Suspension or something. No being under the influence of anything while on campus.
I'd say that's pretty draconian, but I'm not particularly familiar with US Universities and what they're like.
How so? You're there to study and make connections. Not get drunk and high. That can be done off campus.
Quick question, students are also housed on campus, right?
Yeah of course. Why?

They can drink at bars all they like or at friend's houses. But not on campus. Anybody drinking on campus gets expelled, just like they would for using any other drug.
Fair enough. What about people who get drunk outside of campus and then come back to party?
Quote
That way when there's a rape it's off campus and the police can actually get involved. There's no way for the school to cover anything up.
From the sound of it, these rapes happen with or without alcohol just the same. The school should never be allowed to cover it up anyways, which we both seem to agree on.
Suspension or something. No being under the influence of anything while on campus.

There'll be less rapes with alcohol not being allowed on campus. That along with other measures listed will really help to stop this crap. Rape will happen either way, but it won't be anywhere near as common.

6) Alchohol should be banned in all colleges and any frat pertaining to the college.

If you're going to college to party, you're a fucking idiot. Go study, get your fucking degree, do something with your life.
That is going to be incredibly hard to enforce though. Wouldn't it be better to lower the drinking age to a more reasonable one, so that people "learn" to deal with alcohol rather than get absolutely wasted as soon as they turn 21 or when they're first introduced to it at some party in college?
I don't see why people need to use drugs while they're in school.
Trust me, neither do I. But we've been shown that absolute prohibition simply does not work and would probably only amount to more abuse and unwanted practices. I think a more sensible solution would be not to "villify" alcohol and hype it up to this ridiculous extent, but educate people and actually allow them to get in contact with it in a responsible matter.

That seems much more desirable to me than simply telling young people never to drink and stay away from the evil that is alcohol, while simulatenously promoting drinking and booze through media. The only thing that leads to is sheltered kids who end up in college where seemingly no rules apply and then get overexposed to alcohol.

First off the levels of stupidity in this thread have escalated beyond anything I thought this site was capable of, seriously. Bravo.

Second, this thread is basically just a bait train at this point. Especially with the post above me. "Liberals worrying about this stupid crap"

Seriously? Try a little harder next time.

Simple solutions:

1) The campus has no authority over accusations of assaults, rape, harassment, and theft. They are obviously a biased judge and anyone who supports campus investigations, not a legitimate court, is beyond my help.

2) The frat should be shut down, no questions, and no objections from the campus..if there have been multiple cases of rape, assault, and/or harassment proven. Or one extreme case (like seven members committing proven rape)

3) Anyone who withheld knowledge because of "snitching" or told the victim they should withhold information should be tried and punished accordingly.

4) Any campus that has been proven to cover up investigations should be severely punished.

5) Further investment towards education of college life, drugs, etc should be pursued.
6) Alchohol should be banned in all colleges and any frat pertaining to the college.

If you're going to college to party, you're a fucking idiot. Go study, get your fucking degree, do something with your life.

Since you don't want to read the OP, let me sum up the story in details.

Guy who girl works with invites her on a date, and then to a frat party. Girl drinks little, does not get wasted. Guy invites girl upstairs, where she is raped by seven men, sodomized with a beer bottle, and left, passed out, well into the night.

Let me ask - did she ask for it? Did she ask for the sex and then regret it?

Lol

Nobody's harassing you. If you can't answer a simple question like that which would be rhetorical for most people is a little more than worrying.

Worrying? How so?
Do you think the girl asked to be raped by 7 men?
I wasn't there. I don't know.

I have seen girls love getting train ran on them though.
She obviously wasn't enjoying herself just like hundreds of other girls raped in colleges.

Frankly this thread is making me sick to my stomach and I need to go to sleep. I'm outta here.

LOL @ anyone thinking I'm condoning rape.

I just said I would never snitch on a friend. Thats all.
If snitching on a friend is necessary in the pursuit of justice, then you do it.

Rape is a very serious crime. You have to be a real scumbag to rape. People who kill, sell drugs, steal, can be good people. But there is no such thing as a rapist who is a good person.

Thats cool. I feel completely different.

In my life I've seen women accuse, and even take my friends to court for rape because they woke up and regretted sleeping with them.
That isn't rape, though. I'm talking about real rape. It's a seriously fucked up thing to do.

Friend or not, I can't excuse that behavior. I've always kept my mouth shut and never said a thing about anything, but if I had a friend who raped somebody I'm pretty sure I would've turned him in.

We feel differently. Its all good. I respect your opinion.

I just have seen so much false rape accusations in my life and I would stand by my friends 100%.
And I'd never snitch unless I was absolutely positively certain it was actually rape and not a bitch being a bitch.

The worst part is that we have too many members qualified for this position. Good people will end up getting passed over in this round but in time and growth hopefully they'll get there someday.
If that's the case, I wonder if a thing like "Mod for a week" or something could be implemented?
Some sort of test for members or just to mix things up in the staff occasionally.
It might be an interesting thing to do when you want to gauge a member or just try to give people a chance they might not have otherwise.
Oh, you have no idea how tempting it is to do "mod for a week." That chaos... :D

Just kidding. Yeah, it's not a bad idea, actually. Although I'd probably use Monitors as the temporary mods, since that roll is already the in-between of regular members and Ninjas. It's something to consider, for sure.
Mr. Cheat,

It has been quite some time since my last letter to you. I hope you are doing well. I still don't have orange text or moderator status. I know you'll get back to me.
