fallout 4 looks great, gives me hope for the next elder scrolls game
> Forgetting the things stripped from Oblivion to Skyrim
it's been more casual each installation. calm yourself, child
i know i know, it's just giving me hope fam >.>>>>>
if they're pushing fallout in the right direction maybe that'll be the case with TES
We don't even know the nuts and bolts behind Fallout 4 yet, so don't go thinking it's the bestest thing yet. From what I see, there isn't even a stats thing like the other Fallouts, and that pic said "Science perk 1", so they might be Rim Skying it. Speculation, but knowing Bethesda I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. Expect the worst, hope for the best. Remember

They gave their protagonist a voice?
Well, there already goes one of their 5 voice actors they can't recycle.
Well the male protagonist is Troy Baker aka "The guy that's been in every game for the past half decade"
I wanna know the voice actress for the female. Like, I'm really curious.

You guys can bitch about the voice acting all you want like I did earlier, but I ask for your attention on more pressing matters.

I saw no skill tree, and I see "Science rank 1", which makes me think they're pulling a skyrim with the skill tree. Aka: Ruining the very foundation that has been there since Fallout 1. That and stripping it more. Again. Just like Oblivion to Skyrim.
all assumptions
And I'm right to be suspicious after the stripped thing we had that was Skyrim. Assuming all the voice acting will be "immersive" like you said is also assumptions. That word is a double edged sword. Use it well.

Also, Howard admitted they were scared to give the protag voice and offered some things on the interview.
Over 13,000 recorded lines over the course of two years
And they didn't want it to restrict their writing in terms of choices
Still, I wonder if he means 13,000 total (probably, though male and female both say the same shit), or for each person. Also want to remind everyone Fallout 3 and NV also had like 3 (mostly 2) options for a reaction to what a character said, so it is a bit more varied. Just ugly in how it looks since consoles need buttons everywhere. They striped the UI on that.
Regardless, I am a hopeful lass. We'll see how it turns out, but as a Fallout nerd, I was at first very against it because I feel voiced dialogue restricts your choices (See Dragon Age 1 to 2), and it restricts who you're going to role play as specifically. Someone brought up Shepard from Mass Effect, but really you're either super nice or a dick in the blackest of whitest ways. Fallout is different.
Regardless, what Howard said kinda eased my tension somewhat, but Howard IS also known to exaggerate shit... (see Skyrim), so yeah... Other than that and that Rank 1 thing you see above me, I love the rest of it.
If they remove the skill tree though I'm fucking done. Voice acting is one thing since it varies from person to person, but removing the very foundation of the Fallout character series? No thank you.

Let us pre-order a game who's gameplay, and info we've heard nothing about.
Let me just ask a guy to stick his dick in me from a random ass alley without protection or checking it out. I'm sure nothing bad will happen.
If you didn't get the horrible analogy: Pre-ordering is a fucking bad idea. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVEN'T SEEN A THING!!! Even if it is from a series you love.

you guys notice the theme used was a mix between both FO3 and NV? Maybe my inner HaloFollower, but what's Obsidian doing at the moment? They could be helping perhaps?
Fallout openings usually default to the Inkspots. I know Fallout 1 did it, and so is this one. But they always have "Maybe" involved somehow.

Much as I'd like to disagree with Verb on VATS, he does have a point. On PC it's cool because you can actually aim and shoot (at least in NV), but on console you basically NEED VATS to play the game. But because of that, it gets boring after like the 10th time, so you're just stuck in this cycle of slow mo bullshit.

The thing is I LOVE shooters, I just can't get into fallout. the mechanics for shooting feel...weird.
The guns are very clunky, which is very noticeable if you play FPS's
For example you'd expect to be able to tap fire automatic weapons but theres a weird delay.
This
This this this this this.
This is the problem and I never knew how to describe it.
I know your problem. Consoles. You need VATS in Fallout on consoles because it's so clunky, but on PC it's fine.

Is there a mod to remove guns? >_>
It's not supposed to be shallow as fuck Skyrim you pleb. If you're not into it you're not into it. Simple. Don't make it something it's not, because no, I doubt there is a real mod for that.

I find it silly how you think the moment guns are gone, the government will oppress
*looks at all the Western Euro countries*
so much oppression
when did I ever say that?
They're already oppressing all of you, gun rights or no, you're just too used to it to comprehend that.
Well then you better get over here and liberate me so hard.

One thing I do like though his they got rid of the "next gen" effect. By that I mean everything was brown and gray. I'm happy the colors are actually there and not some shitty green/orange filter... At least from the trailer.
I'm really not taking anything from this until the 14th when we actually SEE something.

Just waiting for the 14th at EEE THREE for actual gameplay.
I've been hearing rumors that it's still running on shitty gamebyro, which would be a fucking shame since it's so old.
But I'd still enjoy it.
