i can only hope that they really did ignore everything he said. he needs to be kept as far away from the franchise as possible. historical precedent dictates that lucas is extremely controlling when it comes to star wars; that's why the prequels were so fucking awful, no one could tell him he was wrong. if this is all true, then im confident that we wont get prequels round 2.
the question is, will we get a great Star Wars film worthy of the original trilogy, or Star Trek: Into Darkness round 2?
I'm pretty sure they did. Disney doesn't like to lose money, and his ideas must have been terrible.

more goes into a film than direction. lucas has a writing credit and almost assuredly had the last word on everything that went into the movie.

This x 10. Back when the original trilogy came out, Lucas was young, he knew what he was doing. Now, it's just a cash cow for him and the prequels failed. So I'm glad he gave someone else direction. Fun fact, Lucas did not direct Empire Strikes back. That's why it was so well done.
