you could just make it so you could filter out PC players or console players if you care so much
that's what street fighter does
Because PC players destroyed console players, it just wasn't fun because of how crazy unbalanced it was due to K+M being much better then a controller for FPS games. Logistically speaking, implementing cross-play isn't an easy thing to do as well, and in this case most players probably wouldn't take advantage of the feature due to the massive difference in terms of player performance, so a waste of time and money for Blizzard.
