you show nothing, get people excited, and now you have a bunch of videos on youtube with titles like "TOP 20 THINGS WE WANT TO SEE IN NIOH 2" or a 35 minute analysis describing every little aspect of that logo, and speculating about what all the finer details mean and shit
i mean, maybe the nioh community is super chill and knows not to do stuff like that, but that's generally how a lot of people act when you don't feed them any information—they speculate and fanwank until they're so high off their own excitement that they wind up disappointed when none of their ideas were realized in the final product

excess hype creates unrealistic expectations which lead to disappointment, almost invariably
you don't take games seriously as an art form though so it probably doesn't affect you as much
