Serious / GOP Debate Tonight« on: February 25, 2016, 09:39:53 PM »
I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet. I assume because we're getting a bit sick of all the debates. But I find this one interesting because it's basically a last gasp for Cruz and Rubio before Super Tuesday.
So yeah, CNN is streaming it if you're too lazy for TV. Plus I just wanted to talk about it. 123

The Flood / Putting my dog down on Wednesday« on: February 07, 2016, 11:05:26 PM »
My father told me tonight.
Basically he just seems lifeless now a days. Can barely walk, struggles to sit down, arthritis probably killing him. Came out at 3 AM to get some water and he was just standing there, head down. Same when my dad went to let him out around 5:30 before work like he always does. He's been doing that for like the last month or so and walks sooooo slow, barely eating, etc. It sucks, really it does. I've had the dog since 2005. I'm sure people here have put down an animal before. So after crying for a bit and texting a friend or two about it, I felt better as time went on. Honestly I know it's better to end his suffering instead of being selfish and keeping him around. He's not the same anymore anyway. Dunno why I really made this thread, I rarely if ever dive into any of my personal life on here. I expect insults or something anyway. Just felt I should share. Maybe it makes me feel better? Or maybe I'm just an attention whore. Idk. 128

So for anyone who was thinking about getting any game of this series, I'd highly recommend it. Games I'd recommend most? Well if you have an older computer, I'd recommend Rome 1 and/or Medieval 2. They were made in 2005/2006 respectively, so anyone with even an old computer should be able to run it. Newer game? I'd say Attila. Why not Rome 2? Well because Attila does everything Rome 2 does, but better honestly, and it captures the 'end of the world' feel much better. Plus there is DLC that jumps it into the early Medieval Era which is always better. 129
Serious / I have a question about Imperial Japan« on: February 05, 2016, 02:30:38 AM »
So we all know in the 30's and into the 40's how territory hungry Japan was, and the atrocities they did while taking such land. I understand their logic was since they're not Japanese, they're 'below' them and all that.
But my question is how was human rights for the Japanese in mainland Japan during the Imperial era? Were they repressed? Normal? Mass suppression of freedom of speech like Hitler times? I understand the Meiji Constitution guaranteed things like freedom of speech, assembly, and religion, but idk if it was exactly still enforced when people like Tojo took rule. I looked and can't really find any info on the treatment of their own citizens during that time. 130
The Flood / Anyone stand up so fast they kinda pass out?« on: February 01, 2016, 02:43:49 AM »
This happened a few days ago but like, I went to get out of the bath as I normally do, but I guess I got up too fast. Blood rush to head and all that
so as I was drying off, I kinda feel my body go all tingly and fuzzy, and my vision slowly fade in the corners of my eyes, and before I know it I hear a loud clang and I come to on the floor. Turns out I spilled my drink in the still draining bath, hit my brow against either the toilet or the tub (still sort of hurts lol), and broke the base of the toilet ever so slightly (thank god I didn't break it or something). Anyway, I've had the small vision fade thing happen before, but never to the point I actually lose balance and somewhat "pass out" for a few seconds. I dunno, just felt like sharing that. I'm fine btw, no gash or anything thank god. I'd hate to go to the ER and go in debt. 131
The Flood / Discuss about butt hair« on: January 30, 2016, 02:28:56 AM »
Don't Shave That Hair!!!
I have recently made a mistake in my life, and I offer my story to you, that you may learn from my error. It all started, as many things do, with me having trouble shitting. No, I was not constipated; this was not a regularity problem but a matter of technique. It seems my ass-hair had grown to such a length that tiny grogans were constantly getting tied up in the matted jungle between my asscheeks. It led to much frustration, with me KNOWING that I still had something to drop, but unable to shake the tenacious turd loose from its butthair dwelling. Eventually I would have to do two things: either reach down with some paper and try to pinch off the lingering loaf (which required careful precision to avoid smearing the creature all over my rear, especially since I had no way of seeing what I was doing) or just go for broke, start wiping, and hope that I could remove all the leftover fecal matter before the toilet paper reached its Can't-Be-Flushed threshold. I was contemplating this problem, when I had what seemed at the time to be a bright idea. "Hey! This is my butt and my butt-hair, right? So why don't I just eliminate all the hair, and then my grogans will flow out like beer from a keg!" I said to myself. It is a statement that will go down in history with a lot of other regretted statements. "How many Indians could there be?" said by General Custer. "Looks like a good day for a drive!" by JFK. "There! America On-Line now has complete Usenet access!" by some idiot system tech. Such was my anal shaving idea. I performed the operation that night, with a cheap disposable razor and a towel to sit on. Starting from the bottom, and shaving from the crack to the cheeks, I began the arduous process of ridding my ass of hair. Occassionally, I would have to clean the razor of accumulated hair and miscellaneous slime, which I did by wiping it on the towel. Slowly, my twin mounds and the between-ravine began to resemble the hairless cheeks of a newborn baby. Finally, I wiped the razor one last time, and surveyed my work. The towel was covered with a pile of hair. My ass was smooth as ivory. I smiled, satisfied, thinking my troubles were over. Little did I know. I now have a great respect for anal-hair. Like everything in this world God created, it has its mighty purpose in existence. It was only after I had removed it that I started to learn how much I had been taking it for granted. For one, it provides friction. I learned this the next day, when I walked out into the sun heading for class. After climbing two flights of stairs and starting to sweat, I started to notice something unpleasant. The sweat was accumulating in my crack, and was causing the unpleasant sensation of my two asscheeks sliding past each other with every step. I thought about going to the bathroom and wiping it off, but had to get to class. Eventually, I thought, it would dry. Unfortunately, it did dry, but only after mingling with the microscopic shit- molecules lingering around my brown starfish. When I stood up after class, my cheeks were stuck together with a slimy sticky shit/sweat combination. As I made my way back to my dorm, it started to itch. God-DAMN, did it itch! Felt like a swarm of ants was making its way up and down my crack. Fighting to keep from jamming my hand down there and scratching away, I rushed back to the dorm. Unfortunately again, this exertion caused me to sweat, and when I finally reached my room, my cheeks were sliding back and forth against each other like a pair of horny cane-toads. I quickly dropped my pants, and attempted to dry my ass off by sticking it in front of a fan and spreading my cheeks. As I pulled the two mounds of flesh apart, a horrible stench burst free and filled the room. Every dog within a 4 block radius started to howl. I had it worst of all, as the ripe aroma of festering shit/sweat went into the fan and blew back into my face. I fought to keep from heaving. And as I sat there, fighting vomit, my ass cheeks spread and dripping, with the concentrated aroma of my body odor mixed with the tangy smell of my own shit blowing right into my face, I had only one thought: "It will be like this until the hair grows back. Weeks." Later on, trying to deal as best I could, wiping my ass at every opportunity, I discovered another wonderful use for ass-hair - ventilation. I attempted to launch a fart, only to have it get stuck between my asscheeks. Apparently, with no hair, the two pink twins can get vacuum sealed together, and the result was a frustrating fart that slid up and down between my cheeks like a lost gerbil. As if that wasn't enough, I am now enduring further torture. As anyone who has ever shaved anything knows, when hair is first growing in, it comes in as stubble. Imagine your ass having the texture of a brillo pad. Well, that is what I am dealing with now. It is a hellish torture, and there are many times when I just look out the window and contemplate why I shouldn't just jump out and get it all over with in one fleshy splat, rather than endure this constant agony. Friends, DON'T SHAVE YOUR ASS-HAIR! Thoughts??? 132
Gaming / Age of Charlemagne: Let's build a Kingdom together! *Update 1*« on: January 28, 2016, 12:15:20 AM »YouTube So for anyone who was around before, you may have seen/contributed to my playthrough of Attila with the Teutons. Sadly, the faction/mod glitched out, so all progress was lost, and thus, our thread. BUT REST ASSURED it's back for another, and this time it will be in Age of Charlemagne as *drum roll* The Kingdom of Mercia! "But Luciana, wasn't Wessex the one to unite England?" you may ask in a stupid voice. Well yes it was, but that mod has no objectives for it yet so shut up, we play pretend. So replace Wessex with Mercia and there you go. ——- What is this, exactly? Age of Charlemagne is an epic expansion for Total War: ATTILA, set in the Middle Ages on an sprawling new campaign map of Europe. There have been kings and kingdoms before, but this is a time where truly great men united entire nations, built lasting legacies and defined what it meant to be a king. Can you be counted amongst them? You’ll face a new age, but an exhausted world, weary of conflict and battle. New technologies and new ways of waging war will only get you so far. A good king is a shrewd man, who knows precisely how far his people can be pushed. Do not mistake a reluctance to go to war as a sign that a nation is unprepared for it. Europe remains a melting pot of conflicting ideologies and long held distrust. While the old Empire is now a fading memory, the threats and consequences of its passing echo, resonating in new dangers and pressures for fledgling nations. Gone are the days of mighty Rome, or the ever intimidating Huns. Instead we are at the beginning stages of the Medieval Ages. Naturally, the Medieval Ages means more colorful armor, banners, and units. Opportunity presents itself in tying together vast new kingdoms, powerful new states that can be marshaled under a banner of civilization drawn from ashes. Greatness awaits you, if you have the steel and vision of Charlemagne. What is the objective? Naturally the objective here is to unify all of England under the Kingdom of Mercia, and transform it into the Kingdom of England (the game actually changes that title too once you do, how cool). After that, we will consolidate our forces and push north and east to take over the rest of the British Isles. It won't be easy, and we'll face stiff opposition from many of the surrounding Kingdoms who are also vying for rule over the Isles. But they don't have the glory of What's the point of this? Well since my car is dead and I'm not job hunting anytime soon because of it, I wanted to try this again. It was fun to do with you guys, and Verbs Dark Souls threads made us all interact, so I'm hoping this has some varying degree of the same effect. I'll update the OP with my updates so you can easily catch up, and a good reminder. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT ON ANY OF THIS TO OFFER YOUR OPINIONS. I WELCOME ANYTHING. I'm trying to make our empire a little interactive. Like I said in the old thread. We either fly together, or sink together. Few tidbits of info for this DLC that makes it different - War Weariness: Basically always going to war is a bad thing. Rome has fallen and your people are tired of all the constant fighting. So over time if you keep attacking one after another, your moral will drop and you'll slowly fall apart. I think this is an interesting mechanic. It makes you actually think tactically on wars you will enter. Maybe attacking a huge empire isn't such a good idea, or a faction with a lot of allies. - Unique Kingdom and Story Events: As I said before, it will transform us from the Kingdom of Mercia into the Kingdom of England. It will also feature cool story events that will help play into the more cinematic experience I hope to provide with this. It's another reason I went for Mercia, rather than the 'correct' Wessex. Until someone adds story/objectives for them like they have a few other modded factions, I'll stick to this. ——- So! With our stupid anthem at our side, and our delicious cup of tea let's do this. 133

The Flood / So been going through Star Wars again (idk if this deserves a thread)« on: December 26, 2015, 04:30:26 PM »
So I've been going on a binge with the movies again since I'm watching episode 7 again tomorrow (in 3D this time), and I changed a few positions on it so far. Decided to go in the order 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6, since 3 and 6 easily play into each other with Vader and the Emperor.
Anyway, my thoughts are 4 isn't as great as I once thought. A tad boring (along with audio inconsistencies due to mic placement I guess. Idk if it's nit picking, but it's grating to hear a somewhat muffled voice, only for a voice right next to your ear) . Episode 5 easily has the best writing in the original, what with the humor and plot of it all. Seems episode 7 took the humor inspiration from that. Episode 1 is fucking awful. I said 2 was the one I thought was worst? I lied. 1 was a chore to watch. Jar Jar's antics got tiring within 30 minutes, and NOTHING FREAKING HAPPENED in between them landing on Tatooine, and the pod races, and then the long haul to the Darth Maul duel. It was terrible, and 10 year old Ani's acting was awful. What I'm getting at, is that the pacing for 1 was terrible. Long periods of nothing happening, only for a few set piece moments. Episode 2, minus the romance (I literally only liked one line of it and that was in the end when Padme was saying a part of her was dying little by little each day since they met again. Everything else can fuck off) was ACTUALLY NOT THAT BAD. A lot of the hints to Anakin turning to Vader are great, with him saying dictatorship might not be so bad, along with the Death March theme subtly playing and remixing twice into the movie. And then the whole entire Clone segment. The CGI isn't the best in today's standards obviously, but man I forgot just how bad ass that entire freaking thing was. It was so glorious to watch and I'm easily going to have to watch the Clone Wars now because of it. Watching 3 and 6 later tonight. Just thought I'd give thoughts on my change of position. 146

My mother came to me and asked what my brother wanted for a while, and I said a PS4. My brother was adamant about buying it himself since he just landed a huge new job with the government (he's a mechanic. Now he's working on the transit buses and all that. Good for him. Healthcare for him and his kids), and was going to get it himself.
However my mother and I bought him the Battlefront edition since I know he'd love it since we JUST watched the new movie. So I'm really looking forward to seeing the surprise on his face when he doesn't even expect it. Last time that happened was when he got that Halo 3 green Xbox 360 and we played Halo 3 all day. Anyway, idk why I made this, I just wanted to share. I almost forgot what it felt like getting somebody something and legit going to see the general surprise on their face. 149
