No. He should have looked like he did in the first LOTR film, where he was almost black and his eyes shined in the dark. He looked like he did in the second and third films where he had been in the Sun and outside his cave, it just didn't look or feel right.
The worst thing is, he could have easily nailed this movie. He did such a fantastic job with LOTR. I had been waiting for The Hobbit movie for like my whole life, and then we got this shit. I can't even begin to explain how disappointed I was and still am.
Proven homo sapien, but I would have liked if he had been in the shadows a bit more. See, this is why he should have done The Hobbit first. I feel like this is how he wanted to do Lord of the Rings, the problem is it's not ord of the Rings, but I still appreciated it.
I think he should've just done movies covering stories from the Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales. Because what he did to The Hobbit is unforgivable.

Gandalf proved you wrong. Just try and deny this is amazingly awesome.
Too much lighthearted action. That part was supposed to be really scary and suspenseful. The atmosphere was supposed to be dark and hopeless and it should have been a very dark cave, the Goblin should have just been a big ugly looking son of a bitch instead of looking like he has down syndrome, they cut out the song, the goblins speak gibberish instead of having really gritty and ugly voices and speaking broken English. Then Gandalf comes in. Instead of it being pitch black and then small magical fire explosions of different colors and a burst of light then running in the tunnels, it's a huge action with enough lighting to give the Sun a run for its money. And then, let's not forget how Bilbo getting lost, the meeting of Gollum, and then escaping is a grand total of 10 minutes. Again, too much lighting, it doesn't seem like Bilbo is in a hopeless situation, there's zero suspense and the riddles just fly by, and Gollum wasn't scary like he was in LOTR. He didn't have that look in his eye and he didn't look like he was plotting anything. 0/10 Never again.
