You know, the funny thing about all this is the hostility itself. Lemon's throwing a hissy fit at the idea of changing anything, because god forbid we as people stop trying to emmulate misery and spread it around.

Don't change the flood. Don't change it or remove it or refine it because traditionally, the flood has always been "that place."
Instead, try to funnel activity of newcomers into friendlier forum sections.
And then, when the new members have had a certain amount of time spent on the site, alongside a certain post count, they gain access to the flood if they want to jump into the mosh pit.
It's that fucking simple.
Hell, when I started showing up around on bungie.net I lived in the gaming forum for the longest time. And then, when I was ready, I started exploring the flood.
Same principle here, just with some guide lines and direction arrows for newbies so they don't wander into the mosh pit when all they were looking for was the library, so to speak.
The Gaming forum is hostile as fuck. At least we call each other gooks and faggots as a joke in the Flood, but people actually get mad and insult each other in Gaming. If anything, it's the most hostile section of Sep7.

I tend to see that there is a higher power, perhaps its some cosmic creator or the universe itself or something. I don't know. And that's the point, I don't know and I'm not sure. That doesn't make you an agnostic.
In Richard Dawkin's "The God Delusion", he comes up with a 7-point system for determining your religious beliefs. 1 being, "yes, there is a god", and 7 being "I am absolutely sure there is no god".
On that list, he scores himself a 6, because he cannot prove a negative, and cannot be sure that a god really doesn't exist. In this sense, he is too, an agnostic.

Hmm...I guess that I think that the universe didn't just come to happen at random.
Think of erosion and formations of rivers as a comparison. Nobody created the river, it just happened. It's not random, a series of things happened which created what we see and are today. I don't understand how people think there has to be a creator when you can see things in nature happen solely due to different natural effects. We used to attribute the wind and water and fire and other elements to individual gods, and now we look at that as "mythology". That's what the god of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism is, mythology. A poor explanation created by people to try and explain how everything came to be, and used religion itself to control other people. We don't question how a river forms because we know how it forms. We don't attribute the formation to a river god. Why attribute the universe to a god? It's the exact same ignorance, just on a much larger scale.

From there on I got some money from my dad, and sold my original car. Basically lost all of that money through the learning process. He hired me after I started making money, and it increased exponentially as time went on because I kept getting things right. I was taking a lot of risks and I guess he saw something he liked so he eventually hired me. In the contract we made a deal that I won't discuss because it's hard to explain, the deal is what allowed me to make so much money (totally legal, by the way, I don't mean to make it sound sketchy, it really isn't I just don't feel like explaining.) After a while of working their I eventually resigned, but obviously still kept all my investments and my portfolio. So I'm still making money, just not working at a firm. I'm 18 now, as well. I will probably begin working their again once I graduate college, as he said I'm welcome to come back whenever I want.
