On a completely unrelated note, a lot of people enjoy working out for the sake of doing it.
people do that with anything really

sad neets and depressed people (me) use video games as escapeism so they don't commit suicide for another day

normies hang out with friends or workout cuz it releases good feelings in brain

then you have the weirdos who want to get away from everyone and enjoy nature, so they go hunting
Maybe you should bodybuild then you won't be depressedπŸ˜‰

It was an example

average lifespan is 71 for men, 81 for women, so you're about 20 years off with that unless you hop over to Africa maybe.

you've already wasted several years of your life on here so it's not that bad a step up
it seems like you're the only arguing

i mean, weapons exist
True but that's a lot more serious. And sometimes when people see you're in shape they'll think twice, but that's whatever.

Quote
well yeah, but that's called being irrational

what i believe in my most irrational state of mind is the exact opposite of what i actually believe
Whatever this is just semantics and not what I'm talking about. My point was that you're not rational when you're in that type of situation.

Quote
same here

so you shouldn't be responding to me at all, unless you aim to sympathize
Well my point is even though I'm like this right now I know it's wrong.

Quote
all my PE teachers were fat pieces of shit, which i thought was hilarious
lmao that's what I'm saying they're all out of shape and have horrible attitudes

Quote
i could probably stomach doing 50 of each of those every day or so

but i'm the kind of person who needs a tangible end to strive for, and i just don't
So do 50. Do 30. I think in your case it'd help you out mentally and confidence wise.

and now that we have a menagerie of celebrities running for president now, i can only see every coming election growing more and more farcical, so it's just going to be harder and harder for people to take any of this shit seriously anymore
That's what they want. They want us to become disillusioned with democracy.

the inability to survive a freak incident where being able to lift 300 pounds would've saved my life is such a remote possibility that i'm willing to sacrifice it for my own personal comfort and trade it for something i actually enjoy doing
That is a remote possibility. This is also a straw man. My point is the more physically fit you are the better your chances of protecting yourself and your loved ones from others.

Quote
and if i got into that situation and i died for being too weak or whatever, i would die knowing that i still made the 100% correct life decision
That's just not true. When you're in a near death situation, all philosophy, religion, whatever goes out the window and fear, desperation, and the will to live kick in on overdrive. You'd wish you had the strength to do so. But again, this is a weak way to try and disprove what I'm saying. And it's not even what I'm saying lmao

Quote
if you took away all the things that i enjoy doing with my life and replaced them with work, i can guarantee you that i would kill myself by the end of the year
I agree completely. I think everybody would. I didn't say this at all. I'm out of shape myself and I'd rather spend my free time doing something fun than getting back into shape. Doesn't mean I think that's right, though. I know it's wrong, I just don't really care at this point in my life and having fun right now is more important for my mental well being than exercising.

Quote
either way, i've seen from experience that most people who lack the drive to grow physically stronger simply will not get any kind of results if they exercise out of necessity rather than having a genuine desire to
That's true, but that's why I think it's something that should be taught to children at a young age and in a fun way, to make sure all kids feel included and motivated. But I guess you might as well wish for world peace, with the way PE teachers are.

Quote
therefore, even if i were stupid enough to waste my time at some gym, i'm not going to get anything done, because i don't care and i don't want it
I don't like gyms and I don't recommend anybody goes to them. It's a waste of money, a stupid culture, and generally a waste of time. Just do push-ups, sit-ups, burpies, whatever in your own home and you'll likely have better results than going to the gym half assed like it's a job. And before anybody else says that's bullshit, it's not. It works, and I was in good shape because I was worried I'd need to be in good shape to protect myself in case something happened.

obviously not, but that's not a bad thing

less people should be voting
Why do you think that?

Quote
i disagree entirely with the part where she said that those who abstain (or otherwise consider themselves too uninformed to vote) have no right to complain about a shitty result, because while they may have the humility to consider themselves too stupid to vote, i'd say most people are smart enough to realize a shit situation when they're put in one

or maybe not, that's just how i feel
I mean if they don't bother trying to learn anything and they don't vote when they easily could and should, they don't really have a leg to stand on. It's like there's a burning house with 3 people. 2 of them are trying to put it out, but they don't really know what they're doing and they're working against each other so the house eventually burns down. The 3rd guy in the meanwhile was just standing there with his arms crossed the whole time not lifting a finger to help, then has the audacity to say "Look! You idiots let the house burn down!".

Can they recognize a shitty situation? Sure, anybody can. But they don't really have the "right" to say anything because they did absolutely nothing to change anything. I know this recent election was a complete farce, but to abstain when there's a candidate like trump who has the possibility of winning, I think you let your country down tremendously.

And herein lies the issue with the majority of you, you're all far too emotional and you don't have a fucking clue what to do or how to fix any of these issues. Anyway, my most radical belief would be that you should have to pass a test on what you know about the basics of the country you are in to vote (so for America, the constitution, and various positions) , and that's a view that shifts from "it should be a thing" to "well then again..." constantly. I just believe people vote without much knowledge of what they're voting for, or the impact it has. Regardless of if you liked Trump or not, some people legit voted for him "for the memes", and then when he won they were surprised, and subsequently, angry. Same with Brexit voters.

People are fucking retarded.

I also have the belief that if you abstained from voting in the US, you don't have nearly as much a right to bitch about the current state of things than someone who did their civic duty.
People already barely vote, do you seriously think a test before being allowed to vote is going to encourage more voting? Or that the test can be basic enough to not disqualify the majority of the nation but at the same time lead to smarter voting? In the same post you think a mandatory test would lead to better results while also calling everybody "fucking retarded".

And herein lies the issue with the majority of you, you're all far too emotional and you don't have a fucking clue what to do or how to fix any of these issues. I don't really know either, but at least I'm not here spouting mindless platitudes like an angry blogger. the problem with working out is that you will never know if a girl likes you for you, or for your body

so i'd find that plan viscerally unappealing no matter what
idk about anyone else, but for me, the gym is less about looking good, and more about feeling good. if you feel good about yourself, it's easier to be confident, and the rest of your life improves from that. i think there's something to be said about liking how you look, but working out even as an "unfit" person empirically makes you feel better because of the workout high. it's just good for you even if you dont have fitness goals of any kind.

unless you're willing to take the argument further... "does she like me for me, or my confidence?" where i think it'd be silly to make the distinction.
i kind of get that?

but i'd still recommend avoiding any endorphins attained from activities that are otherwise useless or unproductive

in other words, there's better ways to do it that are less time-consuming and actually give you something of value at the end

unless your job involves lifting heavy shit frequently, being stronger isn't going to do much for you if you're not attracted to dumb shallow bitches
What the hell? You should always be in shape and ready for anything, you never know what situation you might find yourself in. Personally I think the education system should encourage this and teach you survival skills.

Jono is one fatburger away from a heart attack, and that's a good thing.
I was gonna buy PUBG but I guess I'll just buy a number 6 from Carl's Jr instead tomorrow
noooooooooo😭😭😭

Dude just go up to her and be honest. Just tell her you'd like to her to know her.

Does she ever look at you when you look at her?
I've caught her looking at me a couple times.

There was this chance for me where she went to a water cooler. I saw her there when walking back from my lunch break and I was going to talk to her then, already had what I was going to say in my mind ready to go. Then she walks away before I could get there. If I had left my car like literally 20 seconds earlier coming back from my break I could have had my chance.
You'll have another chance.
