The Flood / Re: One of my old school bullies has died
« on: December 30, 2016, 03:41:40 PM »
I never really had any bullies, but I find that sort of thing very easy to forgive.

Kids are stupid, but they grow up. If they don't grow up, who cares. I don't see much point in harboring any ill-will towards anyone for some petty schoolyard shit that's done and over with. There's far more important things about life to spend time hating for me to care if anyone had a low opinion of me in fucking school of all places.
I think you're making light of bullying. It can be mental and even physical torture, things I believe we should start involving the police in. It goes far beyond just somebody calling you a name or disliking you.

Verb, this argument started because you said isolating yourself is not the same as being selfish. Now you're saying it is. I'm going to need clarification because you're being confusing with this.
The things you keep to yourself should only be that which is just enough to sustain your health and existence so that you can continue being a good little helper for your society. Anything else is excessive, self-indulgent, and bad.

So.....a tax?
Call it what you want. As if taxes aren't the best fucking thing ever.
That's communism.
Neat.
My point is it doesn't work out. No utopia does. We're inherently competitive.
So we'd play fucking video games or some shit. There are ways to sate your carnal desires. Some people masturbate, some people chew gum, some people smoke e-cigs. We can curb our competitive nature.
Not yet. We're not ready for that yet. When we start colonizing the universe and the competition starts to be more against the perils in space instead of against each other so much, maybe.

Keeping to yourself is not a negative trait.

So because you were bullied in preschool, selfishness is a good trait?
Keeping to yourself isn't the same as being selfish.

Sharing is good. That's why we are where we are as a species.

No, I remember it fondly. I remember all the fucking garbage kids that destroyed the origami bat I worked all year for in art and were Hell bent to make sure I went home sad every day. My teachers knew I didn't have to play with others or even interact with them much. Good riddance to those shitty excuses for human beings.
So because you were bullied in preschool, selfishness is a good trait?

I have very little sympathy for muslims fleeing other muslims. Looks like they're getting a taste of their own medicine.
I agree with the other two paragraphs of your post but shit like this is so stupid.

It's like saying that the holocaust was "white people fleeing other white people". It's technically true, Ashkenazi jews are pretty much just as white as the nazis who were gassing 'em, but the nuance is the important shit.
Muslims oppress others and themselves. It's in their nature due to their religion. Almost every Muslim state lends itself to being ruled with an iron fist.

When they grow up as a civilization, then I'll consider sympathizing with their situation. This isn't to say that I see refugees on the news and feel disgusted, I sympathize with T them individually. I'm speaking in broader terms of the whole Muslim community and how they run their countries and treat religious minorities and other Muslims in their own countries.

I can't agree with these ridiculous statements people make about Islam being a religion of peace and that it's compatible with a sane and civilized way of life. I just can't, when they show the opposite all throughout history and continue to do so.

Serious / We need to have a serious discussion about autism
« on: December 29, 2016, 04:52:31 PM »
Autism doesn't exist. What you call an autist is a crystal child. The Crystal children began to appear on the planet from about 1990-2010, although a few scouts came earlier. Their main purpose is to take us to the next level in our evolution and reveal to us our inner and higher power. They function as a group consciousness rather than as individuals, and they live by the “Law of One” or global oneness. They are also advocates for love and peace on this planet. They are mostly born into the Gold Ray of Incarnation and Evolution, which means they have access to gifts of clairvoyance and healing. They are born on the sixth dimension of consciousness, with the potential to open up rapidly to the ninth dimensional level of full Christ consciousness, and then from there to the thirteenth dimension, which represents universal consciousness. Crystal children’s auras aren’t specifically opalescent, but are octarine, which is a color that isn’t in the normal visual range of human eyes, but is the manifest color of high magic, and on another color octave entirely. They have beautiful pastel hues to them. To the untrained eye, it appears to be without color at all, therefore Crystal, but the extremely high frequency of the energy field is what gives it away. The first thing you will recognize about Crystal children is their forgiving nature. They are very sensitive, warm, and caring. Don’t mistake these characteristics as a sign of weakness as Crystal children are also very powerful.

The Flood / Re: Phones

All ya need is a reboot. I really need to clean out my sd card.
I wish. My OPO's battery and charging were pretty shot. Just using it to browse the web drained it very quickly and it charged poorly. I legit got the message "charging rapidly - 37 DAYS remaining until full" once. If I had it plugged in and charging while the phone was on, it would sometimes drain battery faster than it would charge. Sometimes I'd go to bed with it "charging" at 30% and I'd wake up to it having dropped to 10% while plugged into the wall. This was partially my fault for being one of the earliest adopters when it was in its first stages and assuming I could fix most issues by myself, but still. Glad to have a new one after 3 years.

One plus really has come a long way. The two was kind of a step back, that's why I'm back on the htc.

I constantly had problems with the fingerprint reader on the two, it would work for three days and then I'd have to clear out my fingerprints and it would work again for another three days. Plus that screen was pretty ass.
lmao what a piece of shit

Not voting for a guy because his hateful and disrespectful attitude towards women, racial minorities, and LGBT individuals is, like, the definition of privilege.
I don't see how. When you vote in a man with these beliefs he's going to make policies based on those beliefs.
I had an autismo moment and missed, like, a key phrase of that sentence.

"Because they won't be affecting you so they're not that big of a deal" was meant to be in there somewhere.
How wouldn't they affect us?
If you're a straight, white, cis male and you vote for Donald Trump with a lot of the reasoning being, "yeah, I acknowledge that he promotes horribly bigoted attitudes towards women, racial minorities, and LGBT individuals, but I just don't think it's that big of a deal," then that is the epitome of privilege, is what I'm saying.

I'm not sure if you're just not understanding what I'm trying to say or I'm not understanding what you're asking. I'm saying that the logic of the people who say this is that it it wouldn't effect them or that it isn't a very big deal - which they only think because they are not the directly effected parties. Ergo, this is the sort of thing people are referring to when they say "privilege" in a social context.
Ok yeah I see what you mean now.

I mean, they would still be affected by this negatively. They just don't know it.

All I know is by now an android phone would be sluggish and this is still going strong.
What makes you say that? 5+ years ago, maybe, but now? The iPhone is great (it was the first smartphone I ever owned and I'm definitely no Android fanboy) but Android has come a long way from being the scattered outlier that was once loaded with freeware and used as the basis for inconsistent and shoddy budget systems. At this point, several Android systems are highly polished and run extremely smooth on high quality devices rivaling the iPhone in terms of build quality and design. For example, the Galaxy S7, Oneplus 3(T), Google Pixel and HTC 10 are all premium tier devices offering features, performance and responsiveness equal to (and in certain cases surpassing) even the latest iPhones in versatility, raw power, camera and screen quality.

I'm not saying this to bash Apple or get you to buy something other than an iPhone, but Android has become so well adopted and polished by a few big players that the old idea of Android being this versatile but sluggish scrappy OS while iPhones are more responsive, fast and smooth really doesn't hold up that well anymore. Especially if you're coming from a 5s, you'll find that there's going to be a lot of Android phones out there that'll blow it out of the water in terms of smoothness and responsiveness. And this is coming from someone who used to have an iPhone and has had plenty of opportunity to compare the latest models to top Android ones.
I don't know why you're twisting my words. Android is known to get sluggish over time, no matter how "polished" it is. It's the same with any OS, just seems to happen sooner on android devices due to the nature of the software.
My bad, misread your first sentence.
No problem

Are you doing anything to help the battery life? I've had my iPhone 5S for almost three years and I've had zero battery issues.

All I know is by now an android phone would be sluggish and this is still going strong.

At the end of the day I can just get one of those battery packs.
It's not about issues its about how the battery goes pretty quick. It should be able to last a whole day of heavy usage (at least on low power mode) with a little bit left.

I do use my phone a LOT but the battery life on iPhones could be better.

Pineapple is literally right next to anchovies on the list of shit not to put on it, same with mushrooms.
