Trump wouldn't have won if the democrats would've showed some backbone in relation to the Muslim problem and not gone so radical left in terms of social issues. They alienated the average American.

They would still be in Africa if they weren't brought as slaves.
It's true. Southerners are the reason we have a negro problem in America today. The south caused this. The south should be punished.
I say we take Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama and give them to the black separatist groups.
Give them to the Black Panthers so they can call rename their new country "Wakanda".
Blacks aren't even necessarily the problem, more like the illegal Mexicans that are pouring into the country until Trump's wall is built.
Violent niggers are a bigger problem than Mexicans.
Both need to be exterminated. America is the land of basement dwelling pasty neets who masturbate to anime.

What you're saying is akin to, "Well, it doesn't really matter what the art team / animation team is doing because it doesn't affect the other departments at all." I think it's pretty disingenuous to make that statement. On smaller teams especially, people will often have to jump from department to department at the behest of whatever the leads think needs to get done. That's how Bruce Strayley became (arguably) the most prominent director at Naughty Dog. He started off as an animator but quickly figured out how to work in multiple department where they needed help.
You're equating small or even indie developers to Nintendo?

Quote
The next Mario game won't look better because the pores are visible, dude. My argument here is that people can always be doing something that both a) speaks to their vocation, and b) is tangibly beneficial to the game as a product.
Whether it looks better than the last Mario or not isn't up for debate. It will look better. If you're an animator your job is to make the game look great. Period. If you're not interested in doing that, don't do it.

Regarding your other posts, I think you have a very pessimistic view about game developers, specifically those that develop shooters.

Once you get used to good dark chocolate milk chocolate is gross.

Why would you ever get used to eating compacted dirt

because i avoid eating dairy

Vegan?

yeah

That's ok but I don't see the appeal of bitter candy to sweet candy otherwise

Not all dark chocolate is bitter. You gotta buy the good stuff.

What’s the good stuff

This stuff is really good

The Flood / Re: I cut sugar from my diet and am much happier.
« on: October 20, 2017, 12:02:14 PM »
Well sugars are in everything, it's mostly about the amount that people consume; which here in the US, is a crazy amount.

Generally I avoid anything with "High Fructose Corn Syrup" in its ingredients. But yeah I also keep in mind the amount of sugar in a item as well. Fat in whole milk isn't going to make someone fat, but all that damn shit in skim milk will definitely make someone fat.

EDIT: Well I feel like a fucking dumb ass. Feel free to talk shit about me more than usual. I just went grocery shopping and got 24 bottles of Powerade to last me two weeks. Usually I never bothered to look too much into Powerade because I thought even with it being bad it's still slightly better than soda. Looked at one of my bottles and literally the second thing in the ingredients right next to water: High Fructose Corn Syrup.

I'll let you all know when I get type-2 diabetes.
You deserve this for enjoying red Powerade more than blue.

I care if the game looks good. Almost everybody does.

Which is fine (even if I disagree). But do you honestly think that individual strands of hair on a mustache and skin pores make the game look THAT much better? Especially when the consoles they're designed for can't demonstrate that work in a high enough resolution? Do you not think the effort could have been better used elsewhere on something that actually matters?
I never said individual hairs were a necessity. But it's not like the effort of the animators detracts from the effort the other departments. Also, consoles holding games back shouldn't be a reason we have subpar looking games.

Don't be an animator if that isn't what you want to do. What do you expect? You have to make very detailed games these days. If you're not passionate about making games go do something else.

So what are you trying to say
What do you mean

I'm just trying to understand what you're getting at with your response.
What didn't you understand? I'm saying if you're not passionate about creating a game, do something else.

But how are individual strands of hair and pores related to games whatsoever? That's the point.

If we, the consumers don't care, and the animators don't care, why do it

Most games have a lot of heart put into them, I think. I don't know maybe I'm misunderstanding you but from what I'm gathering is that you're saying most of these people are just going through the motions.

Essentially, yeah that's what I'm saying. Unless the entire team is energized and on-board with the game (small teams tend to do this a lot better) where there's a communal sense of direction and scope for the project you get people sort of aimlessly doing grunt work who then show it to their boss who shows it to their boss who shows it to the executives that approve shit after endless market research and other bullshit.

In the case of things like CoD so many of the textures and assets are just reused from however many years ago so there's even less soul than you might think.
I can agree with that but I still think that they enjoy making video games, however much of a cash grab cod is. And yeah I know, there are still MW2 textures being used.

People are definitely passionate about making their game look good. They take great pride in creating something that has people saying "wow this looks great".

Another "I don't like it so nobody else does" post from you. Literal toddler logic.

Respectable to a degree but ultimately clunky and overrated.
What is respectable to a degree lmao it's a game

You don't respect the people who make good games? It's clear the CD Projekt Red put a lot of soul into the game but I don't think it resulted in a stellar product. That's why its "respectable to a degree."
Nah it just didn't make sense the way you said "respectable". Most games are respectable.

It makes perfect sense, and most games are just products instead of something that people care about making, which aren't respectable.
I don't really agree with that. There's a lot of passion put into games.

Not enough to be respectable

I mean do you think the guys who shit out another call of duty or battlefield or far cry every year really care all that much

its all just soulless which is why i feel the need to specifically point out developers who clearly do care
I'd say a lot of the individual developers are passionate about the specific work they create for these games, regardless of what series they're working on. It's still something that they have created, be it art or programming or some other aspect.

maybe, but even if it turned out to NOT to be like every other industry in the world (where the majority of workers put as little or slightly more than minimum effort into their work), the games still don't feel like they've had a lot of soul put into them.

even if we establish that all low level individual developers love their work and slave away all day to realise their boss's vision, if every developer studio has that, the the bar for what's impressive has just been raised. its important that the high ups in the companies care more because thats what makes the game feel like a love letter.
Working at a video game company isn't just some job, dude. They're all passionate about making games, be it call of duty or a much better game. Are the cod developers as passionate as the Dark Souls or Mario developers? Probably not, and it shows. But to say they're there just slaving away like it's some minimum wage job is bullshit.

i never said it was "some job", i said it was just like every other industry out there. movies, tv shows. its all the same.
What do you mean it's all the same?
