It's objectively better on PC and even GameCube, unfortunately on the GameCube they changed the character models a little including some other things which is why I prefer it on the Dreamcast.

The point I was making is that weirder artistic decisions have been made. I could make a game and say, "I intend for this game to be played using a shitty graphics card." And if you play using a better graphics card than I had in mind, you're playing the game incorrectly.
OoT runs at 20fps, by the way, and emulating it is completely different than playing it on the N64. It's night and day. I want the imperfections. I want the fuck-ups. They add a touch of humanity to the experience.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of my favorite games of all time, and one of my life goals is to learn how to play it competitively.
Since the game is so old, though, the most optimal way to play it competitively is to use a CRT rather than a newer HD TV. This is because the game wasn't made for HD, and as a result, if you try to play any older game on one, you're going to experience some input lag, among other issues--making the CRT better than the HD TV in these cases.

Depending on the project, you might want to use something underpowered for the sake of authenticity. You could have a game set in a certain time period where a 1070 didn't exist, so to reflect that, an artist may choose a 970 instead.
Auteur filmmakers do this sort of thing ALL the time.
