without all this gear stacking shit.

There would still be issues, but not nearly as much. I'm really getting an Assassins Creed tier balancing issue feeling going here. If anyone doesn't know, the playing field is completely skewed in favor of a higher leveled player in AC where they can use abilities or build up abilities that just make it much easier to fuck people over, and even shoot them from across the map.

This game is doing the exact same thing. I was doing a 4v4 tonight by myself and a guy joked his "bomb build" was fucking stupidly OP and apologized in advance (we were all just chilled out, no salt), and literally every 20 seconds, he was calling in artillery.

HOW in the fuck is that fair? If this is a fighting game, what is the point when you can spam things like that or just completely remove the core aspect of the game? That is my fucking issue. Would Soul Caliber be fair if someone could just randomly hit 1 button and make you nigh invincible and hit 2 times for a kill? No, you have to play within the confines of the game which gives people an equal playing field. You lose because of your skill or lack thereof (or someone cheesing one move).

1v1 has no gear levels to keep it fair

2v2 has no gear levels to keep it fair

nothing else does, and it's retarded. Not even an option to.

I should also note in the closed beta, my friend pointed out he feared it'd be like Assassins Creed, and I kinda downplayed it saying I think it'll be more balanced. I can say now that he was right to be concerned, and if they don't balance things soon and fix a lot of issues, the player base is going to drop off drastically.

To tell the truth

even though he lies about almost everything he says and there is easy data on paper to prove it.

Let's also not forget that Project Veritas just dropped a tactical nuke on CNN with over 119 hours of leaked footage.

That audio that had nothing of interest?
There's 119 hours of footage, there's guaranteed to be something in there.
Good luck shifting through all that crap. Let me know if anyone finds anything worth talking about.

Are you honestly this big of an idiot?

I love how there's video evidence off cutoffs happening just to show it's not a coincidence but you fuckers still deny it lmao
I don't deny it. CNN is pretty shitty and tipped their hand this past election, but in terms of stuff outside US politics (the same with Fox News too honestly when, which is odd), they're pretty solid. I go to places like BBC and NPR when I actually want some info on politics.

The main ones anyway. I'm all over the place with news sites now a days that really, that just getting the collective mass of information that is consistent across all platforms is the best key for it.

Good points. Illustrates the problem we're looking at with echo chambers and confirmation bias very well. People tend to trust only what they want to hear and it's really fucking depressing. Wherever we're heading with all this, it really isn't anywhere good. The current state of news and social media is giving way too many idiots way too much leeway and power.
That's the problem with the internet. It gives every idiot a voice.

I dunno, the government might be crazy enough to take someone with them before they collapse.

But even China is really getting sick of their shit, because South Korea and China have a pretty great trading relationship and both have a common agreement that they're not too fond of Japan (of course China loathes them. Korea is more so annoyed with them).

So China is in this awkward position of supporting a nation that's the key enemy of South Korea... while also having a rather nice relationship with South Korea (though that's been strained last year due to the missile defense thing from the US)

http://money.cnn.com/2017/02/22/media/trump-media-trust-quinnipiac/index.html

Quote
That is the finding of a Quinnipiac University poll which shows a dramatic split between Republicans and other Americans when it comes to matters of trust.

Quinnipiac's survey found that 52% of voters trust the media more than they trust Trump, while only 37% said they trusted Trump more. Among Democrats, 86% said they trusted the media more than the president. But among Republican voters, the balance is flipped: 78% said they trusted Trump more than the media, while just 13% said they trusted the media more.

This is a depressing article at how many people actually favor a habitual liar more than media (and no I'm not saying the media doesn't lie, but they are at least more grounded in reality than Trump ever has been).

But at the same time, it's a wake up call for the mainstream media to really work on two key issues

1. Just report the facts and stop having the table talk discussions on how wrong one side is. Let the American public decide that for themselves.

2. Recognize how far journalism has fallen since the introduction of 24/7 media in 1980. There are many things that contribute to this of course, with technology being a massive part of it (cell phones), but at the same time, news sites need to realize that getting the most clicks and ratings is what is making people hate them more and more

Hidden #3. Stop acting like the sky is falling with every single report, otherwise when it really is falling, you've made the public so damn numb to your sensationalist titles and claims that they don't respond how they should.

I don't know how people enjoy so much violence on TV and movies.

Rape and castration? Really? Does that really enhance the plot to the point where you can't do without a rape scene? I doubt it, and it just seems like it's trying to be edgy. That's why I won't watch a single episode.
I find it funny Americans love violence but scoff at the idea of a shoot with an ass being shown. Because seeing blood and people being beheaded is far more sane than a naked person.

The Knights need to man up as a faction. Every time we start gaining traction on territories the next update has the weebs and the vikangz dominating us.

Pray to Christ for our salvation brothers. Deus vult.

iirc it's the least populated faction so it has the worst timezone coverage
If that's the case, it's all the more impressive that they won the beta.
