Yeah, a game that was made for last gen, then ported to next gen

with devs even saying last gen frustrated them because of the limits they had to put on it

Good pic
I think it's this new thing called a "joke"
the hell is that?

get it out of here

Better to go to a game where two top Euro teams go head to head rather than some Big team v a small one. Especially if it's not at Old Tafford.

Edit: Also, Man City is better now

I wasn't on about competition. I never was. I'm talking from the whole game in general. Someone like me used to play competitive, but then sat back and mainly played custom games with tons of friends. That's why I think Halo 3 great. It offered something for everyone, and promoted creativity with force and custom games. It encouraged people to think outside the box.

okay screw it, I guess we're talking about it

I was gonna link 8's in replace of 3, but decided not to :(

Yeah it's lovely. FF 14 does it great too. I personally like the main theme of the series

I'm serious.

The CoD 4 AK-47 is known to be one of the best-sounding realistic gun in games.

I think it's probably the worst Halo and Halo 2/3 do a much better job at the arena gameplay.
That doesn't matter when CE still takes more skill to play successfully.

Quote
Halo 1's MP was annoying to me because of the lack of weight to anything. Guns felt like you were shooting water at people, vehicles were cancer to drive, movement was meh, and melee was atrocious. I think Halo 2 fixed a lot of that, and Halo 3 fine tuned it all.
I agree.

Still a more competitive game that it's sequels.

Quote
And had Custom Games/Forge, which expanded that game soooo much. Something only Reach was able to match (Halo 4 forge sucked).

Not really relevant, but whatever...

Guys this isn't a Halo thread.
Competitive =/= better honestly in most cases. And yes, if you're calling a game "good" or "bad", then all of the content on the disk should be brought into question, not just the aspects you're willing to focus on. So it is relevant entirely.

Everyone in school thought I was a girl (as a joke obviously) Because I never flinched when they went to hit me in the nuts.

"He never flinches!"
"Dude, you must be a chick!"
"what the hell"

I didn't flinch because I knew they wouldn't actually do it to me.
That...

That's just weird. Not you, your friends.

it's just obviously the best Halo and the standard for competitive Halo.

I dunno, I'm not too worried about the story. This game is obviously heavily inspired by Portable Ops, and that game still managed to have a great story while doing missions in open ended areas like this game (obviously not to that scale, but you get it).

So I wouldn't be too worried. I would only be scared if Kojima wasn't directing it. Odds are you'll get your missions to do small things like take out people, rescue someone, get some gear, etc.

And then have a your "story" missions, where it is much more scripted and what not.

I'm also curious about one more thing. Miller was like, Big Bosses best best buddy ever of all time.

I wonder what happened between the two of them that made Miller help Solid Snake in MG2, because he says Big Boss is a monster. I guess by that time, Miller had found peace (married, had a kid, etc) and realized that the world wasn't just all about war.

Big Boss on the other hand could never understand that.

]In MGS2 he really was possessed by Liquid's ghost. By MGS4 he replaced Liquid's limb with a cybernetic one, then hypnotized himself into acting like Liquid to keep up the act. By the end of the game, during his fight with Solid, Ocelot's original personality started breaking through, going from entirely Liquid, to Liquid Ocelot, to just Ocelot again.

Personally I liked it better when he was actually possessed, since, y'know, his dad is a medium and it's more interesting to have Liquid actually come back to battle his brother. But, no, it's just Ocelot pulling shit and ruining an interesting plot point. Also, if his impersonation was correct, Liquid was a complete manchild.
Spoiler
Yeah Liquid was a stupid little shit. There was nothing dynamic about him other than being some stupid cry babby. But nah, I like the idea of Ocelot fooling the Patriots. It is much better if you ask me since that is what he was doing all along

So let's talk about Ocelot. I'm confused about that fucker. I mean, I know his loyalty was always to Big Boss because he admired him like Big Boss did to The Boss, but uhh

what's the deal with his Liquid thing? I know he used hallucination, nanomachines (son), and various other things to actually bring about Liquid, but what about in MGS4? Doesn't he lose the hand? I have a hard time believing two personalities formed into one fucker. I also read this.

Spoiler
Quote
In MGS4, he doesn't have Liquids hand, or voice. I think by the time 4 came around, Ocelot had lost the hand and he then pulled his mind back together and went back to the normal old Ocelot. But even then, he continued to act as Liquid to continue to fool The Patriots. With him taking control of the PMC's and trying to turn The Patriot AI's off, along with the worlds guns, I don't believe that was what he was actually doing. He continued to stay as Liquid and he made a plan The Patriots couldn't predict, he made sure his plan was not able to be solved easily by The Patriots. With him doing this, The Patriots put all their focus on Ocelot, and all of their programs, problem solving abilities, and predictions were used to attempt to predict and destroy what Ocelot was doing. With that, The Patriots were heavily distracted. This allowed Solid Snake and company to come in and destroy The Patriots with very few obstacles.

Ocelot had to make his final mission in life just like his mothers final mission. He made himself look evil to people, he had to kill people, he had to do many horrible things that left him hated by people. Ocelot was always a double or triple agent, he always lied about what his true goals were so his cover wouldn't be blown (Just like the PMC's). But in reality, his spying, backstabbing, and planning was so Solid Snake could kill what he and Big Boss hated the most.

Ocelot IS the hero of this series.

And that honestly makes a lot more sense.

You only played a few minutes in a game which takes about 20 plus hours or so to complete.

I don't think you really have a good fix on the story as of yet. Put more than a few mins in and then judge it. Maybe an hour or something. Sure the mechanics are old, but once you get used to it, it is really fun.
No, I knew what the gameplay was. But I thought it might be like ME1 where I can put up with not too great gameplay for story.

No such luck. I got them for free on GOG so I haven't lost anything.

MGS 1/2 Solid Snake is great and intellectual as heck. I loved him.

MGS4 Snake was a shadow of his former self, slowly dying off. Rightfully so, but yeah. It is obvious as someone else said, that Big Boss is Kojima's fav.

I dunno, I like Big Boss's fall from grace and sanity that they had in Zanzibar Land. He was always an anti-hero, and as time went on he became a shadow of his former self.
