Just you wait, they'll tell you to fuck off to b.net after a few more replies.

I see no reason to punish law-abiding people for owning a certain weapon, whatever that reason is, when that weapon is not even a problem within the society.
Because the law abiding people of today are the maniacs of tommorrow. Almost all school shootings have been committed by people who have legally owned guns, or their family has a legally owned gun.

And exactly why are we still discussing hunting? It's not the purpose of the 2nd Amendment as I've said many times already

It's not military grade as I've said as well. It was designed and intended for civilian use. Military grade is it being selective fire, aka a real assault rifle. There's literally nothing different than an AR-15 and a ranch rifle, as Das posted a image showing such. Only difference is the looks of the gun

So fucking what if I have more than 3-rounds? Am I hurting you by having multiple standard-capacity (30 round magazines) for my guns? There's actual reasons to have more than 3-rounds. For one, it reduces the time I have to reload when hunting. Secondly, if people break into my home then I only have seconds to grab my gun and all I have is my one magazine while the intruders can possibly have a 100+ rounds in a combined total; limiting my magazine size is limiting my chances of survival

Actually, more people die from car-related accidents than gun-related accidents every year. Why are you not trying to force drivers to be subjected to your views? And you're still not giving me a reason to not have an AR-15 or an AK. But too bad, because I'll have them forever and there's nothing you can do about it. So continue and try to say shit in order to support curbing my rights
Because you're not a soldier. You have these weapons because you live in constant fear and you're compensating.

A glock with 19 rounds is enough. A shotgun is enough. You don't need an AK to to stop somebody from robbing your home, and the chances multiple intruders enter your home with 100+ rounds are slim to none. The odds they fire all their rounds at you are even less. You act like you're in a battlefield. You're not.

A pistol is enough. That fact that you're a pansy that feels he needs an assault rifle to defend his home doesn't change the facts.

Nonetheless, those designed to chamber .22 rounds have the least regulated legal status in the country. Like I say, I'm not particularly connected with the issue - nor do I desire to be - but I can't see a lack of necessity to something as a justification for banning or otherwise regulating that thing.

It's essentially the same logic from people who want to use "sin taxes" or give cigarettes plain packages.
Because it isn't necessary. A gun is not a toy. If you don't need a specific gun, you don't have it for the fuck of it.

Not necessarily.
You're forgetting the factors of reliability, bullet trajectory, stability, easy of use, maneuverability, weight, ammunition availability, and recoil management that go into selecting a service rifle. Otherwise, we'd use 6.5 Swedish , 30-06 Springfield, or 7mm-08 Remington, all more powerful cartridges than 5.56 NATO and used to hunt big game in America.
Yeah, I didn't mean power in the literal sense. I meant a gun that kills another human being in the most efficient manner that can be mass produced with cheap ammo.

You don't need one of those unless you're on a battlefield.

I don't see a reason for limiting that freedom, so I can't personally support such an initiative.

But I've learnt to leave American gun-culture very much alone. I will say, however, the AR-15s are legal here in England.
Can you buy them at your local supermarket? No, you can't.

I'd just like to point out, without having read any prior conversation, that weapons like the AR-15 are absolutely not the problem. People who pontificate on the unnecessary nature of owning an "assault weapon" are detracting from their own cause.

If you want to stop homicide, then crack down on handguns in the underground market.
That's obvious. But that still doesn't mean civilians should have access to an AR-15 or AK-47.

Nobody needs a 7.62 rifle to kill anything.
Nobody needs a Remington 700 either, a hunting rifle that is easily more lethal over far ranges than any "assault weapon".
I really don't understand your logic of demonizing some weapons while deeming others acceptable.
What? The more powerful your gun is, the better your chances are of defeating the enemy and getting home.

That's why I say military grade. Because you need (or want) the best of best to defeat people who are going to shoot you on sight. It's war. You need every advantage you can get.

Why are those options any better?
I personally find the idea of a shotgun for home defense to be shit.
That's fine. Buy a handgun instead, which is the best for home defense and for protecting yourself on the streets.

It was a joke, just like the video was a joke (but you didn't complain about that).

I'm done with this back n forth, you are making accusations that aren't true and derailing the topic of this thread.
Dude, I said in the post I made in that thread that I didn't watch the video. I don't care if they were calling people sand niggers or dune coons, you as a moderator of this community should be above that.

The accusations are true. You hate Jews and you're a hypocrite. Either accept that you made a mistake and shouldn't have said that, or continue to be a shitty mod.

As R.D.H said when explaining his use of the word:

"I never knew the word "nigga" could offend an audience of middle-class white people"

Honestly I think it's because it's a mix of OTT political correctness ("How dare you, you could possibly offend a black person!") and white guilt for the whole slavery thing nearly 2 centuries ago.

It created a mindset of "We should them show we have become better people since then by being offended by the thing our (predecessors?) did, otherwise we are still terrible, etc, etc"
2 centuries ago? What rock do you live under? Segregation was around until fairly recently, and you still have extremely racist people today who say that word.

Definitely not, since no modern army would send it's forces to battle with only a semi-automatic rifle and the platform was developed for sport shooting before Colt arms produced the M-16 from Stoner's AR-15 design.
AK's are wonderful weapons to hunt larger game with though, provided you're not trying to take 300 yard shots, which most deer hunters wouldn't try for with any rifle.

Besides, "military grade" is such a joke of a buzzword these days.
Nope. The AR-15 might as well be an M16 or M4 these days. 30 round mags and a shit ton of attatchments. It's not a buzzword, it's a description of how it is a military grade weapon. ESPECIALLY the AK.

If you need an AK to kill a deer, get the fuck off the planet.

I love how you're avoiding facts here. AR-15s were designed for civilian use. And please, give me a reasonable reason why I don't need to hunt with one or an AK. So far you're just spewing shit and not giving a reason. Your opinion has officially been discarded

You're the one making excuses here. I'm giving real reasons why an AR-15 or AK is fine to have. You're not doing anything to give a reason why it's not okay to have. As I said, your opinion has no meaning because you refuse to come up with a reason

GPS was designed for the military. I guess civilians can't use GPS then. Not going to give an explanation because you're not giving one yourself.

Jeeps were designed for the military as well. Guess civilians can't drive them either. And again, not giving a reason as you're not giving a reason yourself

A rifle is a good idea for self defense. For one it comes in various calibers, such as .22lr. .22lr is a weaker caliber than something like 5.56. Each caliber has a fuction
AR-15 platform is the basis for the M16 and M4.  It's military grade. Its function years and years ago is irrelevant. I'm talking about the present, and you're talking about its original purpose to try and get off with a technicality. A lot of things were invented with a different purpose in mind than the one they're actually put to use for. Cut the crap.

And the AK was designed for the Soviet military. There is no reason you need a military grade rifle as a civilian. Buy a hunting rifle. If you need anything more than 3 shots in a mag or clip you should just pack up and go home.

GPS doesn't harm anybody. Jeeps don't harm anybody. The AR-15 and AK were designed for the specific purpose of killing another human being. You do not need an AR-15 or AK. If you want to defend yourself, buy a handgun or shotgun.

Dark jokes are acceptable on the Flood as long as they aren't attacking a specific member.
Knowing you, that wasn't really a joke. And no, racist shit like that isn't acceptable. It's one thing to make a dark joke, it's quite another to say "ready the chambers" when somebody tells you a group of people you didn't like are Jews. It's the disgusting shit you find on /pol/.

It was totally uncalled for. There's really no way to make a joke about genocide in my opinion, but the way you went about it wasn't humorous in the slightest or even attempting to be. You were once again pointing out how you hate Jews as if any of us give a shit.

If I could report you to somebody who cares, I would. But seeing how you've been chosen to be a mod in the first place, there's no point.

I see them as massive beasts that I'd rather not mess with. Plus, they're strangers, so I don't know how they would react if I walked up to them
Horses usually are pretty nice. Just go up to them with some food and gently pet them.

Serious / Re: Missouri Dems pushing for gun confiscation

AR-15 is NOT military grade. The AR-15 was designed by ArmaLite as a sporter rifle. It was years afterwards that the government started to produce similar style guns for military use

And guess what, the 2nd Amendment wasn't made to protect hunting. It was designed for self-defense, more specifically by the government. Have you also even heard of the Girandori? It's an 18th century rifle that had a feeding system of 20 rounds, which many of the Founding Fathers and American citizens had during the time. Oh, and what about the puckle gun which is essentially the ancestor to the gattling gun which saw service in the 18th century also?

But tell me exactly why I can't go hunting with an AR-15 or an AK? The 7.62x39 round is perfect for game such as deer. AR-15's also come in various calibers such as .22lr, 5.56, .223, 7.62x39, and .308. Each caliber is effective for different game sizes.

If you're going to discuss guns, then know what you're talking about. There's a reason why I don't discuss climate change all too often because it's a subject I'm not educated all that much like others are
AR-15 is military grade. You don't need it to hunt with, same with an AK.

You can make all the excuses you want and try to point out technicalities as if it makes a difference, but the fact of the matter is these are rifles soldiers use. You don't need them for self defense. A rifle is not a good idea for self defense, you're much better off with a Glock that can hold 19 rounds to defend yourself.

1) This isn't the place for this convo
2) What part of different sub forums didn't you listen to? I wouldn't have gave Casper a heads up if he posted that joke elsewhere on the site, and I would have gave any user a warning for making a holocaust joke in the Serious forum.
Excuses excuses. You don't acknowledge the fact that what you did is wrong. The fact that it's the Serious sub forum has nothing to do with it. Those jokes shouldn't be allowed in The Flood either, and you of all people shouldn't be making them.

Serious / Re: Even ISIS members are saddened by Robi Williams death

The sub forums have slightly different rules, dark jokes and the like are fine in the Flood as long as they aren't calling out an individual member, the Serious forum due to it's nature is slightly stricter, so jokes are more restricted here.

I invited you to discuss it with me via PM so not to fill this thread with our back and forth, I wasn't antagonising you.
There's nothing further to discuss and there's certainly no need for privacy. I couldn't give less of a shit if it clutters this thread, I want people to read it.

You said something offensive about Jews and now you're being a hypocrite by telling someone to watch what they post when their joke is way less offensive. You're biased because you hate Jews, and eventually you're going to abuse your power. You'll ban somebody for saying something slightly offensive about Arabs and make an offensive post about Jews the same day.

You just shouldn't be a mod. I'm sure you disagree, but that isn't really important.

I made that joke on The Flood, not in Serious, I doubt Casper read the Serious forum rules so I was just giving him a heads up.

I don't get why you're so upset over this, perhaps you'd like to PM me to discuss it?
It's the same fucking website and I'm pretty sure discriminatory content is against the rules in every section.

I'm not upset. I'm stating the fact that you are not a mature enough person to be a moderator. The fact that you responded with a slightly more elegant version of "u mad?" further proves my point.

This is the serious forum, please read the rules.
Oh, really? Because after reading your comment I thought I was on hypocrisy.net.

You make a "joke" about gassing Jews in a gas chamber, but somebody make a joke about the Sand People in Star Wars in relation to terrorists and you warn them to not say something offensive.

Really, you're not fit for the position of moderator. Why you got it over Mr Psychologist or Lord Commissar I have no idea.
