Flee has a very valid point. I reserve the right to harshly criticize laws in foreign nations and other people should be able to as well.
I'm also not arguing that simply copying a British / European / Australian system would work well for the US, for what that's worth.
Oh I know that.
You've been like, the most sane anti-firearm person I've ever talked to and I do agree with you about some points.

Oh hoho. So I'm an insane pro-gunnut then?

I see how it is. Anything to get more dirt on Deci. amirite?
The fuck are you even talking about?

You know exactly what I'm talking about, boyo. You like every single post that Chally says about me each time.

Tell Charter that Deci says fuck you for charging our ass so high for our internet here in California! (Don't really do that)

But no seriously, call them and tell them it won't happen again and that you'll secure your router next time.

Then, use a fucking VPN.

You know it's stupid really. I have torrented the Original Star Wars movies (unaltered trilogy) from a private website and it's aimed towards anyone who owns the special edited editons, so in my case I already legally own the movies, but Charter doesn't know that, and yet they didn't give a fuck to call my brother-in-law or anything.

I really don't think my post warrants a reaction like that. I first brought up findings and evidence that disproves your first point, then gave you an insight in the merits of making certain weapons harder to obtain and how both studies and government statistics undermine your second argument, followed by correcting the false opinion you're accusing me of having and then finally challenging your fallacy that I should have no right to hold an opinion or criticism on something because I'm not a citizen of a certain country.

Nothing I said was ridiculous or even much of my own opinion on the matter.

I'm only telling you this right now, what you suggest what this country should do with guns won't work. It won't change anything.

Oh and on top of that, the republicans will never allow that to happen.

If you take guns away, that's not going to stop shit like this still. They will still happen. It won't change a god damn thing. If anything, it will make shootings and murders even more common.
It's been shown several times that restricting access to guns results in less shootings and homicides. They still happen, of course, but it's generally accepted that restricting access to guns drastically reduces gun violence.
Quote
If I really wanted to, I can go get a gun right now at a flea market, illegal? Yes, but why would I give a fuck about the law if I want to commit murder or a mass shooting?
Getting one is probably not as easy as you think. Illegal guns tend to cost quite a bit more and it has again been shown that this barrier is a pretty good disincentive for people looking to commit crimes or commit suicide.

That being said, only a tiny fraction of all gun homicides are commited by your typical criminals or gangbangers. The vast majority of shootings are commited by your typical everyday law abiding gun owner that in all likelihood wouldn't have delved into illegality to get him a gun if he couldn't do so in a way that is both legal and a lot easier.
Quote
If you don't get the point now with your side of the argument on taking away guns from everyone who LEGALLY bought theirs, then I refuse to accept your side of defense entirely, and I always will, because you're wrong.
Not once in all my years of debating and researching this have I made any argument even remotely close to taking away all guns from everyone who legally bought theirs.
Quote
Try living in the US for 22 years before you decide what our laws should be, friend.
That is a terrible argument no different from "try living in Iran for 22 years before you question their laws on stoning women for adultery" or "you should have no say on abortion / feminism / adoption / parenting because you're no woman yourself". I don't need to have lived somewhere before I can criticise its laws when they are so clearly faulty.

Trump: Virginia shootings "mental health problem, not gun problem."
http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/27/politics/donald-trump-virginia-shooting-mental-health-gun-laws/index.html
Spoiler
Donald Trump said Thursday he is opposed to tightening gun laws in the U.S. but is in favor of addressing mental health to prevent shootings, one day after a man shot two journalists on live television.

"This isn't a gun problem, this is a mental problem," Trump told CNN's Chris Cuomo on "New Day." "It's not a question of the laws, it's really the people."

Calling the gunman a "very sick man," Trump said mental illness is "a massive problem" in the U.S. He suggested more resources should be devoted to addressing mental health -- hoping to prevent shootings like the one in Virginia, which he called "really, very sad."

So, Trump, if this guy had mental issues then why is it so easy for people with mental issues to get guns in this country? Obviously there's nothing wrong with guns.
Even if it's just part of his platform and bid for votes, mental health is actually a huge problem that needs a solution right now and a candidate starting that discussion is good.

But I'm not sure how well any new programs can defend from the likes of this guy, he was functioning and seemed clean until this snap.
More and better attention for mental health care = great.
Guns and easy access to them are not a problem whatsoever = opinion discarded .jpg

Time to argue with you again.

I'm just going to say this once and only once.

If you take guns away, that's not going to stop shit like this still. They will still happen. It won't change a god damn thing. If anything, it will make shootings and murders even more common.

He's not talking about getting rid of guns he's talking about getting rid of the easy access to them.

Impose a system like the UK.

Mmmhmmm good luck with that. That's not going to change a damn thing here.
I'm talking to a brick wall.

I feel the same way with people who think they know best and yet they don't even live in this country.

Our problems are different from yours, and your solutions are far from compatible here. This is America, not Europe.

Restricting how guns isn't going to stop people from acquiring guns easily.

Yeah, living without modern medicine, dying from stupid diseases, without modern restrooms, before the civil rights movements, and technology would be so great.

Fine by me than living in this hell.
We have cup holders dude. Literally what hell??

I never use those anyway.

You'd have a short and shitter life. There's nothing great about living through 1892 onwards.
It's just misery everywhere, and that's not including living through WW1 and WW2.

And least I'd die happy.

And for the record, I wouldn't be able to pass my shit to be worth combat material in WW1 and WW2.
that's not how getting drafted works. the military wasn't like how it is now.

At least I'll die not knowing about this era.
yeah, you'd just die in one that's significantly worse in every single way.

you're glamourizing something that was never how you imagine it to be

That maybe so, but think of it this way, I would be history. I wouldn't exist on this website. Heh? Isn't that a good thing?

Pick one.

You want girls to be in the kitchen?
How else am I going to get my food?

Make it yourself.
I shouldn't have to do that when women are around. Besides sex, raising the kids and taking care of the house their other duty is making food.

Then you just lost your rights as a man. Congratulations.

You know, another thing... My gf lives in that state. That could have been her if she was a news reporter.

That could happen to any one of us someday. Some sick asshole who's mental decides to shoot us bringing an end to our lives.

The more and more I think about this story, the more I think about death, and the more it makes my existence useless.

Things like this remind me that I'm going to die, and that I can very well die from an asshole like this, and it doesn't matter how angry I get at the asshole, I'm still going to die from him. Hopefully he hits me point blank in a vital area instead rather than the head so I could kick him hard, take out my pocket knife and slit his throat. I'll still die, but at least I'll die knowing that I killed my murderer.

But I hope something like this doesn't happen to either of us or to anyone we know. And another thing, it should be completely legal to put crazy people down like animals, anyone that's mentally unstable like this should not have the right to live let alone acquire a fucking gun. And I won't be arguing about that this time because I argued about that with Meta back on Bungie 2 years ago and that got me ban.
