Serious / Re: A question for non hetero people.
« on: November 18, 2014, 09:19:44 AM »
Silly question.

Would a hetero want to change to gay?
No it isn't. If it makes you uncomfortable or offends you, I apologize and recommend you leave and ignore this thread. But it's a valid question.

No, he wouldn't. There are several downsides to being gay. Or who knows, maybe some people would. I won't speak for everyone.
No need to be so offensive, geez. Nothing offending here.

Its just a silly question to me.
I want being offensive. I apologized if it offended you, how is that offensive?

It's not silly. It's something quite interesting, how people view their sexualities.

Really, to me, this seems to be one of those questions that I have been on the fence about, at times I would say yes, while at other times no. Bi here by the way. The way I see it, my sexuality is a part of who I am, and if I were no longer the same sexuality, I would no longer be the exact same person. Mannerisms I have, my ideology on subjects, and more would probably change with my change on sexuality. On the converse side, I live a Hispanic Catholic family that does not know my actual sexual identity and when thinking about it, I don't know if I could ever engage in a homosexual relationship because of possible ties being severed between family members. On another note, I do also want biological children and would rather do it the old fashion method rather than go through means of artificial insemination to save money and the hassle.

In a similar thought that I have had lately, with our growing knowledge on genetics and our capacity to alter genetics of embryos, one has to ask, would it be wrong to alter the genetics of your child to ensure he would be "normal"? Obviously, I would have no problem with my child being gay, however, I do realize that not everyone shares the same sentiments.
That's a valid point, you would be different. The problem is that people won't accept people for who they are. But what I mean is, would you prefer to be solely hetero? Not because of any of the ignorant shit people say, but you in your situation?

As for altering genes in an embryo, I agree with it fully. I think it would be best.

Nope.
Why?

Taken me long enough to like who I am - I'd rather not start that process over.
I'm not even attempting to imply that. It's cool though, if it makes you uncomfortable. If I put myself in your shoes, I get it.

Nope.
Why?
To counter-pose a question, would you wish to remain hetero?
If so, why?

(Just a side point that occurred to me)
Yes, because it's the sexuality we're supposed to be. I want to be able to create my child, not worry if someone I find attractive isn't of the same sexual preference or not. And then of course all the hate you get for being gay/bi/trans, that would suck.

How about you?

I fucking love how you get all hissy and call Dustin out for trolling because you don't like his opinion, then you make a thread like this, on the Serious board

It might be a stupid or insensitive question, but there is still something to discuss here.
Same goes for the majority of dustbin threads, even the lower quality ones.
Insensitive maybe.

But it's a valid question and I'd like to see how those not of the sexual norm view their sexuality.

Only people that throw hissy fits here are you and Dustbin.

The thread is fine. I'm asking people who aren't hetero if they'd become hetero if given the chance. It's not bait at all, I'm just trying to see how people who aren't the sexual norm view all this.

Thank you for your completely off topic post. Always a pleasure.

Cool.

I'd prefer a sword though, or Spiker.
My girflriend has an energy sword replica. The thing is made out of some kind of metal, and is pretty heavy and sharp. Like seriously, you could stab someone with it just as easily as you would with a knife.
I'd love one of those.

Not like I have the money, but I can dream.
Maybe one day you will have the money, so it's not such an unlikely dream. It also servers a practical purpose, so you don't have to feel too awful about it. We keep our energy sword next to the bed in case of nightly intruders. ;)
But I'm already a weapon.
Obviously not a very lethal one, otherwise you'd have 4 movies about you as the protagonist along with Danny Glover.
I would have movies about me.
But the cameras can't keep up.

That depends on if MCC's online is actually fixed by then. As it is now, it is a pain in the ass trying to set up a lobby. Also, you are unable to promote other people to party leader, meaning we would need to add maps and gametypes to our fileshares and try to coordinate with whoever is leader to start the right games.

On Halo Waypoint, they said it will be fixed on MP this wednesday, the 19th.
Well, I am not going to take their word for it. I will believe it is fixed when it actually works.
It is quite annoying how you never use contractions.

Homosexuals, those of of you with gender dysphoria, bisexuals, and anybody else I may be forgetting: If there was a completely safe way to be made heterosexual, would you do it or stay the way you are now?

pls no hate
