That would make things interesting, and help to give some new canon to the Old Republic era.

The Flood / Re: First official Force Awakens poster« on: October 18, 2015, 04:13:47 PM »I doubt it's coincidental. The designer of this poster almost certainly knew what that sort of imagery implied. I She could've been posed so many different ways to negate the idea that her and Kylo were parallel in some way. Also something cool that people have pointed out is that Rey and Kylo are holding their sabers/staffs parallel, and right over each other. If you take a quick look, it's almost like Rey is holding a red blade. A lot of people are theorizing that she'll be a character who ends up either falling to/being tempted by the dark side. It's pretty obvious foreshadowing, but it's still a cool visual.Could be coincidental since her staff has to go somewhere without blocking other things in the image. But I'm cool with someone possibly turning evil, that's always a challenge a Jedi faces 2259

It'd be cool if he was just using the lightsaber and not an actual force user.Finn is almost definitely force-sensitive. 2260
The Flood / Re: First official Force Awakens poster« on: October 18, 2015, 04:05:59 PM »That's a very, very old piece of Star Wars canon; only right after A New Hope.Ok well actually, just using a lightsaber doesnt mean he's a force user, haven't seen that yet. It'd be cool if he was just using the lightsaber and not an actual force user.Seems unlikely. Also, I'm pretty sure it's been stated in one of the films that lightsabers require the Force to control. Could be wrong. It was discredited a long time ago; force sensitivity isn't required to hold one. Remember when Han used Luke's lightsaber to cut open the Tauntaun? 2261

The Flood / Re: First official Force Awakens poster« on: October 18, 2015, 03:34:52 PM »IsIt's called the Starkiller Base. It's not a Death Star per se, it's a planet that was fitted with a weapon capable of destroying a star, therefore killing all of the inhabitants of the system. It's a death star times forty, basically. 2264

Absolutely, it's just hard to gauge whether or not someone has moved on from being prone to lying. Or not even that, because I guess that assumed we're talking about a lying-prone person to begin with. If we mean just generally, then everybody lies here and there, and I don't think that makes people untrustworthy (At least, not a lot). I'm surprised at the amount of people so far saying that trust can't be earned back so far. I have to ask- Why? I can understand being suspicious of what people say, but to say they can't earn your trust back?

The Flood / Re: Why don't you lift weights?« on: October 16, 2015, 03:58:06 PM »
I do, and I hate that you made this thread.
If you want to get people into lifting, or to adopt a healthier lifestyle (And lifting isn't for everybody, some people just prefer other ways of exercising), then you should sarcastically ask why the don't lift. It's pretentious, and makes it sound like they're automatically at a loss for not doing it. Some people might benefit a lot from lifting, but like I said, not everybody is after that kind of physique, or needs the added confidence boost that it can give you. Better thread title would've been, "What do you do to stay in shape?" 2276

If you were, 12 Colorado residents would still be alive. Two Chechnyan kids wouldn't have attacked a marathon. Dylann Roof would never have been on the news. 2279

I also can't think of any good reason I should care that the government has access to my personal information. It isn't being used against me, and it's ultimately collected for the greater purpose of maintaining national security. I would take sacrificed privacy over terror attacks and day of the week, and think it's unbelievably selfish and irrational to suggest otherwise. Plus, it's not like I'm actually sacrificing anything that matters; my privacy still applies in the areas I need it to. It isn't being used to embarrass me, or doing anything that affects my everyday life.
I don't understand it when people throw fits over the fact that government spying happens. Who cares? "I want privacy!" Why? What's gonna happen to you? If you were never told about the fact that a lot of your personal information is tracked, would you have ever suffered a negative consequence? Would any harm ever come to you? No, and that's why it shouldn't matter to you. Unless I'm missing something about what the NSA does, and I definitely could be, I don't see them abusing the information. Somebody enlighten me to reasons that the government is doing something immoral, and don't say anything solely based on the desire to have things kept secret. |
