If you're so pro religion, go to the middle east and look how it works out. Secular governments have proven over human history in the more modern age to be far more tolerant and successful than non secular ones. It's exactly why Turkey is one of the few, if not ONLY Muslim country not entirely ass backwards.

That's fantastic. I'm not getting into the first part just because I'm lazy, but I can understand your view on marriage. Just not the thing about secular vs religious thing. But as for the 2nd, no it wasn't a direct attack to YOU. You took it as that. I said that to literally everyone in general. I didn't say "lol look at this Max fgt and his stupid beliefs, right fam?"
Relax. 12574
Serious / Re: Why is religion still relevant?« on: February 28, 2015, 12:16:20 AM »
Pretty much what LC said.
Basically "I don't like this because they're not promoting religion" is what you're sounding like, Max. I don't give a fuck what religion you are. No old ass white men should be able to dictate what the hell a woman can or can't do with your body. Same with religion in school. It doesn't have to be there. Go to church and get over it or go to Catholic school. I hate the Roman Catholic Church anyway for way too many reasons. 12576

If you're someone I know elsewhere, I'm not trying to be a dick, but I do get pissy when people mock my religious beliefs. You taking it personally like it was a direct attack is the funny thing here. I was calling out both religious and non religious people about their non negotiable thing. It's retarded. Edit: And I'm sure half the people posting these in this thread are basement dwelling virgins anyway. 12577

Let's also listen to them saying women having any power in the Catholic church being wrong, and then turn a Saint into a whore because women are bad! 12579

Oh you watch dub? You're a casual fan, I watch original. Oh you beat Sif? Pfft, try beating him with just your fists. Oh you watch things like Sword Art Online? That's entry level shit. Oh you're using the Zweihander? That's such a noob weapon. Oh you're watching Fate? That's such a casual anime. You need to watch the behind the scene screenings of an anime not out yet to be a true fan. Oh you beat the game? Try beating it lvl 1 with only pyromancy flame. Seriously, as much as I love Souls, the community is full of smug pricks, and yet.... I still love them. 12587

Quote Mr Nemtsov, 55, served as first deputy prime minister under President Boris Yeltsin in the 1990s. He was shot right in front of the Kremlin too, and 2 days before a rare protest to oppose Putin and what he's doing. My thoughts? I think it was Putin's men who honestly did this. Someone with a history of getting rid of political opponents, as well as him dying 2 days before the rally? I doubt this is coincidence. I just hope he becomes a martyr now and they protest against this wanna be Czar. 12588

I do find it rather depressing and infuriating that they're destroying things from the oldest empires in the history of mankind. Shit that's lasted over 4000 years, gone. Just like the Nazi's with the Library's in (whatever country I forget) in World War 2.
I still say ISIS is worse than the Nazi's, if only for the fact that the Nazi's had an agenda, a stable government, and made average life for the German citizen better than it had been the last 30 years. Not defending Nazi's since they took away free speech for those Germans too and obviously the holocaust, but yeah. 12591
Serious / Re: Are these people fucking serious?« on: February 27, 2015, 10:03:17 PM »You'd think ISIS would have been smarter than that and sell them on the black marketThey usually do but these artifacts were too heavy apparently, so they just destroyed them for propaganda. 12592

Serious / Re: Chinese military buildup is really not as big a deal as people think it is.« on: February 27, 2015, 01:13:22 PM »What if they ally with sympathetic states? Maybe Russia or Iran? North Korea?Much to Russia's disappointment since Russia used to be Communist as well, they were never close allies for whatever reason. China is mainly investing in North Africa for whatever reason. Perhaps they see bit trade there. Good for them. As for North Korea? China is in an odd situation with that. Their relations with South Korea are actually pretty well, so the fact that China ALSO "puts up" with North Korea puts them at an odd spot there. Much like the US is both great friends with Japan and South Korea but they bicker all the time. In the end, both always say "both sides need to calm down" to stay neutral, almost like a big brother of the situation. Anyway, China would never really ally with North Korea. At best they tolerate them because they don't want a democratic government supported heavily by America right by their doorstep. 12594
The Flood / Re: Do you dislike sports?« on: February 27, 2015, 01:07:21 PM »
I can understand why people dislike watching it. I can't watch baseball at all on TV because it's just so slow paced and the commentators sound like they want to kill themselves.
However playing it is enjoyable. I think it's because of the direct interaction. Much like a lot of people don't enjoy watching Let's Play's for the same reason. 12595
