How did your gum open?
Did you eat something that tore it, or was it somehow caused by the infection?
Just this last Monday of this week, I came home from school and got myself a bag of Doritos. I ate it on the wrong side because I felt a sharp pain while I was chewing on it. I shrugged it off and didn't let it get to me. I knew what had happened, but I didn't think the consequences would be severe, until 2 days later. The bottom left side swelled up again and it was noticeable too.
Youch, that's horrible.
Good luck with it, hopefully those antibiotics will do the trick.
Thanks. Oh they're working. That and rinsing with Listerine helps too. The swelling has gone down drastically. I can still feel it but it's not as bad as it was before.
Wouldn't listerine make it burn? Then again, it'd probably clear up any germs easily.
Well, before I got Listerine again, I had something stronger that the doc gave me, but that ran out. That one was hard to keep in my mouth for awhile. Listerine is a little bit easier. It's not that bad. I can handle it. I rather have the burn of alcohol in my mouth than have another infection.

At least you have the option of listerine, instead of paying out more for something that does pretty much the same thing.
Well, what the doc gave me was meant more towards treating Gingivitis. I had the same thing there I need to rinse with for 20 seconds before surgery. But that was given to me free anyway. It was prescribed. But yeah. Listerine does the job too. The prescribed was only a little bit stronger than Listerine, hardly a difference. They both even looked the same when I used them.

Nah. I'm alright. I'm used to it. I've felt worse before. The first few weeks of having all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed in one go, I was bleeding for a good 3 hours. So I've had worse. I'll be alright. Thank you for your concern though, and yeah. Gum infections are indeed bad. I'm not going to eat Doritos again for a long time. that's for sure. That's what caused it the reopening of the wound. :/

Why
One of my gums ripped open recently. About roughly 2 days ago. The swelling came back. I went back to the doc, had the infected area cleaned out and was proscribed the same antibiotics again. I've also been given a syringe to use if I need to. If the swelling ever gets worse again 2 weeks from now, I'll need to go back and they'll need to knock me out again so they can open that area up and flush it out. Oh yeah, and I had my all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed about a month ago, hence problems.
