How exactly does he act towards people here to warrant criticism? Me and him would butt heads a lot when we first started conversing. He seemed uptight and obnoxious. Then one day we connected on a very basic level, I learned something about him and earned his trust. I suddenly understood why he acts the way he acts, and by showing him kindness we have never said a rude thing to each other since. You do act like an idiot here. Why? Supposedly you think by acting a fool you'll be less inclined to spend time here and to socialize outside more. That doesn't seem to be the case, and you seem to spend a lot of time here being hostile and receiving the wrong type of attention. You used to be cool, I actually like you on b.net. Then you started acting the way you've been acting for the past few months, and you've made people dislike you and you don't seem to have a good time here. So why act like this? You're obviously a good person, why act like you're not to have people dislike you? It's far better to be liked wherever you go than disliked, believe me.

I think it's very easy for people that have, for the most part, never faced a serious threat from another power, to say that liberty is far more important than security.
My parents lived under dictatorships. They were neither secure nor free. America (and most Western countries) provide freedom and security. When your government starts using security as an excuse to limit freedom, you are at the same time less secure as a result. Because it is supplying a false sense of danger to remove freedom. The government becomes the direct threat.
