It started going downhill for me when the "older bro" died
It actually went downhill after the time skip.
I thought it was all amazing. Like, I thought both halves were great. I thought Kill la Kill's first half until the Elite 4 was boring as hell. 2nd half I loved.

It's a great anime. Ignore that stuff. If you watched KLK you'd like this, mainly because it's made by the same people and it's widely seen as their best work. Even the not so huge on anime guy (the one I got to watch Index) was in love with it. I could give you a link if you'd like

I don't think you understand the concept of a quick death. Burning alive is one of the worst ways to possibly die and 30 seconds probably felt like an eternity for them.

As long as it has a good sized setlist, I can't say I won't buy it. I think you listed Rock Band II as one of your favorite games ever. Instead of the third one. Are they all not literally the same thing, though? Just with more songs?
Besides new graphics/animations, they bring slight new features on how they handle career and instruments. Rockband 3 did a big one with the drums and keyboard, but they don't release a game every other year like Guitar Hero did so it's not as bad.
