This is when the statute of limitations comes into play though. You only have a certain amount of time before your right to start proceedings to obtain damages becomes void. Fortunately, for these kind of cases most developed countries don't actually start the "counter" until you become (seriously) ill because of what happened. But I am no expert in Canadian law and the government there has been very reluctant to deal with problems caused by asbestos, so I'm not sure about Sandtrap's position.

If I walked into the hospital right now, and told them to take care of me..... it wouldn't make a difference. My lungs are going to be affected by this one way or another, and my body is now dealing with two things.
The flu, and this respitory infection. I'm not going to sit and wait to die. I'm not going to take my chances. I'M NOT GOING TO DIE AND LEAVE MY FAMILY ON THE VERGE OF HOMELESSNESS AND BEING BANKRUPT.

Doctors aren't absolute, but he seems to know what he's talking about, and working around asbestos with a broken mask for 5 days doesn't make me very hopeful. I hope you make it through, and you just might do it because it's easy to tell how strong of a person you are. I knew a guy who was exposed to asbestos for a while and got cancer and lung problems, but he pulled through. I hope you can do the same, I almost expect it from you from what I've seen of you.
