Killing the Ayatollahs won't fix the IRGC problem. Not true. Who helped the people during 79? The Shahs Imperial Army and Savak couldn't do anything because it was a genuine popular movement (later hijacked) IRGC wont be able to stop something similar either.

Because he was going to do what Mossadegh did/wanted to do.
The Shah reversed Mossadegh's nationalisation policy after taking power giving a coalition of foreign companies quite a lot more control over Iran's oil company so I still fail to see how the CIA would back an anti-Shah coup.
You need to read up on this more. Towards the end of his reign, he was at the end of the day going to do what Mossadegh (and every other Iranian) wanted originally.
