The only games in that series that I hear any praise from at all are III, VII, and X.
And by III, I think I mean VI... because that's what it is in Japan... Right?
Some didn't make it to the states, so they kept it going in the order we got it in the states until 7 came out and realigned them all. The ones that get the most praise are (and going in the actual order) 6, 7, and 10. Though personally my favorites are 4 and 7.

Eh, only if you try to move shit too fast I would think. If you actually want to hang out, have fun, etc, then I don't see the problem at all with it. Sure the initial conversation/meeting may be awkward, but if you really have gotten close with someone, confided in them, etc, then I think it's different. I know of a few instances where people met online and then met irl and actually keep a relationship going.

1. It's like FF 13 in that it's nothing but narrow pathways for god knows how long.
2. It's way too easy. Holds your hand a lot.
Not to mention the horrific narration.
Ehhh I enjoyed the story. It was a great game and I'm playing through it again (HD remake on PS4) and enjoying it to the fullest. But to say it is the best FF and not acknowledge its flaws is a little silly.

I don't think they're pansies. It's like the opposite in terms of what they need to do. Rugby requires some good physical strength (and good tackling skills. Learn about that, NFL), where as Soccer/Football requires some insane stamina/touch for the ball.
