It's probably not SSJ2
it was definitely SSJ2. she had completely spiked up hair completely different from before, like Gohan at the Cell Games, and blue sparks of electricity around her aura. and she had a big spike in power that let her fight Kale more evenly. there's no doubt at all that it was SSJ2.

Spoiler Krillin is mad about Goku's plan to resurrect Frieza and 18 agrees with him that it's kinda fucked up, but Goku will eventually convince them
the latter is possible, yeah. the former doesn't sound likely though, they wouldn't quit because of the truth, if anything that would entice them more. Spoiler but it would be some good character stuff to have Krillin get mad about bringing back Frieza again and then 18 is mad that Goku wants a guy who murdered her husband once to be on the team

Picture this: You've been enjoying this cool show about super powerful dudes fighting aliens. It's full of shouting, explosions and awesome fights. Nothing too scary, just pure awesome. Then all of a sudden this insectoid looking bastard just shows up and straight up drinks a guy like a fucking Capri Sun. HORRIFIC.
yeah I loved that scene, so dark but the one thing I hate is how they have the guy's hand disappear instead of having it fully retract into the coat sleeve, like it would have been so easy to just finish the animation

I'm using a different standard than you.
Anything less than what I saw in Dragon Ball Z isn't good enough to me. Yamamuro should be animating far more than he is.
All the characters look lanky and characteristically un-Dragon Ball, to me. The fight scenes have been choreographed decently, but we're still a ways away from where I think we should be. Saiyan Beyond God Goku vs. Frieza (Resurrection F) is the standard we should be meeting every time (minus the garbage CGI, but I don't remember if they used that before Blue/Golden showed up).
I get that the good animators are more expensive but when you look at how Super's reputation was tarnished early on by how bad the animation was, and look at the profit margins of anything Dragon Ball related, there's no excuse NOT to invest in more skilled animators.
Yes, I would agree Super looks good now, but only in comparison to what it started as.

Dragon Ball is more a cash cow now than it ever has been, and there's no reason we shouldn't have consistently good animation across the board. Like Dragon Ball Z at its best.
You guys are just so willing to let Toei abuse your interests. I don't understand it at all. When you give capitalist money sharks like Toei or Konami an inch, they take a fucking mile. Every time.
super currently looks good the vast majority of the time. no show looks good 100% of the time. idk what more you want. especially when this is a weekly series, the animation is just never gonna be perfect unless they started doing season breaks.

Honestly the worst thing Super did when retelling the two movies was bring Goku and Beerus's strength up to universal... it's just too big a power boost, and most of my scaling issues now stem from that.
the manga didn't do that so just chalk it up to another toei thing
Unfortunately Super is different from Z in that the manga doesn't tell the canon story. We really don't know which story we're supposed to accept, and the manga has its own problems, too.
it can be assumed that the manga is closer to toriyamas vision since toriyama is actually overseeing it unlike the anime where he sends off a rough draft and then doesn't even know what they're doing with it until the stuff is actually out half the time.
Yeah I know, but it's not as cut-and-dry as it used to be.
And like I said, the manga just trades problems with the anime. Stories progress far more organically in the anime, and things like Blue Kaioken and the majority of the Goku Black arc are superior in the show.
I'm really into power scaling and unfortunately, the anime version of the characters are stronger, so by default we are always going to use the anime as a basis for power in the future. A lot of my frustration comes from that.
yep, toei is really fucking toyotaro in the ass with this deal by only letting him release one chapter a month. if he were allowed to make it a weekly thing the manga would probably flow a lot better. i'm almost convinced that toei is making super inferior to Z on purpose so they can justify a Super Kai later on down the road and double dip on this thing.
I don't know what they'd do in Super Kai. there's not much filler to cut out. I guess they could make all the animation good, but they didn't do that with Z Kai so I wouldn't expect it.

no. that's a fake rumour that's been circulating since the very beginning. in all likelihood there's 20 more episodes of this arc alone, and I strongly doubt that this arc is the end of the series.

the anime is actually just all around poo and you should just stick to reading the manga for super
the manga is mostly crap though the BoG arc in it is too short and, the tournament arc sucks and is worse in every way to the anime, the Black arc is only good for the first half then it gets dumb. admittedly some bits of the Black arc were better early on but it falls apart toward the most recent chapter. and the lack of mystery surrounding Black sucks.
