i used too back in Oct. i was taking from 3k-4k in calories when i tried gaining weight.( i was working out too and i was also taking in lots of protein and carbs along with those calories)
For how long was this?
a little over two months.
Not much time to see significant weight gain, assuming that your diet was consistent- I don't even know what your TDEE was, so there's no way of telling how much of a surplus you were eating at.

My metabolism is super duper high
No it isn't, you probably just don't actually know what you eat.
I try to eat things high in calories
But do you actually count how many calories are going into your body?

(maybe, I don't know how weight gaining diets work).
How to gain weight 101:

1. Calculate TDEE (Total daily energy expenditure)
2. Eat above that caloric intake
3. You gain weight
Cheat mode:
1: Forget math
2: Drink a six pack of dark beer daily
This can also work.

There really are guys out there who can't handle anything more than manual labor.
I remain unconvinced about this. I think that there are ways to make virtually anyone understand something if they put enough effort into it. I think that dismissing someone as "Stupid" and giving up on assuming their capacity to learn complicated ideas is a toxic mentality. Not everyone is going to be an Isaac Newton or Einstein, but I think much more often than not that a person typically considered "Dumb" is more intelligent than they're given credit for, it's a matter of effort and nurturing of curiosity.
Some of them are dumb. But for the majority, would calling them simply "less educated" be fair enough? Because it is true if they didn't go to college.
I don't generally believe in calling people "Dumb" for the reason I said before, unless they've got some legitimate mental handicap that prevents them from thinking about things that are complicated. "Less educated" is fine, but even then, I hate talking about shit like this because I feel like it belittles them.

what he did is certainly wrong if the description of the person he was trying to get nudes from was emotionally unstable and depressed.
Would it not be wrong if she did it on her own will?
It's sort of a grey question.
I disagree. Taking and distributing nudes of a 13 year-old is still wrong.
I don't believe that two consenting teenagers who are "Underage" giving nudes to each other are necessarily in the wrong, honestly.
Only adults have the ability to legally give consent.
I find that law flawed.

I really have no idea how to feel about all of this. On one hand, yes, what he did is certainly wrong if the description of the person he was trying to get nudes from was emotionally unstable and depressed. On the other, I do see how a sex offense charge could be perceived as excessive in this situation. He's only thirteen, I'm sure he doesn't understand the moral ramifications of what he was doing. Or he did, I don't know. Point is, there's really not a lot that I feel comfortable arguing, because I can't peek inside your little brother's head, or look at any of the evidence that was apparently deleted.

I use to make electronic music, but the hobby fell off once I realized the amount of time, effort, and staying-inside that dedicated music production entails. It was a Winter hobby, so I had an excuse to stay in all the time, but once Spring came, I felt disgusting just staring at a screen for five hours experimenting with sound design, so I was like, "Eh, this probably isn't for me."

Although I'd love to be a music producer.

I don't like the idea of considering anyone involved in manual labor as just a stupid, uneducated bum that only exists to do the jobs that "Smart people" are too busy or intelligent to perform on their own.
I've done manual labor.

You literally described about two thirds of the people I worked with.

Don't like calling them bums though. They work hard, and if you try to slack off they'll let you know you're a bitch.
It isn't fair to describe them as "Stupid." They likely weren't given the same opportunities that other, more successful people had in terms of education.

No, because we have no use for a society of over-educated people. Education costs money, for society to run most efficiently it shouldn't waste money on things that aren't needed.
We have no use for uneducated people, either.

Please tell me--in your mind, what is the correct amount of uneducated people to have?
Depends how much manual labour we intend to do.
This statement rubbed me the wrong way.

I don't like the idea of considering anyone involved in manual labor as just a stupid, uneducated bum that only exists to do the jobs that "Smart people" are too busy or intelligent to perform on their own.

A country comprised entirely of educated people is incontrovertibly good.
How good is it when none of their education does anything for society?
You need an education to do anything for society.
So factory workers can't do anything for society? The peasants did nothing for society? News to me.
Aren't robots replacing all of that stuff, anyway?
Not fully, and not any time soon.
...I don't know, I've heard a lot of sources say that robotics will replace a pretty massive number of jobs over the next few decades.
