Best if you know a few things. The Control Panel is gone. PC settings is how you'll configure your PC from now on. This was from the last insider build I had on a virtual machine.
You'll have Cortana in there, but you can turn her off. You don't have to set her up. IE is being replace with a brand new browser from Microsoft codenamed Project Spartan. The start menu is a list but can also be changed to a menu.
There is also something called tablet mode, but it's going to be useless for us desktop users or laptop users.
Xbox Live is included. You'll also finally get access to the Windows Store since Windows 7 doesn't have that.
Control Panel is gone, eh? Oh well, I'll get used to using PC settings now. I'm sure it won't be a hassle.
I'm turning Cortana off because it doesn't even sound like her. I don't use IE I use Chrome so will that still be easy to access?
Yeah, I'm posting from desktop so that's gonna be useless for me.
I'll see what the Windows Store has to offer me and I think I'm done with Xbox Live so that will be useless to me.
Ah I see. Yeah you'll still be able to use Chrome. No problem. You may have to reinstall all of your programs however. It doesn't keep those installed. Just saves your files. As for Xbox Live, it's gonna be free on the PC.

I'd probably wait a couple days and see if there are any major issues on launch, but other than that I don't see why not.
Well Linux is always an option. It just isn't very user friendly like Windows. I'd run Linux if I didn't have to have so many advanced programs.

I say get it, especially if it's free to get. You have 1 year to grab it, so grab it to make it yours on the 29thof July.
