This isn't the body of a steroid user. It's the body of someone who has an absolutely garbage training regimen. And it isn't because he's vegan, it's because he's clearly training like shit and not eating enough.

he also flaunts his steroid swollen body and tries to sit on a noexistant moral high horse. He very clearly doesn't use steroids.

One of these days you're gonna have to realize you make a habit out of doing really stupid things, and stop.
Why do you always like the posts where I criticize what you're doing? Do you acknowledge that the decisions you make are horrible, you just can't be proactive?
I liked all the posts
Not like this is the first time you've done it.

In short, feminism is for one group, ega is for all groups. That simple. Feminism is the advocacy for women, Ega is advocacy for all. I'm really not sure what it is that you're missing here. Feminism is just a description of a set of beliefs that falls under the definition of egalitarianism. Egalitarians believe that everyone should be equal, right? Cool, that's egalitarianism. Feminism is the belief that women should be equal to men, right? Cool, that's feminism. Under the definition of egalitarianism, you believe that women should be equal to men, yes? So you are, by definition, a feminist. It's not possible to be an egalitarian and not subscribe to the idea of feminism.

So to say that you're an Egalitarian (Equality for ALL), then say, I'm a feminist (A group that advocates for one group) is contradictory. I didn't bother to read through your entire argument with Verb because I'm feeling pretty lazy, but I think I get the gist of why he's upset with you. Feminism is simply the belief that women should be treated equally to men, which falls under the definition of egalitarianism; that being the belief that everyone should be equal. Just because you don't personally identify with the feminist cause, doesn't mean that you aren't one. What you're arguing is essentially the same as a biologist claiming that they aren't a scientist.

I don't know, it's not something that I feel comfortable trying to argue a stance on because I really just don't know much about the event and foreign relationships very well. I just go with the official story until it's shown that there's strong evidence to the contrary- And I haven't seen that yet.

You find comfort in the knowledge that you can have most girls, including this one. When that's taken away from you (For example, because she starts dating someone), you're upset. It hurts your own perception of yourself because, finally, you can't have something.

I understand that PC gaming is pretty objectively more extensive and open-ended, but it's too expensive for me. I don't have the interest in gaming that I use to, so I can't be bothered to pay for a gaming PC. It just isn't worth it for me.

Well, I also forgot to mention that it's used as a marketing ploy. It's something to be taken advantage of. Games can't just look interesting or fun on their own merit. Women cannot be interesting on their own merit. At least, according to game designers. And people buy into it.
Yes, it's possible to have an interesting or detailed or strong female character that is still physically attractive.
But what gets advertised more? What gets exploited more? What do people buy the games for?
Oh no, I don't disagree with anything that you're saying in regards to feminism and how it wrestles with depictions of girls in video games. I'm more so speaking about your perception of sex at its core. I think girls are sexualized way too much in media and that it's something that isn't doing humanity any good. This is only sort of relevant, but I've never really seen a good opportunity to tell you; If you ever get your hands on an Xbox 360, I'd highly recommend playing Red Dead Redemption. I say that because, on top of the fact that the game is just fantastic from a gameplay and story perspective, I think you'd actually appreciate the female characters in the game more than anything. They're some of the strongest female characters I've ever seen in... Anything, really, and I think the game as a whole is very empowering to women.

I'd argue you're being a little excessive. There are certain aspects of sex and sexuality that negatively affect peoples' perception of each other, and we should be cautious to let sexuality influence our decision-making when rational and morally significant problems are put in front of us. But while it isn't the most useful and wonderful facet of human nature, I don't see any real inconvenience gathered by finding people attractive because of their features and wanting to mess around as a result. I agree that when society has come to prioritize sex above other things, it's a problem, and that's something we should try to ease off of. But to go off on such a massive, hateful rant about the basic concept of two people having sex, to me, is sort of silly.
Sex is "Loathsome and vile" in the same sense that any basic process and nature can be boiled down to something that's either "Disgusting" or excessively complicated. There are underlying and often distasteful ways of representing most natural things, but that doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to enjoy them so long as nobody is being hurt in the process. You can spin those same processes in a different way and end up with something that a lot of people will argue is beautiful and fascinating.
Sure, sex is a bit gross when you get down to what's "Really going on." But the nature of sex, the act of sharing something so intimate and personal with a partner and experiencing that level of pleasure with them, is something that I think is fine. The overarching emotional consequences of having sex with someone you love easily outweigh whatever sort of distaste I think is appropriate to be given towards details of the physical act.

No, I'm saying that believing that is what makes anti-theism autistic. It's not autistic to acknowledge that religion convinces people to do and believe things that are incorrect, and think "I sort of wish it wasn't a thing anymore." You're autistic if you flaunt your lack of a religion around and act like a pompous ass because of it.

Anybody who thinks that religion is a bad influence and would prefer to have it gone, even if they don't say it, is an anti-theist.
Got it.
OP's still right, though.
Not really. Religion isn't a very good thing and I'm convinced the world would be a better place without it, that doesn't mean I have to be a dick about it.

« on: June 07, 2016, 12:42:29 AM »
Because the only people I've ever seen call themselves "anti-theist" are the Dawkins/Hitchens type (the latter, less so, IMO.)
Someone doesn't necessarily have to identify as an "Anti-theist" to be one. It's like how most people are actually feminists, but don't say it because the word "Feminist" carries a negative connotation because of the social justice warrior groups. Anybody who thinks that religion is a bad influence and would prefer to have it gone, even if they don't say it, is an anti-theist.

Anti theism? Never heard of it.
just another type of bigotry
It's not bigotry at all, don't start with this nonsense again. There's a difference between being an anti-theist, and being some prick who runs around and verbally assaults religious people whenever he can. You don't have to act like Dawkins, Hitchens, or any of those guys to be anti-theist.

eventually, it's gonna come to a point where no one is sure if you're even using the word correctly, because it'll become officially synonymous with words like "really" or "very"
To be honest, I think if that was gonna happen, it already would have. They're already pretty interchangeable, but I think most people can pick up on how the word is suppose to be used based on the context.

I don't think it's that big of a deal, I find it pretty difficult to notice when people do it. Even in text, I just don't find it all that bad.
Then again, I'm definitely guilty to saying "Literally" when it's probably not necessary, so I'm a bit biased.
