Just to let you know, I'm using Rocksmith 2014 to mostly teach myself.
I know nothing about it but apparently it works
I actually learned a lot from it so far, so I think its a great tool for anyone that wants to learn guitar. Even has a tuner. You can also learn base with it.

Learn your major scales first..That'll help you know all the notes you are playing on strings, and help you get a foundation for playing lead guitar later. As for playing chords and strumming, it'll take a while to get the hang of all of it and your fingers will hurt like shit. But they'll adjust.
My advice on strumming is don't be so stuck on which pattern you strum. Learn how long you need to play a chord, then simply make your strums fill that time. It got rid of this huge mental block I had on strumming.
Already learned my first chords but I'll do scales too. Good tip though. I'll keep that noted.

This was privately shared on Skype in a chat I had. Inglorious took it by digging up the history and spread it.
Everyone but me has a copy now.
Bottom line is I never shared it here or on imgur.
So it's not Anarchy content.

I have the same exact guitar as you, except mine is black. I considered getting it in red or blue before settling with black.
I'm currently learning to play The Wanderer by Dion & The Belmonts. It's a fun song to play in my opinion, although I don't think it is on Rocksmith 2014.
Steam version has custom DLC, so you can manually download and install it if its on the custom DLC site, just be sure to back up your save file if you have the PC version. However, I spend a lot of time playing this thing outside of Rocksmith as well. That's why I made this thread in The Flood instead of gaming.
